I would assume the $30 bonus for owning SMT4 and FE:A is over?

    • AuraGuyChris

      Yes, it’s over.

    • raymk

It was over by august 29th

  • EdgeKun

$10 off is better than nothing, so kind of glad I waited! Been meaning to get off my butt and finally pick this up anyway! :3

  • urbanscholar

Have you said to yourself “Wow, all the RPGs I’ve played have kind of easy? Feels like I’m playing on auto-pilot. Where’s the challenge?”

Well do I have a game for you It’s called Shin Megami Tensei IV! And you’re in luck friend, Siliconera has told us SMTIV is $10 cheaper!

This has been a PSA from all the good folks that like good RPGs out there in the world ; )

    • ( `Д´)ノ)`ν゜)

What a joke. The difficulty in SMT4 was noticeably lowered from previous games. The removal of a defensive stat only led to oneshot or get oneshot, in the literal sense.

      • Lordshade

Its harder than the first two games. SMT 1 And 2 are overated in terms of difficulty. Charm bullets waste everything, and very few bosses are immune. Hell, in SMT 1 the heroine learns Zionga, which, if you focus on agility, means anything that doesn’t resist lightning can never get a move.

      • eli-boo’s waifu

ONLY ONE SHOT, ONLY ONE SHOT! *starts singing B.A.P*

  • Tatsuya Fabre

Yeah still waiting on that game thanks Atlus.

  • Edralo

Meanwhile, in Europe, we still wait for SMT IV.. Makes me sad

  • shuyai

it is kinda sad that i am still waiting for Fire emblem awakening to drop from £33

  • ( `Д´)ノ)`ν゜)

how generous to sell the game at actual value in the pretense of a discount

  • Aaron K Stone

Hey! Still waiting here in Europe.

  • Periklis

Um, helloooo! Nintendo guys… Europe here… Mind giving us at least release dates for those 3 rpgs? You know , we pay for those games too. And most of them , at a higher price!

  • Xaltmas

I’m torn. This, or wait for Rune Factory 4? While I have no doubts SMTIV is amazing, RF4 has waifus….

    • TheExile285

      Rune Waifu Factory 4!!!!!!

    • Daniel Jeanbaptiste

      both

  • malek86

I’ve seen the eShop screenshots for those Inazuma Eleven games. They look like DS games with some applied filtering and widescreen graphics. Kinda weird, to be honest. I know they were originally DS games, but still.

Also the european Wii U eShop is seriously one of the most depressing things ever.

    • British_Otaku

You shouldn’t expect them to polish up the visuals for a quick Europe exclusive release though, I assume they are only targeting the 3DS because it gets more shelf space and presence even if everyone with a 3DS has a DS.

The 1-2-3 trilogy on the 3DS (Japan only because) which I have probably did the same thing, and the IE3 for Europe on 3DS probably just took the third portion. They were fired out to profit quickly in Japan aside for the IE Go series, it stands to reason that even in Japan they had little reason to do much besides a menu to pick the 6 games, an overall intro for the trilogy and not much else.

I think the European 3DS eShop is pretty slow, so I can only imagine how the Wii U’s one is… >_>

  • Gyro Zeppeli

This shouldn’t be a temporary discount, this is what the game should normally cost on the eShop. The only reason it’s $50 at retail is because it comes in a box with the strategy guide and mini soundtrack.

    • Pyne

that and because people continue to buy them at that price. Still can’t wrap my mind around the concept of 3DS games being $10 more expensive on average than PS Vita games.

      • domonkun

What’re you talking about? 3DS games are about $40 at launch, same as Vita. SMT4 was the only exception, because the people who really wanted it were willing to pay that much for it (me included).

Not to mention they gave us that nice $30 promo that they didn’t have to do AT ALL.

        • Pyne

sorry, my bad. I assumed that as SMT4 was $50 that all games were more or less that price.

  • Matthew Brannock

so it’s the price it should have been to begin with?

  • Virevolte

Meanwhile, In Europe, we’re getting this : “Around the World with Hello Kitty and Friends”. Haha…

  • Brion Valkerion

Cool, gotta be sure to grab it when I get my 3DS/pokemon y

  • Seta Soujiro

why is megaten4 normally worth $50 on the eshop? don’t get me wrong, i have the game and love it but the $50 entry fee was justified only for the physical version because of the artbook/strategy guide + OSTs CD.

i love Atlus but charging $50 for a digital version of a 3DS game IS greedy and unfair.

  • TheExile285

Picked the LE up today at GameStop. Lucky~

  • HatUnderBread

Where is the 40$ SMT 4?
Not seeing it on the Nintendo eShop…
