• Musashi234

Really hope this comes State Side =D!

    • Heartlesshero17

Recent tweets from Yoko make it seem like it won’t. He has told people to ask SE about localization multiple times now

So basically people just need to keep requesting it seems to make it happen. A petition was started recently to show SE people wanted it. If you’re worried about localization, I’d check it out

I just want to reply this so everybody knows. The main theme of DOD3 will be Aoi Eir’s new song and it’s called Kuroiuta. It’s the one played in this trailer.

I don’t know who’s composing this song, but I still hope for Evans’ come back.

    • fenix7

yaa, I really like the character design.

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Give us Manah box set plizzz.^_^

  • Solomon_Kano

Looking much better than the screens. Liking the voices too, though I couldn’t figure which was Mikhail. Caught everybody else, but completely missed him lol.

And my vote went to Caim. I mean, who else would it go to? It’s nice that they included Nier characters too.

I think it’s interesting that in the trailer there are only 5 Utautai in the little story at the beginning, though we know there are 6. So… which one isn’t among them? I’d guess Zero, but I guess we’ll see.

    • Neophoton

Couldn’t make out Mikhail either, I just assumed he went without any lines.

      • Solomon_Kano

I thought so too, but somebody on another site said he speaks in the trailer.

        • Ferrick

maybe its the kiddish voice that says “Zero, are you alright?” and “Zero, i will kill all of them!”

          • Solomon_Kano

            Wait, you understand Japanese?

Yea, that’s probably him lol. The shota is the only other character with a kiddish voice and he talks on-screen.

          • Ferrick

            i kinda do

          • Solomon_Kano

Can you tell me where in the trailer those lines appear?

          • Ferrick

            0:46 and 1:12

          • Solomon_Kano

Okay, so yea, Mikhail’s a loli. I’m dying.

          • Neophoton

Same. I was expecting something a bit more… stronger?

I think it’s okay for me to say I find Mikhail incredibly cute now.

          • Ferrick

my little dragon can’t be this cute xD

          • Neophoton

Hey now, I had a dragon phase when I was a wee lass. I can still get a free pass on saying they’re cute!

Mikhail being a lolidragon doesn’t help matters.

          • Solomon_Kano

Yea, I was expecting a deep voiced dude. I mean, the name Mikhail makes me think Russians and they all sound tough lol. But this is even better!

          • Neophoton

I expected something similar. This is just… hahahaha.

I’m all for Mikhail being downright adorable, though!

          • Göran Isacson

            Or a shota. That’s also a possibility.

          • Solomon_Kano

            True, true.

          • Victoria [Rokuso3]

Mikhail is probably very young, so that would explain his voice.

You know Cavia hates children, right…..?

          • Solomon_Kano

            Of course lol.

          • Keima88

And I am not sure but I kinda recognise the voice actress of Mikhael. If I am not mistaken its Ikue Otani aka Pikachu, konohamaru and Tony Chopper.

          • Neophoton

            Woah, woah, woah.

They announced who’s voicing Mikhail already? If so, then Ferrick would probably be spot on with that line being Zero’s. I assumed it was Dito saying that line.

          • Keima88

No not announced buts its my gues. I can sorta understand what they are saying too. At 0.46 the dragon is saying : Zero are you okay?

Zero: There is no need to worry. I will kill everyone, wait for it.

          • Solomon_Kano
          • Keima88

Oh Chiho and Yui huh? She getting lots of videogames roles lately thats cool.

Wow Zero is done by Maaya Uchida?! I didnt recognise her at all. She usually does bubbly cute roles.

          • Solomon_Kano

I was trying to think about where I knew her name from, but lololol. Oh, this is gonna be good.

          • DyLaN

            Rika Takanashi/Fre|nda is Zero!? Wat.

Too bad Maou is not here XD She is general material lol.

    • Ferrick

lol i would laugh if we get kaine instead, no difference at all XD, well except for the buldge on the nethers

      • AkuLord3

        what…the costumes are nothing alike

  • Neophoton

So happy I have my box set on preorder, those screenshots didn’t do much justice — the game looks better in action. Commencing fangirl mode when this game is out!

