My gamer soul is on fire for this E3, and my wallet 2, I think I skip college this semester

    • dragoon_slayer12

I like the way you think. While your leaving school, I’m getting evicted. ^_^

    • riceisnice

For some people. It’s a luxury to attend college. Although, you might just be joking.

      • Superior Spider-Man

Of course they are joking. But for me I really plan on skipping a semester and getting evicted when all this stuff comes out.

      • transferstudentx

yea iam joking just joking ha ha ha………………….ha….

    • CirnoLakes

My gamer soul is on fire for this E3, and my wallet too, I think I’ll skip college this semester.

      See me after class.

      • transferstudentx

        yes sir grammer nazi sir

  • DAT Bird From DAT Cage

Holy 40 games? Eat that Microsoft!

    • DCBlackbird

40 games spread across 3 consoles

      • dragoon_slayer12

If spread evenly, that’s 15 a console. Hopefully thats case, I want to see what’s on display for the 4

Edit:I know it’s more like 13,but they said over, not exactly

      • VitaminC

At least there won’t be TV.

        • Superior Spider-Man

But… I wanna watch Game of Throne on my PS4….

          • Warboss Aohd

if it playz blurayz like da PS3, ya probably can anyway.

          • VitaminC

It’s okay, HBO doesn’t care if you pirate the series as long as you’re buying the season releases on DVD/BD.

      • True

    • ShadowDivz

But you can watch TV on your xbox one….Without using your remote.

  • I hope that will also include PS3 games.

    • FetusZero

“These titles will be spread across PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.”

  • Peace Legacy

10 first party 25 third party and 5 indie
That should be the ideal balance

    • WhyWai

given current trend, indie titles should be taking up at lest 15 slots..

      • Peace Legacy

Yeah, that’s why I used the term “ideal”
It is not meant to be a prediction, but a personal wish

    • Testsubject909

Hmm… Well if you check in with Double Fine. They’ve been stating how much support Sony has been giving towards Indies and getting them on board with the PS4.

So… Maybe a DOUUUBLE FIIIIIIINE exclusive?

  • Farid Belkacemi

I’m hoping for some GREAT VITA games, just enough to jump in :D

    • Rytan

    • dragoon_slayer12

Depending on what your into, there’s enough to keep you busy to the end of the year, already (depending on how often you play). But I feel you, I bought mine 1 week before release (limited edition crop, was impatient), and I was buying at least a game a month for 6 months. Now, it’s been about 8 months since I bought a game for it. I play more ps1 games on it than I do vita titles. And yes, I did skip Soul Sacrafice, too many turn offs for me to warrant a purchase at the moment.

      • Farid Belkacemi

I’ve already bought Ragnarok Odyssey + P4G :) Just waiting for a few more games (like YS IV) and a price drop on “MS” (too expensive IMO) and I’ll be all set :D

        • dragoon_slayer12

MS?. I haven’t gotten around to P4,been busy with my 3ds since last october

          • Radiosity

Put the 3DS down. Pick up the Vita. Put in P4G. Play. Be Happy :)

Seriously, go play it already, it’s unreasonably awesome.

          • dragoon_slayer12

I’m in no immediate rush. I’m finishing up breath of fire IV, then I have to play persona 3 (somebody told me that’s the only one that ties to 4).so when I’m done with 3, I’ll hop on 4. Depending how long that takes, I mite not have time to due to Project X Zone releasing this month.

          • Radiosity

P3 is great but it’s not a necessity before playing 4, there’s basically two events in 4 that tie in with 3 but beyond that there’s no major connection beyond them being in the same overall world and having Igor.

If you can play them in order though it’d be best to do so, I originally played 4 first and didn’t get those references until I ended up playing 3 later.

          • Farid Belkacemi

            Memory sticks :p

          • dragoon_slayer12

Kinda figured, but wasn’t sure. I don’tthink their worth it. I bought a 32gb day one, and with most games being large sized, iI can barely hold 10 vita games and a few psp and ps1 titles. When they come out with the 64gb or 128gb, then I’ll be content. I just hate that when you delete the game, you delete your record. So yea, want to download and delete a game to make space, back it up on the ps3 or pc first

          • Radiosity

This really is the dumbest thing about the Vita, why the hell should deleting game data/DLC for a game wipe my save as well? And while you can backup to the PS3/PC that means using 1GB+ of space permanently just for a few save files that only take up KBs of space by themselves.

