By Ishaan . October 23, 2013 . 6:58pm

NIS America will publish Hyperdimension Neptunia PP for the PlayStation Vita in North America and Europe, the publisher announced today. The game will be released in 2014.

Hyperdimension Neptunia PP has you playing as a character that falls into Gameindustri and is hired by either Neptune, Noire, Blanc or Vert to help guide them through their new aspirations to be idols.

You’ll take on the role of their manager and help them go up against rival idol group MOB-48. As their manager, you’ll be required to train them to sing, dance and promote themselves.

    Wow…. I never thought we’d get this.

    Well played NISA, I’ll buy.

    Oh, and NOIRE IDOL FTW!!!

    • xAtKx

Yes! The world needs more Noire!

      • Tyler Beale

        Well….okay then!

        • Demeanor

You should resist a bit at first, tsundere-chan XD to cave in with a “shou ga nai wa!” soon after XD

    • Demeanor

As soon as I read the words “manager” and “pick” my brain automatically rerouted all neural connections to NOIRE :D

    • Hound

Hazzah! NISA continues to test the waters in an age of repetition and playing it safe. A great day for gaming

  • Michael Connell

Good news indeed, definitely getting this

  • AkiraScare

Who wants PP?!!! i want PP (^_^) all over me XP Finally there bringing to the states (TT_TT) never been so happy to see PP (TT_TT)

  • Flandre Scarlet

I sure hope they’re prepared for all that money they’re going to lose on this.

    • Renaldi Saputra

      and the “Pedo game” bashing..

NISA really cares so much about Compile Heart games’ fans in the west, even though the amount isn’t that much and the risk is kinda big

      • Tyler Beale

Well, Neptunia IS, IMO, NISA’s best-selling franchise, behind Disgaea.

I love the franchise (despite the numerous problems I have with CH games in general) and will continue to buy every Neptunia game in LE form (minus the first game), including the anime series whenever FUNi announces and dubs it on BD/DVD.

        • Renaldi Saputra

I know, bcos they’re RPG, Neptune’s first game was sold around 170k in US, but after that, it’s drastically down.. this one isn’t RPG but Idol game.. I don’t think it will be successful.. since Im@s is only localized on iOS, and I don’t see many enthusiasms of it in the west.. also I heard Im@s game was accused as a “Pedo Game”

          • Lynx

            Stop going to IGN.

            STAWP.

They’re the only ones who even came close to implying that last point.

Even then, thats kind of null and void as the majority of the cast is 17+ as of Second Vision, aside from the twins.

          • Renaldi Saputra

that’s why I don’t believe IGN, they only gives high score to pokemon main series and most of FF games..

I also heard they accused Neptune series as a FF rip-off.. what a drag

but IGN’s comments represent what most of western games would think, unfortunately.
So, I doubt this will bring success..

      • Shippoyasha

Well, we can’t let game releases be dictated by haters and trolls. I’m seriously disgusted by politically correct witchhunts in gaming these days. Game companies should rightfully release games for their fanbase. We can’t let all that culture of fear and hate dictate how fans get their games.

        • Renaldi Saputra

I agree so much.. that’s why they should bring a lot of niche games like Medarot and many other niche games

  • DesmaX

… just gimme Battle Princess already

  • AnimeRemix

Even though I don’t have a Vita, if NISA release this game physically in North America then I will be buying it to show my absolute Neptunia support!

Just YES! First Mugen Souls Z, and now this?! =D
What’s that NISA? Are you whispering something? Are you trying to say “Fairy Fencer F localization coming soon”? (I really can’t wait until they announce localize it as well!)

    • Tyler Beale

FF and Neptunia RB1 are just now coming out in Japan, so TBH I wouldn’t expect any localization announcements anytime soon, at least until Xmas or Jan.

    • mirumu

Here’s a quote direct from the press release…enjoy.

“This title has a planned release for both retail and PSN formats.”
      http://nisamerica.com/pressreleases/Neptunia_PP_20131023pb.pdf

      • Tyler Beale

Additionally, Sony requires ALL Vita physical games to also be on PSN. So they didn’t even need to say that, especially since CH themselves also stated that it’s on PSN.

