Bravely Default English Screenshots Show Exploration, Battles And Story Scenes

By Ishaan . October 23, 2013 . 10:05am

Nintendo of Europe have released a batch of brand new English screenshots for Bravely Default. The screenshots show off scenes from battle, event scenes, the intro movie to the game, and exploration.

Bravely Default will be available on December 6th in Europe, and in the first quarter of 2014 in North America. Earlier today, Nintendo of Europe announced a collector’s edition for the game, which you can check out here.

Isn’t this game, like, 3 or 4 years old? O_o I’m just wondering why it’s taking so long for it to get here and to Europe. Or is it already in Europe?

    • MrSirFeatherFang

This game came out last year in Japan. An enhanced version is also being released in Japan this year and that’s the version that will be released internationally

It came out a year ago this month. It’ll be in Europe first (December) with NA shortly after in 2014.

I think it’s the fact that we started hearing about since it started development. Maybe that’s why I’m wondering what’s up with it. XD

Hardly; the wait just feels so long, lol. And time flies.

Looking lovely as usual~. I cannot wait. I need to get a holiday job and pre-order this nao. ♥v♥

  • James Enk

LBW, BD and i also need to get TotA, PXZ and Soul Hackers my wallet is crying

I thought they announced it was going to be Nov 6 in Europe and Dec 3 in NA? IGN recently said they changed the dates and announced it during the Nintendo conference whatever thing they do.

    • British_Otaku

It was always 2013 for Europe till it was announced to be December 6th recently. As for America, most of expected it to hit 2014 and it is confirmed.

No idea what your IGN sources were on. >_>

        http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/10/01/bravely-default-release-date-announced

They say it’s from the October 1 Nintendo Direct and list the new EU release as Nov 6 and the new NA release as Dec 6.

Hope it’s true, because I really want to give this to my fiancee for Christmas. (Hope she doesn’t read this.)

        • British_Otaku

Excuse me, then. I read your comment backwards at first assuming the dates were the other way around and mostly manage to catch European and Japanese news (I watch both Nintendo Directs).

Sorta surprised I missed that given that I was on the forums as people discussed 2014 dates on various sources for North America…

However, it’s weird that they say that we (Europe) were supposed to get it on November 6th, but I never heard of a delay and the trailer they use as a source only states the current December 6th for Europe.

I get the feeling that IGN screwed up and you got misled by them as a result. It’s a 2014 release for you.

Joystiq said such on October 1st based on the same source: http://www.joystiq.com/2013/10/01/bravely-default-coming-to-europe-on-december-6-q1-2014-in-us/

EDIT: Sorry, but the gift is probably going to be closer to Valentine’s than Christmas at this rate and we don’t know anything for sure.

          • http://jesse-dylan.livejournal.com Jesse_Dylan

Looks like Silicon Era here also reported the normal dates from the same source. You’d think with all the money IGN has, they could have gotten it right! :(

What’s ironic: My fiancee is British, so she could play it right away, not to mention bring me a copy, but she and I both have US 3DS consoles. Depressin’! Hateful region locking.

          • British_Otaku

Ah, I remember talking with you about Inazuma Eleven now. I’ll recognise that loathing of 3DS region locking anywhere.

It’s a real shame that both of you have US 3DS systems, but alternatively you would be cheated out of local multiplayer for Mario Kart 7 and some other games (Kid Icarus doesn’t care on the other hand).

IGN were clearly half asleep when they got the news, I find it incredible that they haven’t corrected it almost a month later. The few comments they got back when the article first went up were correcting them too.

          • http://jesse-dylan.livejournal.com Jesse_Dylan

Yeah, it’s a shame! I didn’t even bother reading the comments. I just thought, oh, well, it’s IGN! Has to be correct. But it was not correct. :( Not sure how they got it so confused.

Yeah, it was a calculated decision to get the US ones, and I figured when she’s in the UK and wants something, I can always get her some US eshop cards and just tell her the numbers. :) Not to mention you guys get robbed by Nintendo, especially on the eshop. It’s crazy! I get the whole VAT thing, that’s fine, but the eshop and retail prices for 3DS games are just unreasonable.

  • Masa

    its so beautiful!

  • Pockystix

    it’s so beautiful~

seriously can’t wait to get my mitts on this!

  • 3PointDecoupage

Her name is Edea?? I dont trust her.
Can you rename them? Not digging the names.

    • British_Otaku

What’s wrong with Edea as a name?

I don’t expect the option to rename any of them, especially as there is bound to be full voice work referring to their names.

Do you have a reason why you don’t like the other names? :/

      • Enzo

She does have the same name as the Sorceress, but I guess this game she probably won’t strike you with a chunk of ice :))

  • MVRK HNTR

    Day 1 buy!

  • Ric Vazquez

This is the first and hopefully the only time I’m mad at Europe for getting a game first
