Namco’s One Piece: Romance Dawn RPG for the Nintendo 3DS is headed to Europe, Namco Bandai Games Europe announced today. The game doesn’t have a release date yet, but it does have a trailer:

One Piece: Romance Dawn covers Luffy’s childhood but also later story arcs of the story like the Marineford arc, in addition to giving characters like Chopper and Sanji their own story scenarios that you can play. The game was originally released for the PSP, and you can read our extensive coverage of it here.

And what is about Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode? Decode was announced first and is not only a simple port of the PSP Version -.- because it´s One Piece the Moneymakernumberone -.- this game has no love (i playd the PSP version) and i don´t buy it!

    • MrSirFeatherFang

Well I’ve never been a huge fan of manga/anime/light novel video games. However… I am excited for that JoJo game… I suppose for all that fan service… so I can understand people wanting One Piece games too… however I don’t think I’m gonna miss out on much (with this game not coming to NA).

    • Farid Belkacemi

Digimon is not a thing in Europe, as simple as that.

      • Renaldi Saputra

        is that so?

        • Farid Belkacemi

Well, where is the localization announcement ? The Japan Expo was the perfect time for Namco Bandai :p

In France, Digimon was killed (sort of) by Pokémon a long time ago. Don’t know about other European countries but this series seems to be “big” only in Japan nowadays.

          • Renaldi Saputra

In Spain, Germany, Portugal, and Italy still do..

          • Farid Belkacemi

Still not enough support obviously as Namco Bandai doesn’t bother with this series outside Japan.

          • Renaldi Saputra

            I don’t know too
but the DS games they released in US were by Bamco

  • 3PointDecoupage

Gah! Why can’t I live in Europe where they appreciate the majesty that is One Piece?!?

  • Malon

Great news for One Piece fans and 3DS owners. : )

    • Greg

But not so great for One Piece fans that own a NA 3DS, such as myself.

  • Hyosuke575

Damn you 3DS and your region locks! You’ve foiled me yet again! This better get a U.S. release as well….

    • Daniel Jeanbaptiste

im guessing you can read japanese

      • Hyosuke575

Not really, but there’s some games I can somehow make it through the language barrier so it’s worth it to me to import it. Which is why this is frustrating, since it’s actually in English this time. It’s only the region locks which is denying me from my One Piece enjoyment… and I’m not going to by a European 3DS just to bypass that. (sigh)

  • Logan Moll

    Freakin’ 3ds region locking…

  • Renaldi Saputra

I heard they’re trying to make a U.S. release too but hasn’t confirmed yet..

oh gawd, Re:digitize Decode needs more love..
damn you Bamco, ah well it’s One Piece after all..

  • Prinny Dood

I played this on psp (hacked and english patched) but still would like this to be localized. Oh by the way I love that white 3ds

  • Леонид Родин

Yeah, I’m sorry for America. It’s not like we Europeans are mad because we won’t get SMT4, new Etrian Odyssey, those Cartoon Network games anytime soon…

  • Keima88

Wow thats rare. One piece will get released in EU and not in NA? Although I could remember other One piece games coming out here.

I hope NA can get this game too.

    • Herok♞

Nah most OP games only get Europe releases

  • Spider-Man

Region locking…god dammit. I hope this gets a NA release too.

  • British_Otaku

So I can play it on my local system or on my J-3DS… I’ll wait it out then. Shame, that it seems America is still missing out like with Gigant Battle and the Unlimited Cruise titles…

  • Ladius

Namco is on a roll with jrpg localizations, between this and the Tales of Symphonia Chronicles dual audio announcement it has been a nice day for fans of their games :)

    • Johnathan Lenig-Lopez

European fans at least. American fans seem to be ignored for the most part (I remember Project X Zone, Namco, but this still hurts.)

  • This hurts my soul so bad since the 3DS isn’t region free. :(

  • Will Jay

Well then, that’s reason three to import an EU 3DS, along with Unlimited Cruise SP and most importantly Inazuma Eleven 3. Plus the likely IEGo games and some others. Guess I better scrape that cash together.

I doubt this’ll come to the US either, Cruise SP never did and the only One Piece game to come here in a long time is the Pirate Warriors games which probably only came because of the Dynasty Warriors relation.

    • Ninastars

Unlimited Cruise SP got cut into two games here though so it’s not that much worth it IMO.

  • chibiwall

same game, no psn release, obviously

  • shadowind

There’s a mistake in the article in that it does has a release date: November.

  • Masa

nice to see Europe getting this, my friend there is still waiting for harvest moon a new beginning which came out in America ages ago.

  • TheExile285

I hope they don’t screw over NA like they did with Unlimited Cruise 3DS.

NA wants these games too! >:(

  • Solomon_Kano

And it better sail over to NA next.

    • Probably won’t. OP likes to be EU(/JP) exclusive.

      • Solomon_Kano

Which is why I said it better.

  • Farid Belkacemi

    I knew it ! :D Hyped !

  • James Williams

I finally got all my pre-orders in order today, figuring out what i wanted to save up for, then this shows up and it’s thrown everything out of wack!
At least while everyone else is playing SMTIV we can play this!

  • GHAmer

Need more love from Bamco for US :(

  • Göran Isacson

My 3DS and wallet are ready. Always ready for One Piece.

  • Ouch My Head Said Dionysus

Fuggin’ region locking. Of all the times to have a US 3DS in the UK…Oh well. I have no regrets.

  • Warboss Aohd

    Zoggin’ region lock.

  • Jack Frazee

Looks like it may be time to import a European 3DS so I can play this.

Why, oh why, did they have to region lock the 3DS? :<
