Dead Rising 3 Is Still Pretty Crazy – Here’s A Teddy Bear Killing Zombies

By Ishaan . July 22, 2013 . 2:31am

Capcom have shared a developer diary trailer for Dead Rising 3, discussing improvements to the game. Among these is the promise of a fully streaming open world with no load times. The trailer also shows off a variety of weapons, including chainsaws, fireworks and the usual crazy weapons like a trigger-happy teddy bear. Watch it below:

Dead Rising 3 will launch alongside Xbox One this fall. The game was originally being developed for the Xbox 360 and was moved to the Xbox One. You can find out why here.

I gotta say… I was really interested on a new one but this is looking pretty good so far.

  • Vesperion

Everyone didn’t wanna give it a chance cause it looks darker, but i will say it still looks fun

    • https://twitter.com/BinksFrost Binks5

I blame it more on capcom’s dumb PR and saying they wanted to reach the COD crowd, but this trailer definitely made it seem like capcom cares about this project and they just wanted to make it bigger

      • Vesperion

There isn’t anything wrong with that. It looks as though they were able to make the game look more dark to appeal to more people and still have the humor that makes it Dead Rising.

I can’t say i like COD, but i’m sure everyone dreams for those kinda sales………but did Capcom’s PR really say something like that?

        • https://twitter.com/BinksFrost Binks5

oh i dont have a problem with COD either but saying something like that is a plague in the world of gaming, look at what happened to RE6 and yup they did say it

          • Sergio Briceño

Didn’t know about this. Must be because I NEVER trust behind closed doors interviews enough to look them up.

    • $36487238

Agree. I really thought it would be a Resident Evil copycat.. with all the dark stuff and the seriousness

But like what the past Siliconera articles said, it wasn’t the story that was silly… it was the stuff in the game that was silly! XD I mean, you can still wear a Servbot mask.

Hmmm… I’m thinking about getting an Xbox One just for this game alone. If it lets me become Borat (yes, that weird suit, yes) AND a luchador wrestling zombies, then dood… why be deprived? I’ll go for it. I’ll just think about it first.

But seeing a teddy bear shoot down zombies and you piledriving zombies is making it hard for me to resist XD

  • Raltrios

    That was a fun video.

  • dragoon_slayer12

Good the silliness is intact (although I could’ve gone without seeing “Jim Carey at the beach” in VG form). Not sure how I feel about Land of the Dead “smart” zombies. Can’t wait to play it (somehow)…. Damn exclusive….

  • TheMightyKamina

    2:02 that’s the moment i’ve waiting for

    • Sergio Briceño

Wow. That was pretty disturbing. Not you mentioning it. Or the actual moment. But me watching it for the third time.

  • Göran Isacson

I admit- this does look good. El Santo and Teddy Ruxpins Rambo-worshipping cousin combined can probably make for a pretty wacky game, one hopes.

  • InfinitysCross

Still not very impressed with it; the Teddy Bear isn’t new, it was in Dead Rising 2.

  • https://twitter.com/BinksFrost Binks5

I was ready to hate this game due to capcom’s stupid comment of wanting to reach to the COD crowd but that thumbnail has renewed my view of this, im still gonna be wary but at least the more we learn the better it seems to be then what we initally got

  • Razlo

I think that while still having silly weapons and outfits is great, it’s still not exactly Dead Rising if none of that silliness is in the story.

  • Solomon_Kano

This just gets better and better with each bit they share about it.

    • $36487238

      Yup, it does.

You know, slowly but surely, I’m gonna take back what I said about the Xbox One these past few weeks. Not saying I’ll surely buy it day one, but seeing this trailer makes me want to get Dead Rising 3. It’s awesome man.

The fact that you can become Borat and be a luchador and let a Teddy Bear shoot for you speaks a lot. XD I may just get an Xbox One. I’m still buying PS4 of course but still… I’d love to try out this game.

      • Solomon_Kano

Yea, I definitely won’t be getting an X1 day one, probably not even year one, but if and when I do, this will be one of the reasons why.

        • $36487238

Yo… if you and I do get the X1 and have this game, let’s co-op sometime!

I’ll be the Borat guy XDDDDDDDD and you be… whatever this game lets you dress as. Somebody’s got to be the Borat. MUWAHAHAHAHAHAH XD

          • Solomon_Kano

Sure, why not. It’ll probably be a ways into the future, but if you’d still want to play it, I’d be down lol.

          • Solomon_Kano

Sure, why not. It’ll probably be a ways into the future, but if you’d still want to play it, I’d be down lol.

  • Valtiel Ikari

okay, this game is again in my radar, but xbox one not so much, maybe it can win me over with time (the console)

  • Hector Velar

looking good. all we need now is for xbone to sell soooo poorly that capcom will be forced to port it over to ps4 with more stuff added :D

    • Valtiel Ikari

dude, be careful with these types of comments, you could get banned for that, even if it is a funny way of saying a fact such as Xbox one not being popular right now, hence this game potentially selling badly.

      • Hector Velar

no it is logic. alot of games not being developed for wiiu because their poor idea of releasing a this gen console when their competitors will be releasing the next gem consoles wiithin a year. im agaist “exclusive” titles, because I feel is a bad decision software developers make, specially when there are no numbers of sales and thats a risky operation they make and that ultimatelly has the potential to affect game sales. not what I say will affect it. A poor decission by the developers on exclusive on a poorly managed gaming console. if gamers are not heard then sofware and hardware companies are never going to make good decisions. tah da

        • Valtiel Ikari

yeah, I know, I got your message, but the thing is, some mods (not all) could ban you since they wouldn’t botter to understand the content and context of your comment, disregarding it as one of their “no snarky one liners” rules, as long it’s a game they like (and a certain some one has a sweet spot for capcom and any dumb decision they take, and is bannerhappy with people who don’t agree with him) belive me, I have seen it

        • MrSirFeatherFang

@valtielikari:disqus is correct, be careful what you say next time.

          • Hector Velar

            very well notice taken

  • wahyudil

    love the game

must boy xbone? not a chance
