    lol japan

    • Renaldi Saputra

they’re exagerrated about it I think

    • My reaction to diagonal movement.

  • Robert Hendrie

X plus Y axis movement! mother fucking future.

  • Highasthesky

We can FISH and SURF this is revolutionary. But seriously can’t wait for this game, this year is looking good for handhelds.

    • andref

You have to admit the new animations for when pokemon are encountered is cool

  • Lucius

I rather stand on the pokemon than lay on it while surfing

  • fyi1191

It’s funny how they are excited over a normal encounter. It would be a different case if it’s a Legendary encounter.

    • Spider-Man

      Or a shiny.

    • Renaldi Saputra

I wonder what their reaction will be if they encounter a horde of “Zubat”

      • Gilgamesh2025

or a horde of “Wailord”! xD

        • Renaldi Saputra

well, wailord does give high amount of EXP, so it isn’t a thing..
          seems you missed the point

    • LightGenx

Welcome to a Japanese kids show.

  • andref

Definitely excited for the new attack animation for shadow sneak, so much better looking

  • Uso Ewin

As long as there’s more variety than B/W and less surfing routes, or at least shorter ones than R/S/E, I’m satisfied..

    • Laer_HeiSeiRyuu

We just need more land. Gen4 and gen 5 had too little imo

  • MrSirFeatherFang

I like the graphics more than what I’ve seen before (really old magazine scans). Looking to be a great game. Can’t wait for that OST too

  • Symbol de Au

    Surfing looks awful…

    • Kai2591

      yeah looks weird right? haha

      • fyi1191

Sure do, it’s like riding on a … Luvdisc?

        • JMaster3000

          Imagine flying on a pidgey….

I think u agree now with me now….. the animation is ok…..

          • fyi1191

Since we can ride a bull now, why not Surf with it as well?

          • Renaldi Saputra

    • Crevox

Was hoping for a sideways view, but either way, this looks lazy.

  • leadintea

That woman took it to another level with Fletchling.

  • Spider-Man

Shadow Sneak animation looks cool. Surfing looks really awkward. So does coming off said Pokemon.

In the last encounter there was like a 3 second delay before the grass animation appeared. Hope that’s fixed.

  • KrazyBean

    Dat diagonal movement.

    • Dat analog stick has a purpose again in life.

  • Virevolte

They’re getting too much excited over this… ^^”

    • Crevox

Are you kidding, this is how I always am when I play

      • Virevolte

        I envy you. =)

      • Renaldi Saputra

        you surely had great days..
        I also envy you

  • piichan

I wouldn’t mind playing in front of these people. Nothing beats catching a magikarp while they cheer like crazy.

  • Renaldi Saputra

those ppl were acting exagerrated lol..
btw that fishing looks so-so, so is surfing..

anw nice to see Hitotsuki in action..
oh and It feels like playing pokemon stadium in HD..

    • I think that’s just how a lot of TV show participants present themselves in Japan. Granted, it’s a bit of an overreaction, but it’s probably intended to liven up the show/mood.

      • Renaldi Saputra

yea, it seems.. since it’s more aimed for kids in Japan..
Those overreactions probably suit kids more to raise more hype for them..
        I can see why..

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

Here’s a idea, show the Pokemon we are surfing on

  • Prinnydoom

It was a mistake to turn my volume up on this vid. Its looking pretty god damn good now though. Looking forward to this title.

  • Gilgamesh2025

Man, that exaggerated euphory! Especially that girl with her continual “kawaii!!!” xD But, man! The game looks so good! Can’t wait! :D

  • I still don’t seem to like the 3D models… -sigh- They should’ve used the models and design they used for Black & White, I liked those.

  • celery

I don’t care that it’s over-exaggerated–it makes me more excited, too! I just can’t wait for this game!!

  • TruSpindash

Love Pokemon Smash, their over-reactions always put a smile on my face.

  • Nice. This is what I’ve been wanting to see. Not gameplay footage made to look like a trailer, but actual gameplay footage, walking around, finding and catching Pokémon, etc. For example, I bet a lot of people were excited to see Pokémon finally has diagonal movement. xD

What I find both annoying and funny is how the Japanese hosts get so into the game and overly excited, like how every time the player went to catch a Pokémon, “ICH…NI…SAN…OOOHHH!!!”

  • puchinri

Being able to actually understand some of that felt good. More importantly, the hype and excitement are just excruciating. Oh goodness~!

I got just as excited as everyone on Pkmn Smash did over every little thing. x’D

    • Hinataharem

Luckily, being a kids show means the Japanese is relatively simple.

      • puchinri

I was thinking that too. I was very thankful for that too (and that I wasn’t so rusty that I couldn’t recognize Japanese even from a children’s show).

  • This may be off topic, but whats up with the buff dood in the tanktop?

  • TWE

    Looks promising.

I was a little skeptical that the new 3D would make battles needlessly long but they seem just about the same as their 2D counterparts with all the glitz and glam enabled.

Kinda bummed there’s no unique sprite for the surfing pokemon. Oh well.
