Mortal Kombat Creator And Jim Lee Discuss Bringing Scorpion To Injustice

By Ishaan . June 7, 2013 . 1:30pm

In a new developer diary video, Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon and DC Comics’ Jim Lee explain why they felt bringing Scorpion to Injustice: Gods Among Us was a good idea. Boon says it’s mainly because Mortal Kombat itself was inspired by comics in the first place. Meanwhile, Lee feels Scorpion fits into the DC Universe and fills a gap.

Scorpion will be available for download on January 11th in the game. DLC for the Wii U version will be available later this Summer.

We could’ve had Zatanna, Huntress, Blue Beetle, Swamp Thing, Atrocitius, Dex-Starr or anything… and you gave us Batgirl and Scorpion? I ain’t happy. :(

Wow, that’s some high level DLC
right there, it had the power to transcend time and make itself
available before the game was out. I’m impressed. http://mybestfriendmakes65dollarsper&#46qr&#46net/kkEj

I still hold out hope they’ll have a Batman only fighting game made someday and have characters like Zatanna get in anyway because of her history with Batman in the comics. That and it seems like the only way I’ll ever see Black Bat and Red Robin in a fighting game. >_>

Weren’t Black Bat and Red Robin written out of the canon with the New 52? I haven’t read any of the Batman stuff yet, I’m holding out for a Night of Owls collected anthology.

I just feel like Scoprion is only wish fulfilment for Ed Boon and nothing more. I highly doubt anyone else wanted him. Cameo characters aren’t a bad thing, but GOOD unexpected characters would’ve been people like Vertigo stars (e.g. V, Rorschach and Dream)

Ed Boon has announced there will be MORE DLC characters beyond those in the season pass, he also mentioned they are all based on fan demand only and that none are Bats based additions which basically means any of your list are possible though the dominant fan demands as far as i can see are Martian Manhunter, Power Girl and Zatanna. Keep the faith my friend

I’m not a Power GIrl fan, but this news has made me happy. :)

I’m still mad at them for ruining Shazam…

Mortal kombat always lacked in the art/character design department. Jim Lee is one of the most talented artist in the west. I think they should get him for working on the next mortal kombat game together.

This is so messed up of me but I always thought Jim Lee would have a really thick accent, damn my ignorance :(