        • mirumu

Yeah, the PSN release was a given. It’s just that quite a few niche games are only getting digital releases these days. Some were expecting that to happen here too. It’s good of NISA to do both, and make it clear.

    • Renaldi Saputra

how about that Monster Monpiece? maybe it needs more love

      • 324234

They’re censoring Mugen Z and all Monpiece has going for it is constant fanservice, expect hell to freeze over first :P

  • Luis Camargo

Hopefully they will localize Rebirth 1 too =D

  • Keko

This is literally the best news I have ever heard in my entire life and I’m literally crying tears of joy right now. Let’s Nep!

  • Laith Rem

Sell well, I want Idolm@ster to have a second chance.

    • Repede91

I’m with you there. First the gamer pics released the American Xbox Live marketplace in 2007(?) and an under promoted and overly expensive iOS release.
I dunno though, the AIC anime and figures seem to be popular enough over here and the Sunrise mecha anime saw a quiet release last year…

      • Lynx

You’re also forgetting the numerous Ace Combat skins as well.

        • TheSwordUser

..and then there are recently added Idol costumes DLC for few Tales of Xillia characters. With proper descriptions acknowledging the idols.

    • Cazar

Unlikely, this game is a pretty poor representation of what Idol games should be like. It’s bad. And this is coming from someone who even liked HDN 1.

  • Roberto

    my dream come true
    yes

  • LazuliteLiamz

awesome! hopefully we’ll get limited edition as well, and rebirth too!

  • Renaldi Saputra

I’m afraid ppl will accuse it as “Pedo game”

surprised to see Neptune’s spin off game eventually got localized..

NISA really cares so much about their fans, even though the risk is kinda big..

    *respect

  • Kornelious

Wait….what? What?! WHAT?!!! We’re getting this, really? I thought this had no chance of coming over. I now love NISA 10x more.

  • Yan Zhao

And now for an Idolmaster game to finally make it over.

  • http://epiclyamazing.wordpress.com/ AzureNova

    O M G! =^_^=

  • Zak Ledward

God really DOES exist ;_; (and he is NISA)

I swear, NISA is in love with the HDN series. Now CH just needs to make that Noire game and NISA needs to LOCALIZE…after that and Rebirth my life will be complete :)

    • Tyler Beale

I agree….They’re already announcing RB2, yet they haven’t given any information on the Noire game? Lame…..I bet they’re actually trying to perfect it this time.

Maybe it’s really a BlazBlue/Noire crossover, with Hazama fucking up Gamindustri and Noire (as well as Ragna, etc) is the only one that can stop him! All while being developed by Arc System Works.

      • Zak Ledward

Shocker, Noire Game is a real-time RPG with free-world roam Phantasy Star style. I’d buy two if it was like that. But yes, I hope that the Noire game is the peak of CH’s work in the HDN series.

If it turns out to be like that I’m going to shoot myself (after I play it of course). I have too much hate for Hazama to handle a whole ‘nother universe with HIM IN IT. ASW crossover would be nice though (Nu-13, Mu-12, Lambda-11)

        • Tyler Beale

I also hope it’s that retro game that’s been hinted at in the Victory and PP credits.

          • Zak Ledward

I have yet to play Victory (god help my soul), though a Retro game WOULD be nice (in that 8-bit form that shows in the HDN Mk2 end credits) Though I hope Noire isn’t in 8-bit. I need my 3D, full-form Noire.

          • Tyler Beale

The hell are you waiting for? It to go free on NA PS+ (even though it’s not on PSN)?

I never finished Mk2 – I got as far as Arfoire (with only Neptune)…tried millions of times, and just couldn’t beat her, even with DLC gear. Uggh, this is what I hate about CH games….being completely unforgiving at the end/post game.

Maybe the retro game will come with a CG image of Noire cosplaying as Tsubaki Yayoi, or vice versa. I get to listen to my lovely Noire as I play BlazBlue, so why can’t I see them dress up as each other? Noire DOES like to cosplay, after all…

          • Zak Ledward

I’d rather have the LE (apparently $100+) since I’ve been getting the LE of EVERY CH game that comes overseas.

