Ragnarok Online 2 Gets A New Playable Race This Week

By Ishaan . September 10, 2013 . 1:49pm

Ragnarok Online 2: Legend of the Second is receiving an update in North America, which will introduce the game’s first playable non-human race of characters—the Noel.

The Noel update will be released tomorrow, September 11th. The Noel are an Elf-like race that start out by using melee attacks as well as area ranged attacks. At level 25, they can choose to become either Crecentia or Soul Makers.

Crecentia will continue to use a number of Alter skills, with the addition of debuff skills as well. Meanwhile, Soul Makers give up Alter skills for death magic, healing abilities and strengthening buffs. You can watch a trailer for the Noel update above.

Unless this update also changes the gameplay from being complete and utter crap then no thanks.

RO2 really is the Duke Nukem Forever of MMOs. It was in development forever, scrapped and restarted numerous times, and when it finally saw release it was a disappointing mess that had less features than the beta versions from years ago.

So who remembers that retarded mistake they made regarding titles? I sure do. I believe it was called the Founder Title.

Well I like the new race, but not the game itself lol

The only good thing from the game is they get Yoko Kanno as composer.

      • NightzeroAX

        Indeed.

no point on playing it, it’s THAT bad, RO1 was much better than RO2v1 and RO2v2

thats shameful i really like the artstyle

Indeed, I held some reservations about it and actually said some positive things about it coming to Steam, not knowing anything about it. Do I feel embarrassed about those positive remarks now.

I tried playing it for a few hours and it was an absolutely horrible MMORPG. Completely and utterly boring and unmemorable. I really want to like more Korean MMORPGs because I love the anime artstyle that comes out of their games. But they make it hard with so much cut and paste mediocrity like this.

Tera is a good game. And I’m looking forward to Blade & Soul. But Ragnarok Online 2 is nothing but an exercise in frustration and boredom. I played Ragnarok Online 2 and it was so bad that I didn’t feel like playing video games at all for half a week or longer. Complete lethargy inducing experience.

Elsword is a popular Korean MMO. You can try it if you like.

The original makers of Ragnarok Online are long gone anyways.

I played it on NA up to lvl-capped Rogue, not to mention, rogue class is a complete rip-off from World of Warcraft(played it for 3+ years, but started WoW in 2008) with abilities like Preparation,Vanish,Premeditation,Mutilate and other stuff.
When you hit lvl cap there’s nothing to do for you there, unlike World of Warcraft, there’s no PvP,there’s no PvE(PvE in RO is a gear-check and easier, than 5ppl heroics in WoW).
When i was playing WoW,i mostly sit on 2200-2300+ arena ratings in 3×3/5×5,so i count myself as a competitive PvP player. If you want PvP,forget this game is even exist.
p.s.Please,don’t mention Colosseum and WoE here.Colosseum is a joke(after some wins and S ranks in Colosseum i deleted the game almost instantly).WoE is 1-time-a-week PvP event, this is not right,i don’t want to login 1 time in a week to play for 2 hours.
