Devil Survivor 2 Hits Europe In October

By Ishaan . September 26, 2013 . 1:04pm

U.K. publisher Ghost Light have provided an update on the release of Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 in Europe.

Ghostlight say they expect Devil Survivor 2 to be dispatched on October 11th, and they will begin sending orders out to those that pre-ordered the game from October 15th.

They add that they’re still accepting pre-orders for Devil Survivor 2, and anyone that pre-orders will receive the “Gold Edition” of the game, available from the Ghostlight Store.

Isn’t Europe known for suffering? You can’t give them good news!

    • AkuLord3

They need some Atlus light for the end of road

And, in a pinch, Ghost light.

        Ah. Ah. Ah.

    • Abysswalker90

I would have virtually slapped you, but unfortunately you’re spot on. T-T

I make the comment sarcastically, but all I hear in most of these articles dealing with localization is Europe being left out in the cold.

And now that it’s not…I don’t see many comments at all.

        • InfectedAI

They’re getting Bravely Default late 2013 while North America gets it early 2014.

          • Rob Wu

I think the EU release was pushed back in line with the NA release.

          • TheRealMalek

we “supposely get bravely default in 2013″, it still don’t have a release date and there is only three month left…

          • InfectedAI

Will probably be a holiday release at the very end of the year.

  • AuraGuyChris

I guess it’s fitting for them to have this now. The updated release for the 3DS has fallen pretty silent…

    • TheRealMalek

it’s still not out in japan and my guess is that they are finishing it. It will; be out soon enough in japan.

      • AuraGuyChris

It’s still TBA as of now, and they said they had to delay the release when it couldn’t come out at the end of the anime adaptation.

      • Espoir

The release is supposed to be this Fall, but still no news whatsoever.

        • TheRealMalek

I’m guessing a mid winter release, i guess the devil survivor oc europe fiasco made them review a little their coding

  • Neppygear

Oh. Guess I’ll have to dig up my DS by October 15, then.

  • Virevolte

European, but played it more than a year ago…
…not proud of it but they’re just taking too much time…

Awright, guess that’s when I can expect a double dose of Ghostlight goodness on my doorstep. I’ve actually only recently tested out the Devil Survivor series AND have managed to keep myself unspoiled. As such the preorder offer came at the exact right time for me- I’m just glad it got off the ground so I actually got my garms.

  • British_Otaku

Great to read. According to the update that you linked to, they may be doing some sort of sale on their older titles, I’m sure it’s too soon for the limited edition of Overclocked to be included but that would be nice since I sat on it before after hearing about the bugs. >_>

Apparently they have got another 3DS game lined up for localisation which we will find out soon, I guess even if Ghostlight have been rough around the edges it’s good to see smaller companies do well.

Not sure we said what format the new project we talk about is on. It might be a 3DS game or it might be something else.

      • British_Otaku

It was two weeks ago here: http://blog.ghostlight.uk.com/post/devil-survivor-2–where-are-we-now

You said this in the blog: “That’s all for now. I must dash, as I’m expecting a new 3DS game to land on my desk for evaluation. :)”

And commented further that “Can’t say yet but if we manage to get it I’ll post more :)…” in response to a user saying this “Woo, new 3DS game, can’t wait to know what it is!”. Judging from that, it may still be in the workings but it was definitely under heavy consideration. Of course, I expect publishers to be quiet when something not formally announced doesn’t work out though… >_>

Regardless, either you forgot what you said few weeks ago and were being helpful but evasive as publishers must all be, or I accidentally baited you into announcing another project which may be on the 3DS or it might be something else.

I’m looking forward to it either way and will look into more of Ghostlight’s library.

        • Ghostlight_Ross

Oh that sorry. I was thinking of this week’s blog where we say something about a potential new game :)

    • Ghostlight_Ross

  • Detrimont

why did the make the title gold on the cover, it looks terrible
    (sorry, graphic design student)

but anyway… even though i am in a PAL region, stores here in NZ(meaning NZ online game stores) stocked the US version, so i already own it.

    • British_Otaku

It’s probably so the people who were desperate to support the game like me, end up double dipping and buying either Normal Edition from them or the US or perhaps wait for the normal edition of Devil Survivor 2 Break Record when that finally gets done in Japan, the States and all.

It’s more than reasonable that you own it already given how long Europe waited, I wouldn’t hold it against you even if they failed to get all of the preorders to make the full release happen. I’m that guy who imported Brawl because there wasn’t a date for that, but a date for Mario Kart (not interested when Japan and America have Brawl)… :P

  • AnimusVox

    *gives EU a high five*

  • Tom

I really hope this movement shows bigger companies a good example of how to do localization. No risk, no kickstarter. If the preoder reaches a certain number that means green. Awesome!