    • Aoshi00

what a sad and beautiful theme song.. I’ve been contemplating for the last couple of days whether to get to the 10th anniv LE or not, since it’s really expensive even by my standard.. but this video drove me to do it, what the heck you only live once right..

I would like the Caim and Furiae costumes (since Kaine and Nier were alrdy in HD).. but for that price, they really need to make us choose *.*;;? Give us all! or better yet, Drakengard 1/2 HD lol.. would so play those games w/ trophies again..

  • Go2hell66

    The fmv’s look fantastic

  • Anime10121

Man Zero is freaking GORGEOUS in her in-game scenes, the pics before did NOT DO HER JUSTICE!

But watching that trailer, it makes me sad that story driven games like this dont sell in the west unless OMGUBERFINALFANTASYLEVELGRAPHCZ1!11! :(

Please Square, I’m already your faithful manslave, give me this one request, and I shall never question you ever again!

    • http://epiclyamazing.wordpress.com/ AzureNova

I’m sure they will localize it. The others made it lol =)

      • Anime10121

Hope you’re right, though Square themselves never published 2, that was Ubisoft. So hopefully Square see’s fit to localize 3, cuz my GOD I want this!

        One more thing, DAT MUSIC!

        • http://epiclyamazing.wordpress.com/ AzureNova

I feel you bro. I’m as excited as Five talking about her sex life =P

            Damn! that woman is hot.

          • http://epiclyamazing.wordpress.com/ AzureNova

Here’s another one for you. Dat smile lol ^_^

          • Göran Isacson

Ha ha oh man. Now I want to see someone photoshop Tommy Wisaeus face onto Fives body.

Because I am an unspeakable sadist like that.

  • http://epiclyamazing.wordpress.com/ AzureNova

Ah, it feels good not be to be let down (Wasn’t expecting to be) lol. I absolutely enjoyed that trailer, voices, graphics and all, and there isn’t really a doubt in my mind that it will be a good game. The game looks beautiful and I hope that localization plans are in the works. =^_^=

  • Brimfyre
  • AkuLord3

I wouldn’t mind a Cain or Kaine costume <3 but man this game looks better than the screenshots showed. Oh SquareEnix, i know we may not be the best of friends but i would happy if you brought this over which you might~

  • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

Looked a heck of a lot better than the images that have been showed so far (though the battlefield looks/feels “empty”). And the music was pretty cool too.

Kinda surprised only 1 character from Drakengard 2 was added to the poll.

    • Solomon_Kano

If I had to guess as to why, it’d be because Yoko Taro wasn’t involved in Drakengard 2. So it got one mention just to be like “Yea, it happened” lol.

      • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

Was D2 a much different game compared to D1 that it only gets 1 representative?

        • Solomon_Kano

I wouldn’t know as I haven’t played 2, but @Anime10121:disqus is correct. While from the first game, the version of Manah shown is from the second game. So she’s Drakengard 2′s second rep.

    • Anime10121

Well TECHNICALLY that version of Manah was from Drakengard 2, as the original Manah from the first game looked like this

      http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn71/KitsuneShinobi/Drakengard/Mana.jpg

      • Solomon_Kano

That’s actually a much better reason. I completely forgot that that’s not Manah’s original look.

        • Anime10121

Yep, and I loved both versions, the sadistic psycho of a kid “watcher” from the first game and the more grownup and tough as nails version from the second. Though the first Manah was much more fun :P

          • Solomon_Kano

I never played the second game, so I’m just cool with the sadistic one lol.

          • Ferrick

little girl voice: Watchers sing, watcher dance
            Grown old man voice: LALALALALALA

  • http://youtube.com/user/Chubunater Chubunato

I’m really digging the game’s art style, its cool.

  • KuroNathan

    Rainy days are the worst…

  • Prinnydoom

    Kaine costume. Go go go.

  • AnimusVox

No Nowei? I voted for Nier. I love Caim but I think Nier’s costume would look pretty cool on Zero.

