Sega Teasing “Project 575”

By Ishaan . June 20, 2013 . 3:20pm

Sega have launched a teaser website for something called Project 575, along with a teaser trailer for the same. You can visit the website here and watch the teaser below:

The song playing in the teaser video is by Vocaloid composer Lamaze-P. The character in red identifies herself as Masaoka Azuki, while the one in green is Kobayashi Maccha. Another rhythm game, perhaps?

  • Miyako Arima

looks like a Yakuza 5 localization announcement to me :)

    • Micrll

Well there *was* Idol stuff in Yakuza 5 soo…

    • yo1234

Except this was sega. Not sega of america and in japanese with no subs… Why would they announce a localization to japan?

      • Jah-keem York

Why did you take his post seriously is the real question.

        • yo1234

Because sarcasm and jokes are so hard to understand through text on the internet. For all i know, he can be a kid or not the sharpest tool in the shed.

  • mirumu

I wonder if this is at all related to one of SEGA’s early DS games, Feel the Magic: XY/XX, also known in some parts of the world as “Project Rub”? The style seems a bit reminiscent.

    • Göran Isacson

If this would be an upgrade of that hilarious silhouette style game, I will be massively excite. Not confident that’s what we’re actually getting, but the possibility alone…

  • Shizumasa

    Interesting. I like rhythm games.

  • BloodyNights

Come to America and I will buy you, you sexy silhouettes.

    • Micrll

I too would love to see one of these games get a English translation at launch.

  • Keima88

I recognise one of the seiyu’s : the right one is voiced by Kanae Ito.

The other one is…. maybe Kana Asumi?

Azuki (red bean) and Maccha (green tea) huh?

Hmm the game is about idols singing and cooking?

    • Elemiel

It will be called the [email protected]

      • Keima88

        Oh I will buy that!
I always wanted to learn more recipes about Japanese cuisine and cooking mama is not actually eh my kinda game…
So if a idol chef teaches me how to make them…
        Having fun while learning!

    • puchinri

Ohmygoodness, if it were one of those idol games where the idol has to be a super talent and do all kinds of stuff, that would be so fun and cool. ♥u♥

There could be a rhythm part, cooking minigames, and combat could be for like action scenes in a movie, etc.

  • This is obviously an idol rhythm game, and I couldn’t be more interested lol. Looking forward to more info.

Also, the type of conversation and personality they had reminded me of the covos and antics of the characters in Yuruyuri lol =^_^=

    • puchinri

Given the way Azuki started with “minna genki,” I really do feel like it’ll be an idol game or that will be some aspect of it. (Well, she does in the second vid.)

That makes me want to watch Yuruyuri. >u<

  • Odin

Seems to be a mobile game… Check the source of the website. Oh, and it being Sega Sammy would be another hint at that.

  • Doctor Nebula

    New idols!?

  • Micrll

For a while I was positive this has to be [email protected] related but then I remember that is Namco not Sega. Still extremely interested in whatever this is though ^_^

  • Dynami

  • DesmaX

Nah, that’s totally Valkyria Chronicles IV

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

Was that red one Toshino Kyoko?
Definitely seems like a rhythm game.

  • Warboss Aohd

‘sighs’ so much fer Valkyria Chronicles or Shining Force.

  • Paudemonium

With the colored silhouettes. Sega and dancing, I can’t help but hope that this will be somewhat of a soul predecessor for Space Channel 5 <3

  • anarchy_panty

No idea what any of you are talking about, this is obviously a Ristar sequel.

  • tubers

    3DS or iOS game maybe.

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

…… is Red Bean and one is Green Tea………. had two silhouettes………

A new Rub Rabbits game however this time with two type of girl to choose for? Sign me up Sega.^_^

  • William Hsia

i heard magical girls and madoka…MAGIC TIME

  • CirnoLakes

I don’t know anything about this but I already want it.

  • Repede91

Well, Project Diva has done pretty well for Sega…

  • Kitestwinblades

Judging from the first 23 seconds… An ad for the new I-dol.
Yeah, I’m going to say its Idolmaster too :3

    • Solomon_Kano

Idolmaster is Namdai’s thing. A similar game wouldn’t be surprising, but it can’t actually be Idolmaster.

      • Kitestwinblades

Oh derp xD Thanks. I love Namco and Sega and with ProjectxZone around the corner everything is jumbled up together. ._. and I forgot about capcom

Yeah, it does look like something similar :3

        • Solomon_Kano

          No prob.

Don’t forget about Capcom! They even gave Project X Zone time during their Unity E3 stream, and they aren’t even publishing that.

  • MasterScrub

Well it’s about damn time Sega made a Shenmue 3 announcement!

    …that’s what this is right?

  • Yabecchi88

Calling it now. Space Channel 575 perhaps?

  • brian

My onee-chan(s) can’t possibly be this rhythmically talented.

  • AndyLC

    It’s like AKB48, except with 575 girls

  • Xerain

575 is the syllable structure of a haiku. As brilliantly featured in the song 575.

  • Ouch My Head Said Dionysus

    Project Rub?

  • Anonymous

Too early to say but i admit, This looks interesting
I think it would be an Idol Game as well

  • I know it doesn’t look like Valkyria Chronicles 4, but please be Valkyria Chronicles 4 anyway…

  • SupaPhly

I bet it’s going to be an Idol game, with many quirky characters and unique personalities that people will create waifu wars over and eventually get a tie in with a similar franchise from NBGI…

  • MAX300

You’re all wrong its obviously another Soccer game.

  • XiaomuArisu

looks like an Idol game.Maybe they will surprise us

  • Höhlenmensch

I really hope this is a game for PS4 because right now I have zero reason to get one.

  • Demeanor

Soo… Azuki-chan and… Maccha-sama? (odd name, but better not mention it to her face… XD) The exchange was pleny of fun, especially for Azuki’s reactions XD but you MUST promise me, girls… whatever game you’re in, you WILL DANCE POPPIPPOO in the ending credits!!! XD
Well, at least we know they aren’t “high school students by day and magical girls by night”, à-la-Persona, sort of XD also, my money is on pink hair for Azuki and black for Maccha.

  • Idol game, totally.

  • Keima88

Did you guys watched the second video yet?

Its stars Azuki and I noticed something during the video.

She was making a haiku. And the game title is project 575.

You know that haiku’s go in 5, 7, 5 syllable right?

A game about idols and haiku’s? Huh what?

Anyone here with enough Japanese knowledge that can understand Azuki’s haiku?

    • Demeanor

Let me try… for anyone interested the jp site has both videos, here:

Now, the haiku goes like this: Asatsuyu ya, Mado no Keshiki ni, Maioriru, meaning (Morning dew)(and other things)/(in the scenery at the window)/(falls down), I’d translate to something like “The morning dew gently drips down the scenery I see from my window” (meaning the window’s glass I’d say).

Mmm maybe the haiku contains clues as to what the girls are up to, one interesting thing to note is that the “mai” part of maioriru is the kanji for dancing, so that could DEFINITELY be a cue to a rhythm/idol game, what with Lamaze being involved too. The scenery from the window part could be a reference to a TV screen, and the morning dew could be the girls themselves performing. HYPED FOR THIS AND I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHY!!! XD

      • Keima88

        Hmm thanks :).

Ugh that morning dew dripping from the screen can be eh interpreted in lots of ways. Haha.
