Sonic Lost World is headed to the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS this October, and the game will have co-op multiplayer, Sega have revealed via a new trailer. This is in addition to being able to race against other players in 2-player Versus races.

Additionally, the trailer reveals that in Europe, the game will get a “Deadly Six Edition” on Wii U, featuring exclusive stages inspired by another iconic Sega game—NiGHTS into Dreams. The exclusive stages look to be using bosses from the NiGHTS series.

Sega Europe’s trailer indicates that the Sonic Lost World Deadly Six Edition will be released in limited quantities, and will be available via pre-order or while stocks last. Meanwhile, Sega America haven’t announced the Deadly Six Edition for North America yet.

Sonic Lost World will be available on October 18th in Europe and October 22nd in North America for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

Good to see a proper multiplayer mode in a Sonic game and the extra content sounds good, not so sure about the limited quantities of the Deadly Six Edition even if I am in the UK or any form of DLC locking of decent content pre release.

I suppose the coop multiplayer on the lines of Galaxy or NSMBU is cool too.

    ”in limited in limited quantities”?

  • grayson gee

My guess is that eventually this will become DLC and Europe decided to make it apart of a pre-order bonus pack.

  • I like what I see, pretty excited for that 2 player versus race

I heard Tails’ voice, but I didn’t see him anywhere.

I wish they’d make him a playable character again. Especially since he has a voice actor who’s actually good now, which means that his various gameplay sounds no longer make me want to tear my ears off.

Tails will only be in cutscenes and talking to you.

      Sonic only playable character.

      • Spirit Macardi

That’s kind of lame though. Contrary to how most people seem to feel, I actually like Sonic’s various friends since they offer alternative forms of play.

Don’t like speeding around; then how about flying? What about gliding and climbing? Maybe hitting stuff with a hammer is more up your alley?

        • Daniel Jeanbaptiste

It gonna be like Colors. Sonic only playable.

  • MasterScrub

NiGHTS bosses? That sounds pretty legit.

Glad to see some NiGHTS fanservice, poor franchise is so underated

so is the 3DS game a port of the Wii U game or is it somewhat different like Smash 3DS?

    • British_Otaku

As usual, the portable Sonic sharing the name of a console one is only similar in a name only sort of way (see Sonic Colours and Generations). For what it’s worth, it is the first portable Sonic with 3D platforming though, even if it is looks like a worse version of the experience instead of a 99% 2D Sonic Rush version of the experience.

    • Daniel Jeanbaptiste

      no. It entirely different.
      Different level but same story.

      Wii U = Sonic Team
      3DS = Dimps

    Only europe..?
    Only… europe?

      They’re bluffing!
      …I hope…

  • Shiloh Emerald

I wouldn’t mind if this was DLC. It’d be cool if Nights was playable for a few stages maybe linking the two series.
Would still kill to be able to play Knuckles again…

This was just confirmed by SEGA of America to be releasing in North America as well, as the ‘Deadly Six Bonus Edition’. Can’t wait!