  • Siegel Clyne

Zero’s voice actress, Maaya Uchida (age 23) is a young, super cute actress (Hiroyo Hakase in Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger) and voice actress, best known for doing young female roles in anime (e.g., Rikka Takanashi in Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai; Mao Amatsuka in GJ-bu; Rei Kuroki in Vividred Operation; Frenda Seivelun in Toaru Majutsu no Index and Toaru Kagaku no Railgun S; Rea Sanka in Sankarea).

Uchida shows off her range here doing the voice of Zero, whose voice appears to be much lower and deeper than Uchida’s natural speaking voice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vor-tJZjrM

Versatile veteran voice actress Rie Tanaka (age 34) (Neptune/Purple Heart in the Neptunia game and anime series; Morrigan Aensland in Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Project X Zone; Kan-E-Senna and Garuda in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn; Emina Hanaharu in Final Fantasy Type-0; Mitsuru Kirijō in Persona 3 and Persona 4 Arena; Sakuya Haibara in Fatal Frame 4; Karen Erra in Phantasy Star Universe; Karen Erra and Helga Neumann in Phantasy Star Portable; Maribell Crois in The Legend of Heroes: Ao no Kiseki; Ciel in Rockman Zero/Mega Man Zero; Sylphie and Ki in Namco x Capcom; etc.) lends her voice to One.

Young voice actress Nao Tōyama (age 21) (e.g., Mizuki Kawashima in THE iDOLM@STER CINDERELLA MASTER; Noah in Eureka 7; Shiori Terashima in Zenki Sesshou Symphogear; Margot Knight in Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon I &II; Kanon Nakagawa in The World God Only Knows anime series) voices Mikhail.

Seasoned veteran voice actors Mitsuki Saiga (age 40) voices Dito (another one of her numerous male bishounen/biseinen/ikemen roles), Kazuhiko Inoue (age 59) voices Decad, Chafūrin (age 51) voices Octa, and Ryōtarō Okiayu (age 43) voices Cent.

    • MrTyrant

Zero voices is the same that did Rikka in Chuunibyou!? lol

      • Ni

Oh the funny and yet disturbing pics we will see on the net

        • DyLaN

I’m still waiting for the ‘shopped pic/fanart of Zero and Mikhail with Rikka and Chiho face XD

  • mervilles

Why are the textures so poor?

    • Ferrick

most likely because its under budgetted ?

      • Solomon_Kano

More likely because Access Games aren’t terribly technically savvy. Even their PSP games looked poor.

        • Ferrick

          Stop! Google taim!

          • Solomon_Kano

            Go!

          • Ferrick

            Deadly premonition… ahhh XD

          • mervilles

Well, Deadly Premonition IS three years old..
Meanwhile, this is coming out /soon/ and the PS3 is well capable of rendering atleast somewhat proper shadows for several units on the screen.

          • Ferrick

still, it is better than their past works, it would’ve been better graphically if it was done by SE’s main team, but SE isn’t well known for liking cavia’s works that much, at the very least cavia got another chance to make another game

          • Solomon_Kano

Yea, so definitely not known for their technical prowess lol.

  • mojack411

I’m normally not one to be a graphics whore but I actually felt they were a little lacking for a PS3 game. The cut scenes were gorgeous but the gameplay shots seemed pretty fuzzy and the environments kinda looked bland. That scene with the dragon attacking the ship was particularly bad.

Regardless, I play games for the gameplay and story, not the graphics, and it looks like this will deliver on both of those accounts. Hope this comes stateside, even if I don’t own a PS3.

  • Nitraion

That sword….and Caim wow really remember first time i play this game….
Firebolt magic….. and fun too leveling up sword as their shape better each lv up :)

    • Ferrick

caim’s sword doesn’t change shape though, but its still strong as hell =P

      • Nitraion

I feel his sword slightly longer(?) as lv up lol?
anyway it’s became faster combo as i remember… and the magic become beast… why i really like is there is sword (flamberge its name i think) (?) that is plain at first but at max level its shinning red… at the end saddly they remove lv ing shape sword on drakengard 2 :( i thing that makes Drakengard 2 MC more boring and forgetable..( as he talk more than Caim himself)
i like this game you can choose a route….

