Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F Has A Release Date And Pre-Order Bonus

By Ishaan . July 30, 2013 . 9:35am

GameStop are offering an exclusive pre-order bonus for rhythm game Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F. Pre-ordering the game from them will allow you to avail a Snow Miku 2013 costume and a custom PlayStation 3 theme with ten backgrounds.

Additionally, GameStop also appear to have leaked the game’s release date—August 27th. Sega haven’t made an official announcement yet, but it appears that the publisher mentioned the date on their Facebook page, then subsequently took the news down.

PHEW I was worried it would be a bonus song or something.

  • DivinePhoenix69

Im torn between getting this, Tales of xillia, or Mario and Luigi…decisions decisions..

    • School Idol Addict

      Get them all!

      • Edzo04

        thats what im doing lol

      • DivinePhoenix69

Id love to but my budget is limited atm. I guess M&L can wait for a bit, but idk how limited the TOX “limited” edition is, and the bonuses for this game look really sweet.

        • VietKnight

The limited are first run copies and you the game comes out in a week.
Still can’t wait for Project Diva F to come out.

    • Elvick

This first, then Xillia, then M&L. :D

Hatsune Miku needs the support in the west the most. Xillia 2 is confirmed already, but Xillia selling is still import for Tales.

M&L is pretty much going to sell well in the long run. So it needs the same the least of them all.

Seeing how europe doesn’t have a retail copy, does anyone have ANY idea how much it will cost?

    • Demeanor

And any way for us to get the theme?

      • Patrick McAleer

If it’s the same, you can buy the theme off of the Japanese PSN for like 300 yen (not 100% on the price)

        • NeoStrayCat

It is 300 yen, same as the Snow Miku outfit, so both DLC’s would be like $6 together (or maybe less) if it comes to the PSN store in either US/EU if it does after release.

  • School Idol Addict

I’m more much excited for this game then i thought i would be.
27th August can’t come soon enough.

  • KuroNathan

    Brb canceling my amazon order.

  • Edzo04

i hate being forced to buy from gamestop

    • Kevadu

I haven’t bought a single thing from Gamestop in years but I just might have to now…

    • Keko

I hate not having a gamestop in my country.

      • Arcana Wiz

this so much. We dont have even the chance of getting this and some people are angry cause of where they have to buy it.

        • RichyGaming

I don’t hate gamestop because of how far away it is. I don’t like it because you get ripped off more often. I almost bought this one game for $40 at gamestop. But I didn’t, instead I went home to order the game at Amazon and found out that I could buy the limited edition for $20.

          • Arcana Wiz

But you can choose buying it without being ripped off or pre-ordering it on gamestop, I dont have the even the option off pre-ordering a game!

          • RichyGaming

            Well.. fuck

          • Hinataharem

You must be new to shopping. A LOT of things are cheaper online, ESPECIALLY Amazon. No one is ripping you off.

          • RichyGaming

Yup, things are cheaper online. But if I find a store where you buy something for a cheaper price than the other store, I consider the store that had the bigger price ripping me off with that item. What I’m trying to say is that Gamestop isn’t always the best place to buy games.

          • Hinataharem

I understand. I realize I could have worded my post a little better, not to sound like a jerk. If you don’t want the pre-order bonus, buy all means ignore Gamestop.

          • RichyGaming

Well, I don’t hate gamestop. I still like it, I still buy games and pre-order if its the store with the best stuff. I’m just picky with my money because I don’t want to spend an extra 10 bucks is all lol :). Btw I wasn’t even thinking of the pre-order bonus, I was just talking about Gamestop in general so you got me there.

      • chibidw

No you don’t. Trust me, no you don’t.

When you’re being charged by GameStop $90US for a used copy of Xenoblade Chronicles, you will quickly wonder why you ever even wished they’d come.

        • Keko

It’s not like I have any other options. I either wait for my local store to lower their extremely high prices, or I get ripped off by Amazon/ebay’s shipping prices.

I guess I’ll just miss this free stuff, then.

        • Herok♞

Xenoblade is $99 for the cheapest one for Amazon, you don’t seem to understand that games that are rare warrant a higher price tag, it not like they are ripping you off.

          • chibidw

You do realize that GameStop positioned themselves as the sole distributor of Xenoblade in the States, and released the game in intentionally limited quantities, right? Rather than issue a reprint due to the high demand of the game, they instead ballooned up the used price by 50% over new to cash in on the rarity and their position as the only retailer who will carry the game.

But of course, I’m sure you knew this already since you know enough to tell me what I do and don’t understand.

