Production studio Area 5 have released a lengthy 25th anniversary documentary on the Street Fighter franchise, featuring a number of well-known names involved with the series over the years, from developers to players to tournament commentators. Watch the hour-long documentary below:

The documentary was completed in time to be included with the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary boxed set, but is now available for viewing on YouTube. Capcom’s next Street Fighter release will be Ultra Street Fighter IV, which is slated for release in early 2014 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

    wow nice watch!

Interesting! I guess I’ll have something to watch later on tonight. :>

Someone uploaded it unofficially on Youtube last year.

Is it the same that came with the SF Anniversary box? If so… it’s OK. But just OK.

I found it kind of boring, heh. But I guess when you sell a documentary that’s for fans in a box set that only fans would probably buy… it makes a little more sense on YouTube. Eventually it just feels like a love letter to a very specific group of fans, which I think betrays the name of the documentary.

Yeah, I was kinda expecting more of the documentary back then, too…

        • BlueTree

Same. It’s just kind of irritating to see, because it’s such self-affirmation, and I think we kind of are at that point where “Yeah, competitive gaming is a thing, thanks.”