        • Ferrick

well his sword is not the strongest, but combos get longer and the magic becomes stronger, so its the most versatile sword in game, simply because you can do both melee and ranged attacks without spamming angelus all the time
and drakengard 2 MC’s original sword is only stronger when you pick the “New breed” route =/

          • Nitraion

Oh you mean the route where he become angel thing and slashing his own dragon in sky battle?
I really like the leveling shape weapon(In onimusha 1,2,3 too and dissapointed in dawn of dreams) hope they bring this back on drakengard 3…..
Yeah caim first sword is fast and easy too handle..

          • Ferrick

            yeah, that route

same here, i don’t want it to look the same even though powered up, with the exception of caim’s sword, that’s still cool all around

and i pretty much went through the whole game with only caim’s sword, because the others were kinda meh to me

          • Nitraion

Lol i do same like you first using caim sword in whole game because first time or LV 1 sword shape is really trashy and boring…
however as unlocking other route i become…obsessed to max lv ing and shape the sword… because i find the lame sword become better and better each lv up…

however the lv ing system is kinda drag sometimes as grinding lv is kinda hard and their requirement is insane need too much kill…
but i have fun because the weapon really did change and on drakengard 2 not so much as your weapon not change and already on their final form yeah bummer :(

          • Ferrick

that is very true, though some other swords still look kinda meh after levelling up

            yeah… that’s a drag… on dragoon *ba dum tss*
as for drakengard 2, i stuck with caim’s sword the whole game too simply because nowe’s other swords are kinda meh and doesn’t transform either

          • Nitraion

Using caim sword because its magic and speed is too beast…
shame we must kill him….. i thought we can use him….

          • Ferrick

i would prefer killing nowe over caim, because caim is a much better protagonist

          • Nitraion

yeah nowe is wishy washy type MC :(

          • prometheus126

Taking into account Caim pretty much said “fuck this world, ima save mah dragon”, I vote for Nowe living. His New Breed form is just epic.

          • deadMastershiro

Nowe becomes an ANGEL and fights legna!
I gotta play drakengard 2 again.

    • Solomon_Kano

Yea, I liked how different weapons had different magic. Since Zero has her own magic though, I don’t think that’s gonna be the case here. Ah well, her swords looks awesome as hell anyway.

      • Nitraion

Hmm or that is just her “first” sword magic…..
i can’t see the reason that she just “lock” to one magic…
that will be boring and down really fast….

        • Solomon_Kano

Well, the Utautai have their own magic, so as of yet there is no sword magic. I suppose they could reveal that later, but for now we just have Zero’s own magic.

  • ndjn3979

Looks graphically uninspired, but the rest of it seems all right.

Yoko Taro said on Twitter (in English) that he can’t make decisions about localization and that we should ask Square Enix. In reply to a fan he also said he hopes he gets to playit in his foreign country. Basically, it does not sound like it is currently being localized.

Taking Yoko Taro’s advice, people on gamefaqs started a petition and have started politely contacting certain staff with requests for localization to shwo that there is demand for it. The petition could do with more signatures, so if any of you could please spare 30 seconds to sign it (you don’t even have to put in a real email if you don’t want to) then it would be appreciated, as at this stage chance of localization looks slim, but if we act quickly and show our support and consumer demand for this title before it is out in Japan then hopefully Square Enix will bring it to us!

    https://www.change.org/petitions/international-localization-of-drag-on-dragoon-3-as-drakengard-3

    Thanks!

  • https://twitter.com/BinksFrost Binks5

nearly forgot drakengard has dragons, though the CGI looks nice the two areas that we see look rather bland but i’ll wait until release to pass judgement on it, otherwise looks alright i hope its more in the style of the first drakengard

  • Demandred

I’m always gonna lament the fact that we’re probably never going to get a sequel to Nier but I’m definitely interested in this. Hopefully the soundtrack is as sexy.