Really? I don’t know, I thought everything in Mk2 was pretty easy, just gotta grind then XD

Is it bad if I kind of, sort of, despise Tsubaki? She’s kind of a bitch <_<

  • Christopher Nunes

Never heard of this game until this article, but I’m buying it! Not only for the fact I need more Vita games for my Vita but the fact that NISA is bringing over such a rare title to the West (in terms of localization) and I want to support them for it.

And I’ve been curious to play an Idol Master-like game for quite some time now.

  • Sentsuizan_93

It’s amusing because I just got a Vita a few days ago and now I heard this, I’m genuinely surprised. In a good way! ^_^
    I’m ready NIS!

  • Oscar Alberto Abrego Suarez

I think Neptunia games are terrible and boring but since you can date the girls then im in.

Self insert character to boot :)

    Thanks NISA.

  • Tyler Beale

Glad this is coming over! My main concern is regarding the voice acting – for the sake of my lovely lady Noire/Black Heart, I ask that they dub the events (ALL of them, not just 1/4 of the game + character DLC), but leave the songs themselves untouched!!!

Speaking of Noire, I wonder if she’s ever tried cosplaying as Prinny?

    • DyLaN

Lol why the downvote? Dub hater at work?

But yes, you can do whtever to the voice acting but plz leave the songs in its original form.

    • Lynx

      I’d really liked dubbed songs.

But leave the Japanese track untouched so there’s that option.

  • cyberkinghardy

Hmmm…now i’m having second thoughts in buying rebirth 1 in japanese version cause this got localized..ahhhh HELP

    • Coreven

Buy it in japanese so you won’t have to deal with Alan Costa’s horrible liberal translations. You won’t regret it.

      • cyberkinghardy

haha really? i dont have ps3 thats why i didnt get to play HDN games..

  • AxionAzure

That’s gonna be fun! In NISA we trust!

  • Repede91

NISA and Sega are beating Namco to the punch by releasing games like these sort of in America before Idolmaster. I will definitely support this when it releases.

    • ReidHershel

They were actually all translated…..for 40+ dollars on the iOS.
      XD

      • Brandonmkii

        That’s not the idolm@aster, that’s a rhythm game spin-off :/

        • Repede91

I bet Namco chose that version so all the VN like segments would not have to be translated.

        • Lynx

          Still an Im@s game.

Im@s is the franchise as a whole.

According to that logic, Dearly Stars isn’t an Im@s game either.

      • Repede91

I actually forgot that happened. I passed on those not because they were expensive; but due to them being exclusive to a mobile platform. I’ve never enjoyed a game on my phone outside of Super Hexagon…

    • Renaldi Saputra

      sega? srsly? no..
Miku is so popular worldwide, it’s reasonable..
      Idolm@ster? not really..

      • Repede91

Sega still had to to take a poll among Vocaloid fans to see if Project Diva was a viable release and even then only the PS3 version made its way over here; but at least we got the one with the most content.

        • Renaldi Saputra

sega is more or less same as Namdai, they mostly don’t care about their niche series

        • Repede91

          I wish my phones browser didn’t suck…

But anyway I wanted to say I was referring to the K-ON! games as well, which are what I really want…

          • Renaldi Saputra

any game that is based on existing anime are quite difficult to release.. (except those from Jump Series and popular shounen)

again, those games are accused as niche..

    • Ferrick

lol sega, i think outside of sanic, they won’t localize it until people kneel and beg for them to release it outside of japan

  • Betrayer

    Well… Now I need a Vita…

  • Raharu95

Is… this really happening? : o *Rubs eyes and looks out again* It is :D!!!

  • DyLaN

NISA is my cult leader now (atm). (((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))

  • MasterScrub

Well that’s a shock, I never thought in a million years we’d be getting this. Glad to see I’ll actually be able to use my damn Vita!

Also I’m guessing this all but confirms we’re gonna get rebirth.

  • TrueDefault

NISA is now my favourite publisher!!

