Ikaruga Greenlit For PC Release Via Steam

By Ishaan . October 17, 2013 . 12:19am

Just a couple of weeks after Treasure pitched their classic top-down shooter Ikaruga to Valve for a PC release via Steam Greenlight, the game has been greenlit, and will be made available for PC at some point in the future.

The PC version of Ikaruga is based on the Xbox 360 version of the game. You can learn more about what features are included over on its Steam page.

    Good news

  • Barrylocke89

I have the GC version of this game. Hard as balls, but fun.

  • Good. Going to buy a steam card as soon as it comes out.

I hope I can play this with my Hori PS3 stick. SFIV won’t even detect it.

    • Blesmi

It probably isn’t SFIV but your mobo’s USB inputs don’t work with hori. Certain motherboards’ usbs for whatever reason dont work properly with the hori stick, so what you can do is buy a usb pci card and use the stick with that.

      • Yeah, what he said. My Hori UMvC3 stick works fine on SSF4, and it’s the PS3 one.

I would like to say that steam making Treasure go through the whole greenlighting process while some lesser quality games from unknown companies get to skip it completely is an insult to both the company and the SHUMP industry.

So, who said Japanese games aren’t making their way onto Steam after the great betrayal of Sony being produced by the American Computer Sector?

Here’s your proof the trickling of Japanese Games coming onto the computer and it will soon be a flood.

It’s very good news that this was Greenlit right away.

It would have been a travesty if it wasn’t.

  • Göran Isacson

Oh yes. Stuff like this is why I visit Greenlight- the satisfaction of knowing a whole new market is going to curse as they forget to switch the right polarity and die over and over again.

I am a sick little puppy, yes.

  • colorblindnightmare

Alright! I love the hell out of this game.