    • Solomon_Kano

I dunno about that. Drakengard came back, so Nier isn’t any more unlikely. Cavia developed both, Yoko Taro directed both. And here we are with Drakengard 3.

      • Demandred

I’ll remain a tiny bit hopeful but I was always under the impression that Drakengard had a larger following and support than Nier?

        • Solomon_Kano

I don’t know about that. Nier’s a known cult hit in the west, while Drakengard flew pretty much under the radar — to the point that Square Enix didn’t even want to publish the sequel here.

Nier did well enough in Japan that Square Enix has held concerts just for it. I don’t think Drakengard ever got that treatment.

          • Teh Blasterz

If Square localizes Drakengard 3, hopefully they are smart and advertise the fact that the people who made Nier what it was are responsible for this game as well, would likely get the best sales since I know a lot more people played Nier than the previous Drakengard games. Pushing Drakengard 3 as the closest thing to a Nier 2 would be a very smart move.

          • Solomon_Kano

Yea, that’d be a good idea. On top of being the more popular game, Nier was also the better reviewed between the 3 (not by much though lol).

If not though, it’d be smart of them to get Drakengard 1 and 2 up on PSN. Honestly, I hope they do that even if they don’t localize this. I’d just really like to play Drakengard again.

    • Ferrick

but nier’s story is fully completed though, with Ending E being the absolute final chapter to nier’s book

      • Demandred

I’m more or less content with how Nier’s story ended when it comes to his character’s personal journey. I’m more interested in what happens to the world and believe that it has many more interesting facets to be explored.

        • Ferrick

according to the writers, ending D is the true ending because it leads to ending E, which is the sequel after the shadowlord was defeated and the situation of the world now

          • Belenger

And if you want an extra snip of what happened in between Ending D and E, listen to Nier Replicant Drama CD, Disc2, Track 02, for what happened an undefined time later than ending E, Track 03 of the same disc.

          • Rayhan PromisedGallery

is that the one with Emil VS Alien invasion

    • Rayhan PromisedGallery

Nier is pretty much completed with Ending E and Drama CD

although i’m interested with prequel with Legion and Red Eye

  • Damarius Wingfield

Let the BLOODSHED begin! Place your bets!

  • biskmater

Is it me or the dragon sounds awfully childish? If the game gets localized, that
dragon is so not keeping that voice, calling it now.

    • Damarius Wingfield

      I noticed that too!

    • Testsubject909

Oh hey! An Okage Shadow King avatar!

      Fun game. Fun game.

    • Rayhan PromisedGallery

He got reincarnated recently, that’s why he’s a child. Not 10000+ years old folk like Angelegna

  • Scipio

There’s a petition going around for those who want to see this get localized.

    http://www.change.org/en-AU/petitions/international-localization-of-drag-on-dragoon-3-as-drakengard-3

  • https://twitter.com/Ni_Go_Zero_Ichi Project 2501

Hm… combat that looks like the first Drakengard, graphics that look like an HD PS2 game, and a struggling in-game framerate even in the trailer… I want to believe that this game won’t suck as bad as its predecessors, but it’s hard.

    • Ferrick

i’m sorry, but drakengard did NOT suck

      • https://twitter.com/Ni_Go_Zero_Ichi Project 2501

I’m sorry, but it did. I would love to be able to say that it didn’t, because it had some real creativity put into the story and setting, but it was a thoroughly shitty game – the first Square Enix game I ever hated, as a matter of fact.

        • Teh Blasterz

The gameplay in the trailer looks a lot more like Nier’s gameplay then Drakengard 1′s gameplay. I happened to enjoy Nier’s gameplay so I’m not complaining about that.

        • Ferrick

tell me then, what made it so “shitty” ? give me a good reason to believe that your opinion is not just a simple bandwagon-ed opinion

          • MrTyrant

It’s easy to guess. The game sucked bad gameplaywise, it was so horrible that only the dragon battles were fun just a little. At some point I just finished the games for the story and those beatiful endings ^^

But for an action-rpg, the action part and the role playing part were quite bad that just the story were left alone. Graphically it wasn’t good either.

