*Patiently awaiting WiiU Zelda bundle* Worry not, childhood! I’m a comin’ for ya!

    • AkuLord3

      Can i join :3?

      • TheGioG

Can you handle the childhood memories?! If so, then all aboard the King of Red Lions, where an ocean of win awaits only the bravest souls! :D

    • JoJo_649

Never played it, because fate always stood in my way, first my dad said no when i was younger, my cousin didn’t want to let me borrow it, but finally, after more than 10 years, I’ll be able to play it!!!

      • GH56734

Didn’t have a GameCube back then, so I’d gaze at magazines drolling… Thanks goodness for Wii retro-compatibility

  • Syltique

No hearts in the grass. Wow.

    • Chaos_Knight

Have you even played Skyward Sword?

    • AuraGuyChris

Quite frankly, you don’t find symbolic hearts in real life. Where do you live?

    • Kitestwinblades

      Nope. Just…

  • KingGunblader

I’ve beaten this game enough times to start with Hero Mode right off the bat. Should be a fun challenge.

I couldn’t be bothered to slog through Skyward Sword a second time, so this’ll be my first experience with this new mode.

    • 하세요

Same. It’s gotten to the point where I only kill bosses with everything but my sword, if possible. I do Boomerang Only when I fight bosses (for the ones that can take damage from it)

  • Kelohmello

Awesome. I think Hero mode should be a staple in Zelda games from now on. Most of them are honestly way too easy and could use a challenge boost, even if it’s just an increase in damage.

The point at which someone on the Zelda team decided that damage dealt in 1/4-hearts should be a thing was the point when the series started to get insultingly easy.

      • DCBlackbird

Absolutely this was extremely prevalent in windwaker. Especially since the biggest challenge you’ll receive is the endless pit of monsters on outset.

        • Kitestwinblades

          Let alone a Raging pig…
          To the Ocean! ─=≡Σ((( つ°□°)つ

An option for increased difficulty is long overdue for Zelda (Wind Waker especially) but I hope they actually bothered to balance the game instead of just slapping a few modifications on and calling it “hard mode”. I can see this option going horribly wrong if they didn’t.

    • GH56734

Attacking the black pig in Outset island will cause him to attack you and deplete 3 HEARTS, EACH TIME he hits you. stronger even than Ganondorf. From the trailers, they didn’t really rebalance the game, so I’d guess it’s… 6 hearts per attack in Hero Mode?
But seriously the challenge is very lacking in the main game: you didn’t have the boss die from 3 attacks in Alttp and OoT, also the enemies sword attacks were not dealing one quarter of a heart, such damage was usually for minor damage from projectiles.
This game, and then Twilight Princess was ridiculous in this aspect, and it’s only with the DS games somewhat then Skyward Sword that they tried doing more sane balancing for the main game, to make a Game Over screen a real concern rather than a rarity
(being rammed over by a giant horned blood-thirsty beast running at high speed then ripping you apart with said horns? Being sliced by a whirling maniac with a pair of blades tearing you? only 1/4 heart depleted! Don’t worry there are eight conveniently placed pots with 1 heart each)

  • abysswalker

But you can still save and reload right? Because if you only have one life for the entire game… well… that would be just plain masochistic imo…

  • AndyLC

    “PREPARE TO LIVE”

    • Kitestwinblades

This is just gonna make the counter system just that more satisfying and useful! Now just 3 heart the entire game and BAM Dark Souls indeed!

      • Mike

I believe there’ll be heart containers, just not hearts that refill lost health.

i am pretty excited about this game! i just wish/expected the price point to be more 40-ish than 50-ish. i hope there is secretly more content(even though the original really is sufficient).

  • Fintlook

I’m happy it will get an hero mode, this will give players a good reason to use life potion for once and it will be a nice change for people who already beaten the game.

  • Sentsuizan_93

The Legend of Zelda: Prepare to Die Edition. ;P

    • http://strictlyapathy.comoj.com/ SoulArbiter

      Indeed!

  • Ardus

Man HD windwaker looks real pretty.

  • Prinnydoom

Hmm but won’t you still get heart containers? Soooooo you can recover or maybe they just take out heart containers too. -__- Man that be difficult.

  • LBattle0819

Well, better buy a shitload of potions

  • SaiyanJedi_Trunks

This interests me…especially the limited edition with Ganondorf figure. However, since I never really played this game…do you have the standard potions as in previous games? If so, I am full in on hero mode!

    • http://www.hamstapowah.com/ Zaron

Aye. Red, Green, Blue. Prepare to hunt Chu Chus for their delicious jellies.

      • SaiyanJedi_Trunks

Nice! Hero mode will be where I start then!

  • Thom

Yeah well my cousin makes $52/hour online plus she gets a free car every day and puppies and kitties call her every night to sing her Backstreet Boys songs before bed.