  • http://twitter.com/#!/kaishou Kaishou

Man of all games they decided to localize it has to be this. I’m pretty sure there are loads of other…interesting…or should I have said better games to work on. It seriously does seem to me that they aren’t even trying to get more people to play their games.

    • Omnicidal Neutral

I don’t care for Mugen Souls but the “why aren’t people localizing the games I want instead of this RIGHT NOW!?” mentality is incredibly annoying.

      • http://twitter.com/#!/kaishou Kaishou

Thanks for the downvote. I appreciate it.

Well I don’t have that mentality. I’m just surprise that NIS still continues to cater for the…let say the side of the community I don’t want to be part of. Also I could care less about NIS ever since they published the first Neptunia game…heck i’m even glad they don’t publish atelier series anymore. There’s actually no game I want localized by NIS so…well there.

[edit - Keep that downvote pumping yo. I won't be coming back to this article anytime soon]

        • Omnicidal Neutral

I don’t upvote or downvote anything on Disqus. Don’t act pissy just because you said something that Compile Heart fans don’t like on an article that Compile Heart fans are going to come see.

        • biskmater

Whatever you say, man, but they found their niche there, and I am sure as hell giving them my money.

  • Doctor Nebula

This age of localization is a wonderful time.

  • Crazy_O

Oh I just played the japanese demo and I really liked it, will definitly buy this when it releases with english text.

  • katzedan

So finally the time to get a Vita arrived! :3

  • ChiffonCake

Wow, really didn’t expect this. Cool guy NISA.

  • Kai2591

Haha anything is possible these days.
    ANYTHING,
    :)

  • WhyWai

Holy shit! NISA did it again! Thanks!

  • ivanchu77

Fuck yeah, i love NISA so much.

    Can´t wait to play this!!!

  • Aristides

Glorious! God Exists! Our Prayers have finally been answered!! Praise Neptune! Praise NISA! =D

  • Mister_Nep

Wow this is amazing! The one Neptunia game I legitimately thought it wasn’t gonna be brought over. This basically means the whole franchise is a guaranteed release from now on.

  • artemisthemp

Good to see NISA releasing Neptune Idol PP in the West :)

Guess we can expect Re; Birth 1 as the next Neptune game to release in the West. (After Idol PP).

I will need some more information about the Noire game, before I can calulate the localization chance.

  • lozffvii

    Wow.
Suddenly I have 300% more reason to buy a PSVita.
And I had plenty of reasons to get one before.

  • Kami nii

My God why can’t other publisher do what Nisa is doing? I mean they trust their fans out west and localize their games..Okay some of their games don’t sell much but I feel really happy that there are still good publishers out there Nisa and Atlus yes I’m a fan of Persona and SMT series and Neptunia series..Thank you!Nisa for listening to your fans request out west :))

  • ZetaSiren

YAAAY NISA! We love you :)

  • Bio_liquid

This comment section needs more Blanc… much much more Blanc

  • http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/recognition/21421.html?type=4 Kashell

Having just come from a Miku platinum, I’m so excited about this.

    • TheExile285

Just an FYI, this doesn’t really play like Miku. The meat of the game is the idol management.

  • Learii

this going to put a middle figure at sega and Namco

  • LM009

god i want to finish the 1st game so I can play others of the series but battle system and gameplay mechanics are so cringe worthy

  • Loli Summoner

    By the gods,YES!!

  • Neppygear

YES! YES!!!!! YEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS pre-ordering so hard

  • leingod

Now that’s kind of a shocker. A totally good one, mind you.

  • http://playstationallstars.wikia.com/wiki/PlayStation_All-Stars_Wiki Sackchief

Very surprising. I thought this of all games would stay in Japan. At least this creates hope for Rebirth coming to the West as well!

  • ZekeFreek

The only thing more surprising than this game coming to the west is that IGN actually did a fucking article about it. Where are the flying pigs?

  • Kumiko Akimoto

Ohhh god too many good localization news coming out this year it’s the end of the world everyone

  • Freud_Hater

I’ll definitely check that one out ^____^