          • Ferrick

really ? i thought that it was bearable, the battles didn’t really take that long either so progressing isn’t that long either (maybe that was because i had a strong weapon at that time)

and i know that i’m going to be flamed when i say this but i prefer drakengard’s action over dynasty warrior’s… even though it wasn’t that much different in a way

          • https://twitter.com/Ni_Go_Zero_Ichi Project 2501

I gave up playing it years ago, but if I recall correctly the combat was some boring Dynasty Warriors shit, the level design was basically nonexistent, and the graphics were hideously ugly. I played the game back when I was still young and uncritical enough to gobble up anything with Square’s name on the box, and I stopped playing it because I hated it long before I saw what anyone else had to say about it on the internet. So, I’m pretty confident that my opinion was formed independently of any “bandwagon”.

          • Ferrick

ah, so you were young back then, so i guess that’s rather understandable, the only reason on why i called most of the negative opinions towards drakengard was mostly because all they said that “it was shit” and something along the line, even though the story was where it was at, truthfully the battle system was no different than DW’s with the addition of dragons into the fray, so it was average at best, but the game however, is by no means “Shit”, it may not have the best gameplay, but it had a rather enjoyable story

      • Crimson_Cloud

But we have to agree that it was average at best. I enjoyed it, yeah, but there were a lot of things that were shallow if we look from objective view.

        • Ferrick

average, sure, but i wouldn’t say that it was shitty either

          • Crimson_Cloud

Of course it wasn’t. People like to overreact I guess. ^^

  • Crimson_Cloud

I can take the horrendous cheap English dub, just bring it over.

    • Wolfs_Rain

For all the crap people give Square Enix(deservedly so) they’re pretty good when it comes to doing localizations. Nier, for example had an excellent English dub, and one the most natural-sounding translations I’ve seen in a JRPG.

      • Belenger

On the same note Drakengard had the worst script slashing possible and dub they could think of, also while Nier dub was top notch, the decisions on changing brother Nier to father Nier affect into the metagame of the work, or are you going to tell me that you selected Ending D first?

        • Lynx

Actually, they didn’t change anything. We got Gestalt (I think). There were two versions of the game, Gestalt and Replicant.

          • Belenger

That’s the change I’m talking about, also several script lines where changed, from the top of my mind everytime time Emile dialog went into a risque position regarding nier.

        • Wolfs_Rain

The father nier thing wasn’t a localization change. Cavia developed two versions of Nier which were both released in Japan; Gestalt, in which Nier is Yonah’s father and Replicant, in which he is her brother. We only got the Gestalt version. Personally, I find the father-daughter dynamic to be more compelling, but that’s a matter of preference.

          • dotzeno

I thought that the Father’s dub was well done but was a combination of both skill and luck. Given that I didn’t like Emil’s voice, I can only assume that a Brother dub would have been equally as bad, if not worse.

I thought DQ8′s English dub was well done though. Although, that’s another generation of video games altogether.

      • Crimson_Cloud

Oh, I wasn’t implying that their games had bad translations. I just wanted to say that they can pay to some people on the street for all I care cuz’ I want the game. ^^

  • deadMastershiro

I’m pretty sure Zero could pull off all the outfits.

  • gRiMmYdArK13

The website already added another novel :D

    • deadMastershiro

Really tell me please i can’t read jappanese.

  • Ryan Chiu

Pick the Caim/Furiae option, damnit! Original Drakengard is best Drakengard.

  • deadMastershiro

    hope they have dlc characters.

  • Luke Blackwood

A pity in-game graphic are not half as awesome as that CG is, because damn, that CG is godammn fucking awesome.

Well, I’m still hoping this gets to west. Do anyone know if you need to play the previous Drakengard games?

    • Ferrick

no, this is a prequel to the other two drakengard games

      • Luke Blackwood

Oh, great! If this comes to the US I’m picking it :D

  • Göran Isacson

Hold up. One has breasts now…. so my assumptions about the manga were wrong?

