Bayonetta 2 Will Have A 2-Player Mode

By Ishaan . June 11, 2013 . 11:00am

Bayonetta 2 is spicing things up with a few new additions. Nintendo and PlatinumGames just announced at a presentation in Los Angeles that the game will have some sort if a 2-player mode.

While Bayonetta 2 is being developed as a single-player experience, PlatinumGames say they’ve included a 2-player mode along with new combat features such as mid-air battles (where you aren’t standing on any kind of platform).

The game will also feature moving stages, letting you fight on trains and planes, Platinum said. You’ll also be able to summon monsters using something called the Umbran Climax.

All Wii U games can be played on the game tab right?

    • British_Otaku

A good number of them can. Even ports from Activision and Ubisoft tend to let players pick either of the two, but it’s a case by case basis.

I’ve seen that the touch screen control mode (yes, that’s a thing – Similar to Ninja Gaiden DS) which only needs the GamePad. Since the game in general hasn’t shown serious use of the pad, perhaps multiplayer will use it and single player will let you play with TV in use.

  • jeka69

I can only the imagine the (awesome) mess on the screen. Not that I’m complaining though.

  • alixraen

Is there a mode where I can grow back her hair?

  • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

Action games on moving stages aren’t new, but Bayonetta will make them look awesome. I’m starting to look forward to this more.

For the love of Jubileus, PLEASE let this be a timed exclusive. I don’t wanna have to force-borrow my friend’s Wii-U just to play this.

    • FlameEmperor

Nintendo funded the games development so………. I doubt it’s timed exclusive

    • sd28

      its not deal with it

    • FFmax

This game wouldn’t exist without Nintendo’s help.

    • Testsubject909

      Didn’t we kill Jubileus?

    • zeta

there’s no bayonetta 2 if not for nintendo’s fund. so support that shit

    • smashbrolink

Sorry, but that’s not going to happen.
Unlike the other cases, this is 100% funded and published by Nintendo.
It goes nowhere without Nintendo’s say-so, so you can kiss those hopes good-bye.
In fact, you should be HAPPY that the Wii U is getting more games.
The more games it gets, the more reasons you’ll have to own one.
As a gamer, that should make you HAPPY, unless you’re really just another hater.

  • Any kind of meaty co-op mode for this game would drive my interest level up significantly. Their quickness to emphasize that it’s “primarily” a single-player experience makes me wary of a tacked-on gimmick multiplayer mode, though.

  • z_merquise

Awesome! Playing co-op with my brother (who haven’t tried the first game) or my cousin (huge fan of the game) for this one would be great.

So it sounds like co-op mode would have it’s own set of levels.

  • “You want to touch me”

    Indeed I do. =^_^=

    • smashbrolink

      “Who said you could touch?”
Not bashing, it just seemed like an appropriate response.XD

  • Learii

    how 2 players work?

  • Sardorim

    Someone’s looking classy. I approve.

  • Kevin Schwarz

    Two player, that’s great!

  • artemisthemp

I like the new look of Bayonetta.
2 Player will be co-op or?
