Swedish indie developer Image & Form are working on a Nintendo eShop game for 3DS, titled SteamWorld Dig.  This is a “platform mining adventure” that takes place in an old mining town.

You play as Rusty, a mining steambot who arrives at a western mining town named Tumbleton that is in great need. You then begin to dig underneath the town and explore an underground world of secrets, excavate treasure and discover the remnants of human civilization.

Along the way, you’ll also get to interact with the townsfolk of Tumbleton, and help the town back on its feet. SteamWorld Dig will be released worldwide on August 8th.
