Injustice: Gods Among Us Fifth DLC Character Will Be Revealed This Weekend

By Ishaan . July 11, 2013 . 4:20pm

Earlier in the week, NetheRealm Studios’ Ed Boon teased that further DLC for DC crossover fighter Injustice: Gods Among Us would be revealed during the upcoming EVO fighting game championship. Now, we have a better idea of what’s coming.

Firstly, the fifth DLC character for Injustice will be revealed, Boon has confirmed via Twitter. The character will be debuted with a gameplay video this weekend. Additionally, Boon says, the DLC video will also feature “a new character skin that players have been CLAMORING for MONTHS now!”

We’ll have news of the new DLC character later this week. In the meantime, feel free to make your best guesses. (It has to be the Martian Manhunter, right?)

Martian Manhunter should be the Shang Tsung of this game, since he should have the ability to transform into any other characters. Not that I like playing Shang Tsung or the likes (I’m one of those gamer who couldn’t remember every characters’ movesets), but I think that’s his power right?
Oh, and about the skin thing… I’ve been following this game from pre-release but still not sure with what Boon is talking about with ‘fans have been clamoring about’.

    • AkuLord3

Not really, He can only tranform to other people but that’s it. Unlike Shang Tsung, he can’t use that person’s powers (unless he’s different in some comics but yeah)

      • But Martian Manhunter can do more. Besides the usual “Flying Brick” powerset, he has intangibility, Telekinesis, Telepathy, can generate heat, has Super Breath, a Healing Factor… and, the oddly named power he has, Martian Vision! Which is basically Heat Vision. Not to mention, his form of shapeshifting can rival Mistique’s, because COMICS (and because he watches a lot of cartoons on TV, mainly the Looney Tunes)! So, don’t underestimate him!

        • Time Sage

He reads manga/watches anime too. In the comics he once disguised himself as a Japanese woman named Rei Hino. Batman, or rather Bruce, caught on right away and wispered to him the name was a dead giveaway.

(If you don’t get the joke, the real name of Sailor Mars is Rei Hino)

          • He’s basically an Alien Freakazoid, only more sane! Also, funny for Bruce to be up-to-date with Otaku stuff! Wouldn’t be surprised if one of his main sources that he uses in his “Bat-Computer” is 4chan.

          • Time Sage

Up to date? Sailor Moon is over 10 year old -_-

          • It’s older than 20. And that was not the only time Batman has shown his knowledge for Japanese Media.

    • Scarlet_Devil_Slave

Or maybe Boon is going to troll all of us and the Martian Manhunter we saw in Scorpion’s trailer is actually Shang Tsung transformed into M.M.H. to fool the DC heroes.

  • Ben Sylvia

I will lmao so much if Manhunter isn’t the first of the second set.

  • IshimaruKaito

    still waiting on “ADULT STATIC”

  • SonicRulez

The character will be Robin just to reinforce that Batman will always get the most attention in this game. /sarcasm

    • SageShinigami

Given the choice between him and Red Hood, I’ll take Robin. I at least like Tim Drake.

  • RavenholtEX

New character skin is the Flaming C, I’m calling it now.

    • Richard N

    • Noe! It will be Azrael (Knightfall Rep) and Poison Ivy (because Catwoman stole her spot D:<).

  • Tonton Ramos

I am praying for him to be included in the game…

  • Zetsuei380
