One Piece: Romance Dawn On 3DS Has Difficulty Tweaks, Dashing, And More

Namco Bandai’s One Piece: Romance Dawn RPG is headed to the Nintendo 3DS, and Namco have shared a trailer for the game that shows off in-game 3DS footage and bits of the game’s story. As previously detailed, Romance Dawn covers portions of the story such as Luffy’s childhood, as well as the series’ Marineford arc and more.

Namco Bandai have also made adjustments to the 3DS version of the game. For starters, the 3DS’ two screens will be put to use to allow for easier searching on the map on the lower screen. Additionally, Luffy also now has a dash ability.

The game’s difficulty has also been tweaked for younger players, according to Namco Bandai, in terms of enemy strength and item synthesis.

One Piece: Romance Dawn will be released in Japan on August 8th. Europe is getting the game as well. Namco Bandai have not announced One Piece: Romance Dawn for a U.S. release.

Wait, where did the August release come from?
I thought it was around november for this, Oh gosh there’s far too many games coming out in august already!

    • My bad, it isn’t August! No release date announced yet.

Oh man you had me scared then, with ToX2, one piece PW2, dragons crown, jojo’s and FFXIV i had no idea how i was going to afford anything else!

November in Europe according to the first trailer.

  • Hope to see this make its way over, but I’m not holding my breath… Glad we at least get the Pirate Warriors games, but I wish there would be a little more One Piece support from Namco Bandai in the states. That, or Nintendo could just end the ridiculous region locking trend on their recent platforms. Would’ve loved to import this one.

Changes? An actual effort to improve the game?
Dashing sounds good. Not so much the difficulty nerf… perhaps if the game had DMC3 in North America’s problem where the order was screwed up, otherwise give us more to choose from like DKCR3D.
