Bravely Default will released in Europe on December 6th, Nintendo announced this morning during a Nintendo Direct presentation. Meanwhile, North America will get the game sometime during the first quarter of 2014.

Additionally, Nintendo also showed off a new trailer for Bravely Default, featuring the game’s characters, which you can watch above.

As previously reported, the version of Bravely Default being released in the west is an updated version of the original game with a number of enhancements, such as new story events, the ability to adjust the game’s encounter rate, animation during dialogue and more.

YAY i’ve been waiting for a release date… also can’t wait to see what’s in the collectors edition. October/pokemon , november/ A link to the past december/bravely default!

  • KHSoraKeyBlade

I was happy that they finally announced the release date but even more delighted that they also announced a collector’s edition! :D

  • X14

I’m really hoping the audio wasn’t indicative of the final product.
The vocal quality was horrific, hopefully since it’s dual audio they didn’t have to reduce both tracks to a lower quality to compensate for that.

    • SerendipityX

Yeah, that audio quality was scary, dub issues aside.

  • RovCal

    WAIT WHAt?,COLLECTORS EDITION?… European 3ds purchase confirmed.

    • Neophoton

Where’d you see that mentioned in the trailer?

      • RovCal

ah I Googler it after seeing comments. siliconera forgot to mention. pre order bonus is an art book. and collectors for Europe!

        • Neophoton

Ah, that explains! I wasn’t sure if I was just misreading something or what not.

Nice to see Europeans get something. :D It makes me wonder if they’ll do something similar for the Japanese release? I’d hate to buy the game all over again (in the sense I was only going to get the DLC expansion), but then it’d be hard to say “no” to something really nice…

          • RovCal

Na I doubt it. and dude I am getting an European 3ds for this!.. I already own the ost btw. but will get the collectors and if its too awesome will not unwrap it :'( and buy again gosh I am crazy

    *marks 6th December on Calendar*
    BRING IT ON!!!!!

  • Release date + Artbook + Collector’s Edition =

  • Neophoton

Typo in the article: Is it “will be released” or “will release”?

  • Asrialys

Hm…was that Cheremi Leigh as Edea? Or Cristina Vee…?

  • SirRichard

This is the news I was hoping to see, I’m so glad it’s coming even if it is basically right at the end of the year. And there’s a Collector’s Edition to boot, going by the comments?

You sure know how to bring over JRPGs, NOE. These days, anyway.

  • flameraver64

Has it been clarified what exactly the battle system will be like? Are they removing the turn-based battle system and replacing it with the new battle system?

    • British_Otaku

I don’t have it in my hands to be sure, but it seems to be still turn based like the original but have the option to speed things up more than in the original, it’s not going to run like Tales or anything.

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

Delicious Cassandra Morris and Spike Spencer. This is gonna be an amazing dub. I hope it isn’t half-done.

    • Malon

Who gives his/her voice to who exactly haha ?

      • FitzpatrickPhillips

Cassandra Morris is Edea and Spike Spencer is Ringabell.

  • Day 1, thanks for the dual audio :D

  • Prinnydoom

    Hell yes ^____^

  • HerosLight

Edea’s voice actor sounds really familiar.

    Who is her voice actor?

    • Prinnydoom

I can only tell who one of them is which is bryce papenbrook as Tiz the others are all new to me. Which is good.

  • British_Otaku

The collector’s book and limited edition sounds nice, but not as impressive as this…

That said, I should wait before I start ordering three versions of this game… For the Sequel is such an amusing name, it deserves a spot on my shelf even if they made a good move of selling it for near half price (2,900 yen) on the Japanese E-Shop.

    • TheExile285

      ………I MUST HAVE THIS!!!!!

      Don’t let NA down SE/Nintendo!

  • British_Otaku

Oh and I know it’s much easier to just pay attention to one Nintendo Direct over three or four of them, but could you report on European, American and Japanese news together when you can Siliconera?

Even if it is something as simple as mentioning every single date that Sonic Lost World releases on in this article ( ).

  • TheExile285

    The hype rises~

  • Engi3Piece

So I’m watched the trailer and I’m pretty positive now that its not the dubbing its the audio quality. If anybody notice before they show the characters in game you heard a bit of dubbing before they play the in game dubbing. Between those few seconds the audio drastically changes. I’m hopping that when you actually sit down and play the game the quality is much better. Because despite that the dubbing is pretty good once you get pass the audio quality

  • Masa

    Please be dual audio!

    • MrSirFeatherFang

It was already confirmed to to have dual audio…

    • Slayven19

Confirmed at least a month ago.

    • PlayLife

If you watch the trailer with some good eyes, you can see the confirmation of dual audio in there :)

  • NimbusStev

This is great news for everyone who’s been begging for a Western release. It sounds pretty cool but I have to admit, I’m not really a fan of the graphic style. I just don’t like that dis-proportionate, big-head style that they went with in FF3 and FF4 on DS. It looks so silly. Hopefully everything else about the game is as good as I’ve heard though.

  • Samsara09

    Como to papa,my little gem.

  • Göran Isacson

Ha ha wow, Ringabels voice actor sounds awesome! Pretty much exactly the voice I would cast for a guy like that.

Also it’s a bit funny that all three have such fantastic motivations, save the world, find out the truth of his villages destruction, uncover the mystery of the future book… and then there’s one girl who just wants to make her father proud. I guess that there’s more to it than that, but the others sure have flashier motivations.
