Despite its colourful visual style, it looks like YAIBA: Ninja Gaiden Z won’t be lacking in the gore department. Tecmo Koei have released a 30-second trailer for the upcoming game, showing off all the gruesome ways you can maim and decapitate your opponents.

YAIBA: Ninja Gaiden Z is a spin-off of the main Ninja Gaiden series. The game stars a ninja named Yaiba, who loses his arm and eye in a battle against Ryu Hayabusa. Yaiba is then revived as a cyborg and sets out to find Ryu, in order to exact his revenge.

YAIBA: Ninja Gaiden Z is in development for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It will be available in early 2014.

It’s like so far I had only watched cam-corded footage of the game until now. It looks really colorful and lots of fun. I know it will be no NG, but after NG3, maybe that is a good thing.

I’d rather play such a busy game on a bigger screen.

I like it but Killer Is Dead started to make me hate games with those art style.

To be fair Killer Is Dead looks amazing until the screen tearing shows up. The game’s quality is another topic (Everything is fine until the gigolo missions).

Looks like it could turn out to be the first thing Spark has done worth people’s money. I still have zero faith in that actually happening though.
