    Edit: Okay. No. :(

  • Loli Summoner

Are they trying to spoil the game? I understand SE/Final fantasy team is excited for the game but seriously, stop with the trailers and previews :T

    • SerendipityX

I don’t think their trying to spoil the game just rectifying a problem fans have brought to their attention. In the past Square was always way too secretive with their projects. I’m actually kinda glad they’re giving me more info from time to time keeps the game fresh in my mind.

      • echokanon

But the project that is secretive is still secretive… It is only games that have steady development or near complete that gets to disclose infos. Which makes me more worried about those that are not

I’m glad too when we are receiving more info from time to time but sometimes I also kinda think were those fan service-ish ones really neccessary?

  • Final Aura

gotta look stylish when saving the world

    • ShadowDivz

or else what’s the point in saving it?

  • sakusakusakura_nyo

    How about a swimsuit?

    • LightGenx

      DLC probably

    • ShadowDivz

I like the way you think.

  • Isn’t there a time limit??? Who has time for shopping?

    • Alexander Aubert

      the saviour has time

    • If I remember this correctly, Square’s stated that the countdown pauses while shopping and in menus.

      • But what about when I’m walking slowly down the beach toward the camera 10 times with a differently colored skirt each time??

        • Then you’ve screwed over the world. I don’t think they have anything to help you there XD

          • hehe :) They’ll have to have “model time stop DLC”

          • I would actually buy that.

  • This is the first time I seen the equipment menu. I always love lots of things to equip and customize characters—or in this case THE character.
Maybe having one character but super customized wasn’t so bad of an idea?
We’ll have to see how it rolls in practice.

    • I think it’ll probably feel a little more Elder Scrolls (Skyrim) than Final Fantasy, but as long as I/we don’t expect it to be Final Fantasy VI’s second coming or anything…

(I hate the idea of a time limit though. Guess I’ll have to see.)

      • FFVI’s second coming?
I dunno, I think I’d rather they left the old FF style where it is, if that’s what you meant.
FF is just a name, the style has been everchanging. Every and each game since FFVII has been very different in core gameplay and themes.
The key thing is to have every gameplay and story element work decently, regardless of how close it is to old titles, personally.

        • Guess so, but the first 9 were pretty darn similar, gameplay-wise, with the exception of switching to active-time battle in 4, which is how it remained through 9. Then X went back to a turn-based system (which was my favorite battle system, frankly). After that, it was always in flux. This one is more of an action-RPG, from what I can tell. (I’m sure you know all this already. I’m just stating it to put what I was implying in context.)

I miss the more traditional RPGs. On the other hand, I can appreciate what I think Lightning Returns is trying to do, sort of mixing in some western elements. (I don’t like that time limit thing, though.)

          • Well in some regards I completely agree, but in general FF has been really different:
FFI-V were fantasy setting generally with darkness vs light(with some hints of other themes like time travel and nilhism), FFVI and VII were mecha-fantasy with some futuristic traits, FFVIII was war and sci-fi, FFIX was poetic fantasy with a touch of theatre, FFX was a japanese style mythological-heavy game, etc…
I felt very different playing each game, honestly. And each experience brought new ways to perceive the genre.

But yeah, purely gameplay I definitely want something mixing traditional RPG with western elements and fresh new things.
I think they can pull it off if they actually pay careful attention to details. If they don’t then these ideas will fall flat and end up in a really bland experience.

          • I’d still love a return to roots, myself, gameplay-wise. Well, in general really. I’m looking forward to Bravely Default more so than any “AAA” game.

  • Sergio Briceño

Seems like it’s got lots of customization going on. I knew this game could have good trailers.

  • Wesley Kenneth Houpt Mattingly

All this love for a game few will buy(1.5-2 Mil? FFXV and KH3 better get this kind of love…

  • ShadowDivz

Dress up one of my most favorite main characters? Hell yeah!

  • Göran Isacson

Kinda curious if mixing and matching clothes from one “schema” with another will result in a neat look, or just be very confusing and busy. Then again, if one wants to go through the game wearing an actual rainbow I guess you finally got your game!

  • Dark Zerato

This looks like some kind of idol game. Spending hours to dress her to satisfy your desire.

    • Vash bane

my … when you say it that way it sounds so dirty

  • Kurisuchan

If time limit can be extended infinitely, this game would be PERFECT.

  • Virevolte

I’m glad there is a color-swap option. I hate the purple or green on some equipment.

  • Vash bane

ever since 012 and the first 13 game ive come to really like lighting ( she was beast in 012 … and my first 100lv character lol).

i’m really hyped about this game :D
