This week, Konami’s Yie Ar Kung Fu joins the Virtual Console line-up on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS in Japan.

Yie Ar Kung-Fu is an early fighting game released in 1985, where the goal is to defeat all of your opponents using the protagonist. You play the game by holding a direction along with an attack button, which allows for a variety of moves.

The game will be available on the 3DS Virtual Console in Japan on June 19th for 500 yen.

Holy **** I remember this !! This game was released back in 1985 ? Man I feel old -_- Definitely getting this if it came to the US.

EDIT: Scratch that. This game was only released for Japan. I wonder how I got my hand on it back in the day.

Well it was originally an arcade game I think we got that version, or maybe not don’t quote me on that. You could be confusing it for the bazilion other Kung-Fu kinda games on the NES, I had a bunch of Karate /Kung-Fu/Beat’em Ups as a kid. lol

Oh anyways the game has been ported in the US before, I recall playing it in a pack of other “classic” games on my GBA. It really was a pretty awesome and addictive little game.

When will they start doing 3d classics of excellent games???? I want mario 3, world, LttP, Sonic 3 and knuckles, ninja gaiden 2 (all 3 really), revenge of shinobi (all 3 too), bonk (turbo grafx), kickle cubicle, soul blazer (trilogy), ffV, chrono trigger. Man, if they actually took the time to invest in the 3d Classics “franchise”, I think they could make a killing if they do 8 bit and 16 bit titles. Arika, where you at!!??

Edit; and mario rpg, got to have that in 3d.XD

It was released on the Konami Classics Arcade collection for the DS. I’ve played the crap out of it.

I played the Commodore 64 version of this game when I was a kid. I remember it being really fast and actually funny!