          • Herok♞

Yes Gamestop was the distributer of a game thats not debatable but they aren’t the people who would decide whether or not to make a reprint which is the publishers(Nintendo) job unless you really think Gamestop went wait we can get more copies or change how much we charge for it, price increase, no when they learned that the game was in low supply but higher demand and they weren’t getting more copies thats why its more expensive. Nintendo did say from the start that the sale of this would be a limited one, if you didn’t pick up on that you can’t complain about it after the game becomes rare. Think of Marvel vs Capcom 2 for PS2 before the game was released on PSN/Xbox live it was impossible to find so the price was really high in stores, after the second release the price went down because it wasn’t as valuable anymore, aka basic economics.

    • Herok♞

Your not being forced to buy from Gamestop its likely going to be sold in the PSN store later if you really hate them.

  • Sentsuizan_93

Hmm… I have a feeling the EU release may not be far off, so for EU, I estimate a 30th August release. (same as Killer is Dead)
Still, I wonder what the download price would be?

  • Jesse

August will be an expensive month. DX

  • Romored

Pity that Europe won’t have a physical copy. I would have bought it. I’m not very encouraged to buy right away when it comes to digital-only titles.

  • Mister_Nep

Gonna have to switch pre-orders later this week. It’s a small bonus, but considering it’s the same price everywhere I might as well get it from the store that gives me something extra.

  • Patrick McAleer

Darn, I already bought the theme from the Japanese PSN (at least it looks like the same theme, it might be different)

  • http://twitter.com/#!/Leafy_Cam Leafhopper

So that Vita version isn’t happening outside of Japan is it? :/

    • JuhRo

      Sadness..

    • RichyGaming

There’s going to be a vita version in Japan?

      • Haseyo

It’s been out on Vita in Japan since 2012.

      • TheExile285

Vita version came out before the PS3 version. Project Diva f 2 also has a Vita version.

  • ddh819

that mini controller (in the ads) doesn’t look so mini

    • http://www.unit03.net blackraen

You gotta compare it to the full controller. The full size one is bigger, has actual good quality buttons, and a touchpad (and is also very “out of print”).

The Hori “mini” controller uses shit buttons and has really weak construction, and uses analog sticks for scratch notes. I had the mini and go so fed up with it that I tore out the PCB and built my own custom play pad using Semitsu arcade buttons.

Definitely do not get the mini controller. It’s junk.

      • superdry

Out of the box the mini-controller is pretty wonky. I took out all the springs and it made the controller much more usable.

Thankfully, the buttons use quick disconnects to easily switch out the microswitch if needed like putting in some sanwa switches from the OBSF-30 buttons.

Regarding size, it comfortably fits on your lap.

        • http://www.unit03.net blackraen

I just took the PCB out and built my own controller using Seimitsu PS14 KNs. I’ve got a Sixaxis board that I’m going try building another one up around and use the actual arcade controller Sanwa OBSA-100UMQs.

What I really want to do is figure out a way to rig a touchpad (stripped from an old laptop) to module voltage on an analog stick line so that I can use an actual touch panel instead of stick flicking.

That mini controller just does not feel quality, even with the button mod. The fullsize controller uses pretty nice buttons though.

  • Ultimaniacx4

I love Miku more than i dislike Gamestop so I guess I have no choice…

  • http://www.segalization.com/ Kuronoa

    I’ll consider it.

  • http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/recognition/21421.html?type=4 Kashell

Damn! Now I have no choice but to get this from Game Stop. >_< I wonder what they'll ask me to pre-order after I get this…

    • Jesse Thompson

I feel the same way :)

    • Brandonmkii

Meh, I just buy stuff from them online now.

  • chibiwall

still waiting for a vita localization

  • Herok♞

I don’t see why being don’t like buying from Gamestop they are perfectly fine you just go in preorder stuff and then come back to pick it up.

    • Vesperion

The internet usually hates gamestop because you have to interact with *gasp* people.

But seriously though i like Amazon and all, but you can’t beat the convenience of traveling a mile and a half (in my case) to get the game you want

      • Herok♞

Yup, I am able to walk to my gamestop and walk back and get an worth of exercise in instead of having to wait a few days.

        • PersonaBull

Actually, Amazon has been really great for me to get games for. They have a system in place that will ship it to you so it gets to your house on the release day. I usually have the game waiting at my house by 11am, and this way I don’t have to waste time stopping at Gamestop on the way home from my full-time job.

          • Vesperion

yeah i used to do the .99 cent release day delivery till they stopped that. Even with my full-time job i’m not gonna pay more then i would have to.

On a unrelated note UPS like to play games with that yellow slip

          • Herok♞

sounds like that works well for you but isn’t release day shiping more.

        • RichyGaming

While you could just walk over to gamestop and walk back home with both what you wanted and had some excercise in, you could be saving more money ordering online (assuming its on a different store that has something for a cheaper price). And there’s 24 hours in a day to do excercise. Nothing wrong with going to gamestop btw. But your money is better somewhere else if its cheaper.

