6th december can’t come fast enough. I’ll just sit in the corner of my bedroom and wait till the game comes out.
    As clever as ever.

    • Mondryx

The good thing is: Its a Friday! The whole weekend will be a Bravely Default one :D

      • Malon

It’s going to be a revisions-weekend for me, I live in France and I have important exams in december.
Worst torture ever, knowing Bravely Default will be released as I have to learn and learn and learn.

Give my life a mark from 0 to 20.

        • It’s good to take breaks though! Come on. Play it, just a little bit, for me.

  • Tom_Phoenix

I’m not sure if the bad voice acting is a detriment to the game or if it only serves to reinforce the “old-school RPG” vibe.

Still, while I’m really excited for this game, it’s a shame it didn’t get the same quality voiceover treatment as Xenoblade and The Last Story.

    • Can it be turned off or set to Japanese or something?

      • RedShadoww

        Yup, Japanese voices are included.

  • I can’t wait to play this next month *wink wink*

    • Kaetsu

I really wish it came out in NA at the same time. Oh well I have enough games to keep me going until it comes here.

  • Masa

    time machine…..anyone have one?
Been so long since i played a traditional rpg, THE WAIT IS KILLING ME!!!

  • Jero

English voices sound really weird, maybe cheap. I expected a bit more from Nintendo (it’s nowhere near Kid Icarus for example), but really I understand, they just wanted to bring the game, plus it has japanese voices. Though I’m a bit concerned about the audio quality of the in-game dialogues (sounds like it’s been recorded with a cheap microphone), I hope the japanese remains intact (in quality). Probably playing it in english first and changing in the middle of the first mission then start over because: “i missed like, 2 seconds of japanese dialogue”.

    • Suicunesol

How do we know it’s Nintendo who’s in charge of hiring VA? Isn’t this SQ’s game?

      • Jero

Nintendo was in charge of the localization so my guess is that they did a full job.

        • Maybe they had to use funky compression to keep the cart size down.

          • Jero

I thought of that but come on, how big can this game be? Fire Emblem also has dual audio and it’s really good quality. Well, maybe it’s just a trailer thing.

          • Oh yeah, I forgot Fire Emblem had dual-audio (despite my playing it in Japanese). Fire Emblem doesn’t have a whole lot of voice acting, though, really, does it? I have no idea how much Bravely Default has, but the trailers make it look like the whole thing is voiced (ugh).

          • Jero

Yes I have seen lots of japanese footage of the game (because couldn’t wait and who cares about spoilers since I don’t speak japanese), and the whole game is voiced so yeah. It’s weird though, I thought the 3ds cartridge had enough space.

          • It definitely has enough space! I’m not sure what the limit is, but I bet it’s greater than a Blu-Ray or anything else. It’s just that the bigger card you make, the more it costs, just like SDs. Not that I know anything–this is all just my theory on why the speech would be compressed (if it is).

    • I’m mixed on the voices. I like the voices themselves, but the sound quality when the EN dub kicks in just isn’t matching. Hopefully it’ll be better while playing.

      • Jero

I feel the same way, the voices are child like I guess because of the characters’ style but it’s not something you wouldn’t get used to. But when it comes to quality in terms of, idk, bitrate? It sounds like a 128Kbps song downloaded with a cheap youtube to mp3 site.

        • That is an excellent way of putting it. That is exactly what the sound quality is like. x’);

  • katzedan

Hope they announce the north american release date soon… don’t like the taste this Q1 2014 leaves in me! :(

  • Prinnydoom

4 weeks man. 4 weeks. wallet. wont. hold.

  • katamari damacy

God, i hate how the 3DS is region locked. Just gives modders another excuse to have an R4 card or whatever its 3DS equivalent is.
UK localization > American localization just for the voice acting alone.

    • TheExile285

      There is a difference?

      • katamari damacy

British voice acting. Far better than American voice acting.

        • TheExile285

Wait, are you saying the NA and EU of this game have different VAs OR just that British VA in general is better than American VA?

          • Kaetsu

I’m not a fan of the English voice actors for this game. I’ll try it out for a bit but I’ll probably end up changing it to the Japanese VA

        • Prinnydoom

huh….no your wrong. And i am from england. You also seem to be ignoring the fact that there are a whole range of phenomenal american voice actors: Troy baker, Liam O’brien, Steve staley, Bryce papenbrook, Cassandra morris, Brina Palencia, Stephanie sheh and many others. Seriously i could go on. From what i can tell there are far fewer british voice actors who are as well known as these guys (or as good)

I am all for supporting british voice acting but try to have a little balance in your thoughts.

          • katamari damacy

Yes there are an entire range of phenomenal american voice talents, most of which have their voices featured in the Original voice track for the game. Almost none of them take up localization duties where they become the 2nd or 3rd person to voice act the part. Usually the FIRST PERSON who does the voice acting is the best one whether it be Japanese, American, or British.

          • I think there’s only one English version of this game, though; they’re not getting separate actors for the British and NA English versions.

Would be pleased to be wrong, though, because then I could use the British voice track :P

    • J_Joestar

modders/hackers would be working to break into the system regardless of region lock.

    • Ouch My Head Said Dionysus

It sucks, but there’s only a few more months to wait.

Heh, this is doubly painful for me. I’m in Europe, but I bought an US 3DS for early SMT IV and Soul Hackers. Oohhh it’s gonna suck to see Bravely Default on store shelves.

  • Return to the basics that’s what is important.

  • Guilherme Matheus Silva

Guess I’ll have to wait until next year…

  • revenent hell

I just wish they would give a release date for the US already…. at a minimum throw up some pre orders at places…. No offence, but its not often a game gets released in Europe before the US but when it does happen its always with the games I want most to play

  • It looks soooo good *_*

  • artemisthemp

I am getting excited by this trailer

  • 3PointDecoupage

As far as I’m concerned this is the first Final Fantasy they’ve made in a looooooong time.

    • This is the first Final Fantasy Square-Enix made as far as I’m concerned.

  • Covnam

That first voice actor,… is that Aigis I hear?

  • Ganali Castillo

Um. This is a stupid question but how did this game move from japan to Europe before US ?

    • Business decisions at the cost of worldwide happiness index

    • Ouch My Head Said Dionysus

Nintendo of Europe doing the localization. Like Xenoblade, Last Story and Pandora Tower.

  • I hope there’s romance in the game lol

Also, I hope the US boxart will look like the japanese one… You know the sexy black colored with the cute fairy…

  • Seven of The Scions

If only this one coming to Vita, it’s going to be one hell of an AWESOMENESS!!!

  • Ben Green

looks like a DS game. wtf is up with these 3ds graphics

  • Ohmygoodness. I didn’t realize it was possible to be even more excited for this. ;A; TTvTT

I cannot wait~! Between this, Drakengard 3 and X+X2 remaster, unf!