I love my Vita but there are definitely some real sticking points with it still (like the screen timeout that dulls the screen during FMVs, excellent job there Sony).

          • dragoon_slayer12

That screen timeout shit needs to go. I mean, seriously, it has a sleep mode. Common sense dictates, person is gonna walk away from device, he’ll tap that Lil silver disk on top, not just put it down and walk away “hoping the screen will go into power mode so it can reduce battery consumption” ….

And I was passed when I found out about the record being tied to the game. I had beaten MvC with 75% of the characters, got rid of it cuz I hadn’t played it in months. Thenwhen iI decided to finish up months after deletion, I was pissed to see everything gone…. Even when you own the cartridge version of a game, the system requires a memory card, so, why the fuck isn’t the record saved onto said card!!?? I hope Sony rectifies this in 1 of 2 ways (preferably both). 1) update the vita to allow the records tobe saved onto memory card rather than game. That way I don’t have to back up on an external device, and when I delete my game, I don’t have to worry about the record. 2) release a 64gb memory at $100, 128gb at $150, and 500gb between $200-250. (sticking to sony’s pricing arraignment). And regarding those prices, drop the fucking price of the memory cards. I mean, I can buy a fucking 32gb micro sd for $15 on amazon, and a 500gb hard drive for $50,so seriously Sony, cut the bullshit

          • Radiosity

Yep, couldn’t agree more. Gust actually proved the timeout ‘feature’ (more like bug!) can be disabled entirely with one of their Ciel patches. You could leave the game running indefinitely and it’d never go into standby or dull the screen, it was glorious.

I suspect Sony bitchslapped them however because with the very next patch the feature was changed. Now, the game stays on at all times but the screen turns off as usual, so you can still hear the audio and hitting the power button brings the screen back instantly (still have to swipe it though) so you don’t upset Ion by taking too long to respond if she wants your attention, but it’s still nowhere near the awesome of the previous patch.

And those memcards… ugh, those things shoud NEVER have cost that much. Thankfully I got an 8GB (plenty for my needs as I only play/import physical copies) for free from Amazon for pre-ordering the system there, otherwise I’d have been on the hook for an extra £40.

edit: Also, it’s really about time they added an option to leave the screen on all the time while plugged into mains. Seriously, why the power saving features while I’m plugged in? That’s beyond dumb.

          • dragoon_slayer12

I bought my 32gb cuz I go digital, it’s more convenient, and when I run out of space, I like to keep certain titles one me at all time, like the MGS collection (really wish Konami released them individually though day one, I love them both, but I only want MGS 2 at all times. Love collecting dog tags), mortal kombat (still doing the challenge tower, and I bought it day one. Do it here and there), disgaea 3 (until the inevitable 4 and D2 ports), and Dragon Crown (when it releases), as well as a few psp and ps1 titles (like maverick hunter X, dissidia 012, parasite eve 1, and Resident Evil 2). But those large sizes are making it hard to keep them on while leaving my “to do list” still downloaded…I Just hopesomebody makes a 3rd party card at (even) half the price of what sSony charges

Edit; and yeah, normally when you use a device while it’s charging, the screen brightens up more thanks to additional power, even if left alone for a while, not dim out after 30 seconds…..

Edit 2: my 32gb memory stick (when I had a psp) held my 30+psp games AND 30+ ps1 games. So yeah, even if I don’t play a fraction of my games, I want them all in one place.

    • Assuming that you’re into Niche Japanese games since you visit Siliconera there’s plenty of good games already to keep you busy for a while. Also with PS+ you can try out some games you never though of buying. Also works to play some of that PSone and PSP library that you might have not touched. It takes some getting used to but its nice for Fighters too.

      • Farid Belkacemi

Not a big fan of fighters, mainly RPG to be honest… And Chrono Cross & Co are already on my target list (even if I have a PSP) ;) Dat OLED screen looks delicious :D

        • It is even if its not HD resolution it is so nice to look at. My PSP was stolen out of my car and I always wanted to play Persona 4, so bought the Vita. It’s a great investment. Honestly it could use a bigger library, but the hardware is great. There’s hope for the library though, and if you know Japanese (I don’t D:) there’s always import.

I believe there’s a $50 gift card promo right now if you buy a Vita at Best Buy, Target and Gamestop. So you could grab a Wifi Model for $200.

