Here’s How Vita Free-to-Play Game Destiny of Spirits Works

By Ishaan . June 17, 2013 . 8:30am

As previously reported, Destiny of Spirits is a free-to-play, location-based game coming to the PlayStation Vita. The goal of the game is to amass an army of spirits, and you can do this in one of two ways.

Spirits in Destiny of Spirits are based on different mythologies and locations, so depending on which part of the world you’re in, you’ll have access to a different variety of them. You can either travel to different parts of the world to gain access to the others, or make friends with people living in other parts of the world, and trade with them.

The spirits will have different elemental attributes such as water, fire, metal and so on. As one would expect, different element types are weak or strong against each other. You can watch a brief E3 coverage video featuring the game’s associate producer above.

Destiny of Spirits is slated for release sometime in 2013.

No, its not cool enough :/

  • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

Seeing as I will not be dropping coin to fly around the world trying to collect spirits, now I have to go and try to make global friends? Forget that, too much work! Interesting concept, but not for the antisocial. =P

      Too much work?

Just ask people in Siliconera if they want to add you.

BOOM! European friends. Australian friends. African friends. Brazillian friends. Polish friends. Canadian friends. Multi-freaking-national everywhere friends.

      How do I know?

Because I added a whole bunch of people that I regularly talk to in the OT and they do happen to be pretty much spread out everywhere in the world.

      • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

Lol I was joking. (In hindsight, I should have added “/s”).

I don’t usually check the OT since I generally check the site/topics through my feed.
