Dragon Age: Inquisition Will Be Open World RPG, Out In Fall 2014

By Ishaan . June 10, 2013 . 1:27pm

As previously reported, Electronic Arts and Bioware are working on a new Dragon Age game, titled Dragon Age: Inquisition. The game is an open-world RPG that allows you to make choices to influence the story.

EA say that in Dragon Age: Inquisition, you’ll “lead an inquisition to restore order to a world in turmoil”.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is slated for release in Fall 2014. Initially, the game was slated for release this year, but Bioware say they intend to take their time with it.

  • Morrigan is back! So excited to see her again. Cannot wait to find out what her role in this story will be. And the Fade being torn open is very intriguing.

    • AnimusVox

Me too. I was hoping to see her in 2 but seeing Flemeth was awesome too. Open world sounds so awesome too X3

      • Everything they’ve stated today sounds awesome! I’m very excited about the possibilities.

    • Sardorim

Morrigan looks worse for wear, wonder what made her like that… Wouldn’t be surprised if Morrigan tasks you with killing her God Baby or something crazy.

  • Skode

Im actually happy they are taking their time with it – DA2 was a bit of a half baked mess so to see them making an open world version means its ideal they really craft an immersive world.

  • Manny Being Manny

Sometimes I miss the days when WRPGs didn’t have to be open world. Having a tight narrative like Bioware normally does trumps open world gameplay.

    • Crimson_Cloud

I fully agree. If I wanted an open world game I would play Skyrim but always loved linear and narrative side of gaming. Origins was a spot on. This looks like it can go ether way….

I wonder if we will see female qunari? BioWare lately was very bad when introducing new beings as they only reveal one sex…

  • Demeanor

Open World as in…? Fallout? Gothic?

  • Warboss Aohd

i wonder if dis meanz dey iz gonna re-add race choice…………cause removin’ dat made me angry.

  • mirumu

I’m not sure what I think of it being open world, but I’m very glad to hear they’re taking their time after what happened to DA2 and ME3. Hopefully they learned some lessons from those too.

  • Saintdante

Hopefully even though it’s open world it doesn’t follow’s Bethesda’s formula of good open world meh story.

  • XYZ_JolteonZ980

It may not be Mass Effect 4 but this was definitely a game I was dying to see, woot. Now to replay Dragon Age Origins and 2 and wait paitentially in anticipation for Fall 2014. Hope this game is as deep as the others.

  • She was prettier in DA 1 :( (Though I killed her, I won’t have missed her)

  • Testsubject909

    Oh hai Lulu from FFX.

    Anyhow… that was… a short teaser.

    • revenent hell

      Lulu didn’t look this haggard.

This is her after Besaid became Meth Isle

But yeah I kinda thought so to

  • Z3

Why does Morrigans face remind me of Kristen Stewart goddamit

  • Nitraion

Hope they didn’t fucked up like ME3…
    but i haven’t tried this series yet….
Damn shame ME3 has good combat but everything else is bad compared to ME2 like HUD,Interface and journal… and not mentioned the Ending and the non-existed last boss :V

    • XiaomuArisu

ME2 Journal:Go to Planet X on Galaxy Y and talk to Person Z
      ME3 Journal: Complete the mission

  • fayt255

Hello Morrigan, what have you been up to now come to my tent!

  • fayt255

I hope with DA3 that since its open world we can visit other countries they mention through out the series and it will interesting to see if you will get to go in and out of the Fade at will.

  • Surgeon of Death

In 2014 there will be more witch tang.

  • Sardorim

What if I don’t want to be a religious fanatic?! =(

    • ShadowDivz

      You’l need to be brainwashed.

  • Pockystix
  • l777l

I prefer a deep story and complex characters over “open worlds”.

    • ShadowDivz

Often times the 3 engage in carnal relations.
Translation:There can be deep story and complex characters in open worlds.

      • l777l

There can. But it’s rare. And there are limitations that more linear games do not face. The contradiction is a mere illusion.

  • Mordina

    Can’t wait to play it!

  • Hector Velar

Has anyone noticed how Morrigan looks alot like Flemeth? as if ….. nah , can’t be… but wait…
