Rising Star Renew Partnership With Idea Factory For Hakuouki, Mystery Game

By Ishaan . July 30, 2013 . 12:35pm

Rising Star Games have renewed their partnership with Idea Factory to bring two of their games to PAL territories.

The first is Hakuouki: Memories of the Shinsengumi, a Nintendo 3DS port of Hakuouki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom with added content. The second game is a mystery for now. Rising Star say they’ll announce this game at a later date.

“We are delighted to be working with Idea Factory again,” said Martin Defries, managing director of Rising Star Games.

“Their reputation is well deserved and the games we have signed from them are the perfect example of fresh and exciting Japanese creativity that has made Rising Star Games so successful over the years.”

In North America, Hakuouki: Memories of the Shinsengumi will be published by Aksys Games.

I’m guessing the unnanouced title is Holy Sorcery Story seeing as Idea Factory is involved.

    “Their reputation is well deserved”?
Many otome gamers I know actually complain about the horrible systems a lot of the games are built around.

    • Pinkemon

Yeah, I wasn’t aware that Idea factory ever made a game that was better than just “okay”.

At least, I sure wasn’t all that impressed with Trinity universe.

I just looked up Idea Factory to see what their game list is like, but instead I learned that it’s made up for former Data East employees? Damn! I would never have been able to tell that just going off the games. I really wish they’d make more games like the awesome ones they made at Data East… Windjammers, Magical Drop, Joe and Mac, Fighter’s History…

      “It’s well deserved” they say

I’ve never seen anyone complain about ideal factory game beyond their story content, ideal factor games are always the games that get pushed by fans to get released.

  • Juli

I’m not sure what they are clearly saying? Is there another game coming?

  • SpectralRaiden

I’ve been sudying Japanese language and culture on-and-off for the past 2 years (though I’m still not very good yet:-P), and I know it’s paid off so far because the minute I saw those characters’ costumes I immediately identified them as the ShinsengumiXD

  • Mordina

YAY! I’m really happy! Was so scared it wouldn’t reach Europpe, now I can finally relax some. Limited Edition please Rising Star!

    • Akuosa

This. I was lamenting the 3DS being region locked, because I really didn’t thought this would be comming to Europe… this was such a nice surprise.

  • Alexandra Cordes

Keep the otome games coming! >w<
I will buy every single one.
…Okay, unless it's full of cruddy guys.

  • Rini11

    Instant buy for me:)
Keep the Otome games coming Europe needs them:):)

  • landlock

It seems Rising Star has a deal with Aksys Games since it handles alot of there games now.

  • Neppygear

Not that I don’t support this sudden influx of otome games, but… there’s like a million non-Hakuoki games that never get localised. :’I
