Injustice: Gods Among Us Patch To Strengthen "Lower Tier" Characters

By Ishaan . September 5, 2013 . 9:30am

As previously reported, Injustice: Gods Among Us is set to receive a balance patch in the future. Yesterday, NetherRealm Studios co-founder Ed Boon shared a little bit about one of the things the patch will do.

“New Injustice balance patch coming soon that strengthens a number of characters some might have considered ‘lower tier’,” Boon said over Twitter. “For example: LOBO!”

In reply to a fan requesting that Bane be “buffed,” Boon replied, “I think you’re going to be pleased….”

Additionally, Noob also confirmed that new Injustice character skins are on the way as well, although he didn’t comment on just when this content could be expected.

  • They better buff Green Arrow.

    • Sam Backhouse

The character that made it to grand finals at evo? :P

  • MB_cl

Glad to see they re still working on balancing this game. Btw is Noob Boon s nickname? I m sure I read somewhere those names were related.

    • zaidandzhadow

It’s boon backwards, and tobias= Noob Saibot

      • MB_cl

I m ashamed for not remembering that. Thank you.

  • Richard N

    Where’s my Flaming C skin!?!

  • leingod

They should fix Zatanna’s face while they’re at it.

That goes for all the women lol

      • fearlubu

Not just the women, but all the characters. The characters’ faces in this game just arent good. I think that its a part of this game’s art style, actually.

Anywho, although I think they look bad, I don’t think any of them should be fixed except for Zatanna. Not everyone looks pretty, and I think that’s what this game is trying to show. Except Zatanna. There’s something oh so wrong with her face, man.

Speaking of “all”, NetherRealm should find someone new to do their animation. Every MK game (and now Injustice) has some really stiff moving characters. It’s almost as if there are frames missing when they transition from move to move.

          • leingod

Yeah, I’ve noticed the same thing ever since the MK games on PS2/XBOX/GC. They kinda fixed the walking animations in Injustice, but some attacks, and specially opponents bouncing on the floor still look wrong.

    • Shady Shariest

      “It’s not a bug, it’s a feature” ‘m afraid :(

I’ve never seen a fighting game get patched this many times in such a short time span.

    • Skode

Better this than waiting six months at a time like you do with Capcom. The only real drawback is it sometimes doesnt allow characters room to breathe and settle when you consider how loud the whiners can get when it comes to nerf > actually learning how to beat the character.

  • Divine Higgins

I wonder if they’ll buff shazam. He’s my main amd he didn’t get much of anything

  • Tonton Ramos

So who will be the remaining 2 DLC characters?

    • leingod

I’m hoping Power Girl is one of them, but I’m afraid she’ll be ugly as hell just as Zatanna :/

  • Shippoyasha

Bane is actually pretty overpowering though. The only issue he has is closing distance to foes. but when he’s up close, he’s too good.