At any rate- her dragon having a baby-voice was REAL unexpected, as is the news that this is a prequel? Is this confirmed anywhere official, or is it just the internet rumor mill? At any rate, this is looking rather decent so far, and tons of enemy soldiers screaming in despair is a welcome change from the silence of the old game (and it already looks WAY faster than Drakengard 1, so kudos there). Now to hope that it can fulfill my expectations…

    • Lynx

This is the first time I’m hearing about it being a prequel so I’d chalk it up to internet rumors.

      • Solomon_Kano

No, it’s a prequel. The manga makes that clear.

        • Lynx

          There’s a manga? Seriously?

          • Solomon_Kano

Yep. You can find the first chapter on Square Enix’s Japanese site.

    • Solomon_Kano

      Wait, where’d One have breasts?

And if you’ve read the manga, then you should know this is definitely a prequel. Unless you didn’t finish it.

      • Rayhan PromisedGallery

the manga said to be prequel of this game. So there must be something later that makes One gain boobs, while Nero and Caim disappeared somewhere

        • Solomon_Kano

Did she have boobs in this trailer and I missed it, or what? Because I definitely remember that man-chest in the manga lol.

          • Rayhan PromisedGallery

yes, she has in the trailer.
So, there’s definitely something happened later in the manga that makes One gain fully-woman body and blonde hair.

          • Solomon_Kano

Interesting. Well, let’s see how that develops.

          • Göran Isacson

Yeah, like the other say One has breasts here, it’s pretty prominent in one shot of her from a frogs eye perspective.

THEN AGAIN I am still running on the idea that what we see in the manga is in any way canon or even related to the game, and at this point I… I just don’t even know if we can do that. Like, this is Drakengard man. Alternate universes? Time jumps? SHEER DARN COINCIDENCE? I take nothing for granted when it comes to this franchise.

          • Solomon_Kano

Yoko Taro is overseeing the manga, so it’s canon. Now whether it’s in the same universe, that’s where things go out the window lol.

For all we know, the manga’s gonna end with One leaping through space. Or taking over somebody else’s body. Or just magically growing boobs. It’s Drakengard, dammit, who can predict what’s next!

          • Göran Isacson

Ha ha, who can predict it indeed. Though I am curious who the two sibling-looking victims of One is in the manga: they look like Manah and Seere, buuut those two are kind of… both little children at that time, so what in even the hell?

          • Solomon_Kano

Nah, Manah and Seere haven’t been born yet. Caim’s 24 in Drakengard and his parents die when he’s 18, so he loses his kingdom. He and Furiae still have their castle, so he’s not 18 yet.

So just some similar looking kids.

        • Lolita

Maybe One in the manga haven’t “matured” enough yet thus her breasts aren’t as noticeable as in this trailer?

          • Chiupon

in the manga she has a straight on manchest. But lady parts. The anatomy isn’t even subtly female, it’s a male torso.

  • artemis81

So we’re actually fighting Zero’s sister? I thought she would be another playable character

  • Tim Lewis

I hope they make a costume based off Manah. Very simple, but so beautiful.

  • Rayhan PromisedGallery

I want to choose Angelus as Mikhail’s costume

    oh, and jet fighter too

    • Victoria [Rokuso3]

I want the jet, too! Jet with a cute voice XDDD

  • Alexander Aubert

man man man man man,MANMAN!!!! i wan dis ting so bad

  • Magus KilIer

Did anyone else notice Zero had her eye and arm at certain points of the trailer?
Well, the journey’s whats important, we still have to see how she lost them

  • Lemon

Seeing Nier and Kaine makes me want to replay Nier again, but then I remembered my save was deleted to save Kaine. Painful, but worth every bit of my feels.

  • SunOatBoatMatadorQuattro

I really wasn’t expecting that violence. Damn!

  • l777l

    The graphics are remarkably bad.