          • Herok♞

if I buy a new game like this day 1 its the same price everywhere and then it would cost extra money to ship on release day so thats not saving money

          • RichyGaming

Well Herok, if you were going to buy it Day 1 with everywhere having it with the same price then that’s a different argument.

          • Herok♞

I thought that it was obvious I meant day one this is the article for a game coming out new in a month, but if I were going to buy something like say Kingdom Hearts 2 I would go to Amazon first

          • RichyGaming

I completely forgot about the topic of this article. I was just talking about Gamestop, not the bonus or any of that stuff. I’m always going to aim for where it’s cheaper but if Gamestop has something no other store has then I’m going to buy off of their store.

          • Herok♞

            Ok that makes sense.

      • http://momentsreprieve.com/index/ Aushria

I have to travel over 45 minutes; yay North Dakota, to get to my local gamestop…and even if I don’t have a need to go in, I still do.

Since Amazon is nice and all, but nothing beats talking to Gamestop employees that have common interests. As several of the employees are hardcore otaku and JRPG fanatics, so it’s always nice to go in and chat for a bit.

        • Vesperion

True True. Outside of gamestop it can be tough to find JRPG/Anime games at other retail stores like Walmart, Best Buy, Target, ect.

Well unless your looking for DBZ, or Naruto

          • Testsubject909

Lucky here. Got 3 different Microplay stores in my area and they tend to be stocked in tons of rare goodies.

One of those Microplay is owned by someone who loves JRPGs so that store happens to have quite a few LEs or stocks quite a few usually rare to find JRPGs.

Hell, I think there’s still a few copies of SMT Nocturne there for the PS2 still shrink wrapped.

    • artemisthemp

The issue for International customers is that they have to pay Customs handling fee, which you won’t have to pay, if you order from Amazon.com.

I however conclude the Pre order bonus > Customs Handling fee.

      • Herok♞

Well that is a different story then if Gamestops are easily accessible, which shouldn’t lead to hate.

  • Charles

“GameStop are offering an exclusive pre-order bonus”

    /sigh Figures.

  • Barrylocke89

Preorder aside, does anyone else think that it’s a little sad that the date had to be leaked for people to find out when it’s coming out? I mean, it’s coming out in a month. Get the hype train out of the station, SEGA of America!

  • FetusZero

Have had my pre-order at GameStop (or rather, EB Games here in Canada) placed for a while now.

Having placed it before the exclusive bonuses were announced.. think it’ll affect my order?

    • NeoStrayCat

Probably not, even if you pre-ordered before the bonuses were mentioned, they probably would include the DLC (on receipt) after you get it. And yes, EB Games will have the bonus as well. :3

      • FetusZero

Yep went and checked the site :]

Hopefully you’re right. I actually never had such a situation happen before lol, normally I wait for the collector’s to be announced and order them off of the official websites (when applicable), but I had my doubts about a possible collector’s for this game >_>

        • NeoStrayCat

Yeah, but keep in mind (unsure though) that JP didn’t get a LE version of PD-F (PS3 ver.), so I’d suggest it be the same here (but you never know with a NA kind of LE).

But since the game is coming in a couple weeks, I think it’s a little too late for that unless they could have announced it a while back. Anyways, at least the pre-order stuff together would cost about $6, so the only thing they would put up are the extra modules from the JP version.

  • http://epiclyamazing.wordpress.com/ AzureNova

Hmm, I might have to switch my pre-order unless Amazon is going to offer something as well. Also, Amazon has had the release date as August 27th for the longest time lol. I know because that’s where mine is pre-ordered at the moment lol.

  • ScytheX3

august release date has been announced forever -_-

    • DS23

The exact day hasn’t been know though…

  • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

    And my PSV Western release~?

    • ShadowDivz

PS3 only. Which sux because im better on portables.

      • Testsubject909

I imported Diva F. It’s easy to play on the Vita.

And I’ma be pre-ordering the NA PS3 one now.

        • ShadowDivz

isn’t small “f” the vita one?
Yeah, im better on vita. I think it’s because i can actually see the buttons. Im glad the Project diva series is getting some love outside japan. I wonder what this will lead to…

  • http://www.youtube.com/Lyonharvestmoonfan Eduardo Rocha

I think that’s just a place-holder, Gamestop always does that stuff.

    • Haseyo

The only placeholder they use is “December 2013″ or “January 2014.”

They never use random dates as a placeholder unless they were told by the producers themselves.

  • Anesia Hunter

I am so excited and happy for this right now. I gotta pre-order this ASAP!!

  • Fox

Somehow, $50 just seems like too much to me.

Maybe it’s because I already have the Vita version.