  • This E3 is going to be awesome!

  • chobitsza

I hope that include Japanese games too.

    • I’d rather have the Japanese games appear at TGS honestly

  • Byas

This will be an E3 to tell our grandchildren about (not only from Sony’s side, I’m having high hopes for Nintendo too, and if the XBone really fails to surprise us nicely it will at least make great jokes on the internet for weeks).

  • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

Personally, showing about 13-14 games per platform would be awesome, but I’m guessing Vita will have less than 10 games shown on the stream. But whatever they show should be cool, though I want to see more unannounced titles. Surprise me, Sony!

    GRAVITY RUSH 2!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • You read my mind lol

    • OathkeeperSoraXIII

      We can only hope!

    • TheExile285

I doubt it. Maybe at TGS.

    • artemisthemp

      Soul Sacrifice 2

  • 40 games is huge, most of them will be exclusive

    • Daniel Jeanbaptiste

not really looking at ps4 library consist of a small amount. Vita getting ports and hd upscaled games

      • I think Sony is going to blow the roof off E3

    • Hraesvelgr

Personally, I think most of them will be late ports of indie games or multiplats, but hopefully there will be a fair amount of exclusives, too.

I’ve learned to not get hyped about these claims of large game numbers, because it always ends up being stuff that’s also available on other platforms.

  • Leon_Tekashi

Welp, it’s official, Sony wins E3 2013. Second place is Nintendo. Last place is Microsoft.

  • Awww yeah, it’s about to go down! =^_^=

  • Unlimax

Sony Promise To Show Over 40 Games At E3 This Year

    • Anime10121

Wait, I know this is a bit off topic, but is that Cyclops preparing an optic blast in the upper left?

  • $29082171

Forty games in a one-hour conference? That can’t be sane, they must have some other event planned like Nintendo did last year.

    • Solomon_Kano

They won’t all be in their press conference. This is spread across all 3 days of E3.

    • Anime10121

Who says its a one hour conference? Sony E3 conferences are usually an hour and a half, and thats without a console reveal! The PS3 reveal conference was two hours long, so I have a feeling this’ll be at least 1.5 hours.

      • Testsubject909

I’m expecting a two hour conference personally.

        • Anime10121

Yeah, I think so too 1.5 hrs is just me being conservative.

          • Testsubject909

We’ll see. Either way, so long as they’re well paced this time around.

I understand why they do it (Those long winded opening speeches), but I’d rather they just jump straight into the action.

  • Solomon_Kano

There’s going to be a sonic boom all through LA. 40 games is big, son. Big.

  • Solomon_Kano

There’s going to be a sonic boom all through LA. 40 games is big, son. Big.

  • Yuriangels

you know what would be funny, if they were all social games!!!

    • ShadowDivz

….Im sorry for slapping you. But there are something we don’t joke about.

      • Yuriangels

        Owwwww, ok i am sorry!!!

  • Yuriangels

you know what would be funny, if they were all social games!!!

  • OathkeeperSoraXIII

I hope they announce Gravity Rush 2 :) It was such an awesome game and I remember the director for it hinting at a possible sequel back in September. Please sony!

    • ShadowDivz

      Would be cool.

    • TheExile285

      Probably TGS but not E3

      • Testsubject909

Most likely… That said. Off to google to see when the next TGS is at.

  • ShadowDivz

I think they should talk more about TV and how my Playstation 4 is similar to one.
Seriously though, im looking forward to hearing about those games.

  • psycho_bandaid

sounds cool. Hope they have some surprises in the bunch.

  • Kevi Johnson-el

I know that it won’t ever happen but I hope out of those 40 games that one of the is a Legend of dragoon remake/sequel made by level 5..anyways 40 games is crazy!!

  • Bloodios

“Now is the time to choose!”
“Your fate is in your hands!”

    • Isaac Newton

Nyx Avatar: The PS4 is which all is revealed!

  • Last Star

Let’s hope that they don’t fill half of those with Move-based shit titles like that Magic Book thing that took half an hour to explain in the last E3.

  • Something people have to remember about this is that more than likely, these 40 games are either ones from Sony, it’s subsidiaries, or partners with Sony who are getting pushed to the forefront.

Meaning there’ll probably be other PS3/Vita/PS4 announcements from OTHER companies that might not be exclusive, but is still cool to have.

    • Solomon_Kano

Not according to PS Blog. This is including 3rd party, non-exclusive stuff like Destiny and such.