    • Chiupon

      720p that shit, they’re alright

      • l777l

I doubt it. As a side note, I don’t aim to discredit the project entirely. Rather, I would have wanted it to receive more resources, because its characters (and to some extent: story) seem interesting. Thus, it is disappointment speaking, not malice.

        • Isaac Newton

          So you like Crysis LOL?

          • l777l

I prefer third person shooters, generally, and have not played a single one of the Crysis games, nor do I plan to.
I encourage you to stop bothering people with your simplistic and inadequate categorizing. I like 2D hand-drawn RPGs, prefer Japanese RPGs of the SNES and PS eras over most contemporary Western RPGs, and favor the classical Resident Evils. They may serve as illustration: I do not find the gameplay of RE and RE Zero (GameCube) deficient. I do find their graphics fairly beautiful; they contribute a lot to the games’ atmosphere.

          • https://twitter.com/Ni_Go_Zero_Ichi Project 2501

Yes, because he’s pointing out that this game’s graphics suck (because he’s not a blind fanboy) obviously he’d rather be playing Crysis, which of course is relevant to this conversation. That’s how things work.

    • Isaac Newton

      FPS player detected!

      • https://twitter.com/Ni_Go_Zero_Ichi Project 2501

Are you suggesting that everyone who’s not an “FPS player” has shit taste in graphics?

  • Valtiel Ikari

I was not prepared for such beauty…

  • Umar Fong Wong

The best Games always gets released at the end of a generation … very excited

  • Chiupon

can we talk about the dragon with the kawaii voice???

    because i’m loving that

also the models aren’t ~*that*~ bad, just up the quality. I’m sure in motion the game isn’t horrendous looking. At least the cutscenes will be nice o:

  • Suriel Cruz

Zero looks EXTREMELY gorgeous covered in blood in those last seconds… WOW!

  • http://ryuz4ki57inenglish.wordpress.com/ Thomas FROEHLICHER

Looks better than I thought. Might import, November doesn’t look too crowded…

  • Freud_Hater

Man, I hope this is localized. This looks amazing Oo

  • Nephroxous

Normally I’d go with Caim or Manah cause of the nostalgia factor, but I think she’d look best in Kaine’s outfit hands down. :3

(click on it to see the larger image if you’re not convinced)

  • Victoria [Rokuso3]

Look, Square Enix, 170 comments. I think this game deserves a localization.

  • Isaac Newton

I always love murderous blood covered women….

  • artemisthemp

Hope Square Enix will localize this :)

  • Kevin Schwarz

    Graphics still need improvement IMO.

  • http://www.flavors.me/ericgornicki Eric Gornicki

The character design is pretty cool, the CGI parts of the trailer are stunning, but the in-game graphics are really poor compared to some games out there. IMO it’s just a little better than The Last Story (a Wii game, so you should get my point). The gameplay seems just good, but I have to see more of it to reach some conclusion.

  • DemonicX

This game is looking amazing! This is no doubt a game that I’ll be purchasing if it comes to the US.

  • puchinri

Aha! Watching the animation in the beginning of the PV reminded me of what was a little familiar. Made me think of Tindaria~. (Was that the right one?)

The music is absolutely gorgeous, and I can’t wait for the OST to come out. I’m also digging the voices and FMVs. Hopefully the game will be localized, and unlike the ones before it, won’t get censored/watered down.

  • Vash bane

    NOO!!

one is going to be a enemy :(

I cant choose on those customes but knowing zero’s personality now…..it will have to be kaine’s ….
    wait a minute….
kaine and zero are quite similar arnt they?

  • prometheus126

    1:54
She looks almost exactly like Manah in Drakengard 1. Probably some connection?

    • gRiMmYdArK13

Well the chapter summaries for the Drakengard manga said those with red eyes are insane and certain people immune to the red eyes disease can control them. Mannah had red eyes which might have resulted with her mother hating her. One is part of that certain group immune to the disease.

  • prometheus126

Oh btw guys, SHUT UP ABOUT THE GRAPHICS.
It’s the first damn trailer of the game involving gameplay, the graphics will obviously improve as the game gets completed and more trailers are made, just stop bitching about this.
