Metal Gear Rising PC Version Is Still Coming

By Ishaan . October 2, 2013 . 2:21am

Don’t worry, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is still coming to PC, even though Konami haven’t uttered its name in a while. Hideo Kojima tweeted about the PC version of the game today.

Rising PC version looking good, even the shadow looks beautiful,” Kojima said over Twitter, with the above image attached to this tweet.

In good Kojima tradition, I think the “shadows looking good” comment is a veiled jab at the MGS2 PC disaster port, where shadows and water often wouldn’t get rendered.

I remember walking on a corridor with Snake and suddenly “Raven!?” and I didn’t know what he was talking about until I stepped closer and found the figure and the flashlight. There was another scene when the camera focused on a soldier’s shadow on the floor after you first enter the deck. Thank god I have the game on PS2 too :)

Not that shadows mattered that much overall, unlike say Splinter Cell, but you did miss some small things (I remember the ones you mentioned). In some cutscenes it was also annoying to see character having no shadows, whereas their weapons did have a shadow.

Also, in order to make things more believable for me, I just pretended that the Big Shell was an air base, rather than a sea installation. At least, whenever I looked down and saw no water, that wouldn’t be as jarring. lol

LOL, I didn’t know the water had troubles too :D The water was all right, so it was no Cloud City to me :)

I hope it does well! I liked the game but overall it felt just “ok” to me. It didn’t blow me away.

I’m hoping that they’ll eventually release a complete edition with all of the DLC as well.

      This.

  • CirnoLakes

Oh good, they didn’t abandon it.

  • ChiffonCake

I wonder if they’ll add an option for real-time weapon switching… probably not, but it’d be interesting.

    yay~
PC version’s the one for me :)

If this does good then there might be hope of getting MGS V on PC as well. Then I don’t have to buy a next gen console and be happy with that.
All I could go for is a PC and Wii U. Square Enix said that they are thinking of doing the same to KH3 and FFXV if there is demand.

    • InfectedAI

Was really looking forward to playing FFXV on my PS3. That got canceled and I have zero interest in the PS4 and XB1. I would love a PC version of XV.

Must have some interest in PS4/XB1 since it has a game that want to play.

Same here, I was already thinking of renting a PS4 just to play these games and that’s it. But if they come to PC then I will be on board for it.

This makes me SOOOOOOOOOO happy. :)

Awww yiss. Always good to have more consoles and formats. I for one hope they will one day release a version with all the DLC included though, perhaps as incentive for the PC version?
