Last month, Square Enix shared a video of the lower-level dungeons in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. This week at Gamescom, they’ve shared a similar video tour, this time focusing on the game’s higher-level dungeons. Watch it below:

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will launch on August 27th on PC and PlayStation 3.

    Poor Tonberry.

  • Demeanor

Looks cool, game preordered, looking forward to try it out. Only downside, I’m planning to play in party with a friend and we’ll have to jump through some hoops to have voice chat >_>

    • Kari

just have skype or some voip and its all good

      • Demeanor

Yeah the trick is, I’ll play this on PS3 and my PC is WAY far from my console, and I use a gaming headset for game audio; to use skype I’d have to use some earbuds + mic (only got earbuds atm) and connect them to a smartphone with Skype, and jam an eabud under the headset. >_> not really the best setup, any better idea would be most welcome.

        • Your problems will be over when the PS4 version is released. Party Chat. Ohh yeah.

  • So gorgeous =^_^=

It’s only a matter of time until a certain purple octopus shows up… .

    • Son Hoang

Imagine him popping up while fishing in a special area? As a hidden FATE? That would be a freaky and awesome encounter!

      • Only Female characters get to participate.

I enjoyed the OB a lot, despite not knowing what the hell I was supposed to be doing. I’m not a huge mmo guy, but I’ll try it, at the least.

Glad the dungeons included the Empire areas, definitely hyped for this game now. Also gives more hope for an “Empireish class” of some sort later, like a Magitek user or something.

And “UGH” horrible flashbacks of Omega Weapon in FFXI, I saw that leg and already can foresee the arguments its going to cause in game haha.

  • Wondering when they’ll tell us a PS4 release date so I actually have something to count down to…

    • The PS4 version’s release date will only be factored once DX11 is released for PC.

      • Direct X11? Can I ask how that factors into it?

        • Well, Yoshida and the devs say that DX11 is what will be used in all PS4 Square releases. Basically, it’s about the enhanced graphical performances that the extension will bring. Also, every excuse about the Character Creator being as it is, is because of the limitations of the PS3 and current engine. And that DX11 will make upgrades to those systems actually work.

I don’t know, I am only looking forward to DX11 because it will help them implement the Butt Sliders, which will not be available at launch. They have the request on hold, you know! Apparently, Bust sliders are easy, and butt sliders are an obstacle to overcome. Heh, everyone has to deal with flapjacks for a few months!

Dammit!!! Can’t believe that I watched more than 3 minutes of the video thinking “This is a nice side I hadn’t seen from FFXIII-3 if they added these nice bosses and areas I might give it a shot after all”

What a fool, I guess I deserve it for opening a bunch of posts without reading the headlines well.