That said, you’re likely right. These 40+ games are just the ones that will be shown in PS Blog’s 3-day coverage of E3. It’s certainly possible that there will be even more games that they don’t cover.

  • Suriel Cruz

    “You Sony… STOP IT!” ^///^

I’ll be happy with another Uncharted, Heavenly Sword 2(I know they cancelled and all that, but I’m just wishing upon a star.) and NEW God of War Trilogy, following Norse Mythology this time.

I could say Persona 5(I know it doesn’t have anything to do with Sony, but I like this game series SOO MUCH!), but that maybe in a future at the TGS. -sigh-…
For now let’s keep playing Persona 3 FES. ^ ^

  • ZekeFreek

90% of them will suck. Sturgeon’s Law, folks.

    • Ferrick

and 99.9% of statistics without any backed up facts are just statistics pulled out of someone’s arse. Laws of the interwebs, folks

  • Juan Andrés Valencia

Medievil 3, Parappa The Rapper 3, Siren 3 and Gravity Rush 2 pl0x!

  • Ferrick

freedom wars to be for english release too please *crosses all 10 fingers*

  • Asura

Sony really is taking a cue from Microsoft’s failure on this.

  • Was that the PS4 at the end? Looked blocky.

    • Testsubject909

It’s the same teaser clip they showed. It’s still a bit blurry, maybe less so then in that teaser reveal.

But yeah, certainly is square looking.

  • yo1234

I wish I was 21. I hope Sony lets 40 people in again in 2 years!

  • Can’t help but be a little skeptical od that number. I’m guessing the “40 games” will include small download titles and quasi-shovelware. Though, hey, with that number there ought to be at least a few that are genuinely interesting.

    • Testsubject909

I’m thinking it’ll include previously announced games and currently known games that’re coming later this year.

It’ll probably be slipped in rather then given a full preview video or be set in a lengthy montage.

Either way I’m excited to find out what’s going to happen this E3.

  • Just Tim

“40 Games” scream to me, “sorry for allowing the ‘PS3 has no games’ joke ruin the previous system for you.”

With that said, I sincerely hope SCEA delivers on 40 release titles.

  • Testsubject909

    *removes pants*

    My body is ready.

    • ShawnOtakuSomething

*walks in naked with a ps3 controller*
      I’m always ready

  • Testsubject909

    Sorry for the double post.

On a serious note… I’m interesting in seeing the contrast between Microsoft’s conference and Sony’s conference. They’re right next to each other. Sony’s going up right after Microsoft’ll be done…

I just hope that we leave this event with more answers than questions… And a lot of hype for games of course.

  • 愛憎

I want to buy a Vita, but there aren’t enough games that interest me yet. Give me a reason, Sony! I look forward to this!

  • noctis_nox

As long as Uncharted 4, New IP from Santa Monica, Final Fantasy XV or whatever, Media Molecules game, games for VITA (exclusive and not indie) and some hidden surprise for the PS3 I am all good.

    • yo1234

square enix has already stated that their press conference is the day after in which they will discuss the future of final fantasy. so ffxv/v13 is most def not part of sony’s 40. that being said, i hope ffv13 stays as an exclusive like it was intended. but seeing ff13’s xbox version leaves me doubtful.

  • Isaac Newton

    40 games??

But how many of them are kine……
    Oh SH*T wrong band camp!

  • Isaac Newton

In the serious side of me I wish one of the 40 games will be…..

    Legend of Dragoon 2
Shadow Heart 3(not the new world crap)
    Suikoden 6
Ape Escape for me PS Eye LOL
    Mana series
    Saga series
    and etc….

    But time will telll….

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

    Over 40?! wait wha!!

  • grevlinghore

    Hyperhypedihyped for this E3

  • If at least 10 of them are vita titles (full games, not psn ones) I will be happy

  • CirnoLakes

    What? That’s not over 9000!

  • Aristides

    Vita FTW!!!!!

  • Warboss Aohd

i suppose it’s too much to hope fer a Okage 2?

  • I can feel that montage in my bones…

  • Man, I am so psyched for this year’s E3. Just, wow. Sony is gonna DOMINATE if the majority of those 40 games are, you know, really good games. Hoping for the usual suspects, but I’m most excited for a possible reveal of Persona 5. Persona is one of the only series that would make me buy a console on launch day. XD
