Skullgirls Headed To PC On August 22nd, Pre-Order For Beta Access

By Ishaan . July 13, 2013 . 12:30pm

Skullgirls has a release date on PC. The game will be available for PC on August 22nd, and pre-orders will begin on August 1st.

The PC version of Skullgirls will be available via  GameFly, GamersGate, GameStop PC Downloads, Origin, and Steam. Online multiplayer will use GGPO and Steamworks, while a new “All Play” feature will allow for multiple fights within a single lobby. Steam trading cards will be supported as well, and the game will include a spectator mode.

Pre-ordering Skullgirls on PC will get you the Character Color Pack, featuring 5 new color palettes for each of the game’s eight core characters as well as beta access. Being able to access and play the beta will allow you to give feedback on each of the game’s upcoming DLC characters as they go into development.

On that note, yes, the five DLC characters funded via Skullgirls’ crowdfunding campaign earlier in the year are still going to be free. Each character will be available for free for three months after their release. Following this, each one will cost $5 to download.

Sorry for being a slowpoke, but what are the specs for this again? I just look forward playing BEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOWUUUUUULLLLLLLFFFFF!

    • Corey Owens

      Specs?

      Do you mean requirements?

      • Just Tim

Yes. I just don’t want to end up buying a game where my hardware requirements are lower than required.

        • Corey Owens

I don’t think there are any official requirements out, but the game can be run at a low resolution and the parallax backgrounds can be set to 2D to help too. If your machine isn’t especially old, you should be fine.

Great news for my friend who had it pre-ordered since last year.

I wish I liked this game, but I don’t like the way it plays. Still, I supported it on PSN anyway because I like to support indie fighting game developers.

    • Crimson_Cloud

Same here, I didn’t like it all that much ether for some reason. But well done indie game needs a support so I too help out whenever I can. ^^

    Just to be clear:

“Each character will be available for free for three months after their release.”

Means that if you download the character within three months after their release, you get them free forever. Not just for that three month period.

Sounds good. I like the idea of Skullgirls enough to buy into it, but not enough to preorder, try out the beta or support the Kickstarter.

  • CirnoLakes

I took a break from some other games the past few days to polish up on my Peacock in the Beta.

    I still mourn the loss of Annie. I was going to main her.;_;

  • Shady Shariest
