Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes To Have Exclusive Content On PlayStation

By Ishaan . November 12, 2013 . 11:54am

It looks like Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes will have exclusive content on PlayStation platforms. A photograph tweeted by series director Hideo Kojima today from the PlayStation 4 launch event in New York makes mention of this fact.

Take a look at the photo below, and look above the “Spring 2014” text on the banner to the left. You should be able to make out the line “Exclusive content for PlayStation platform”.

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes is in development for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. The game is slated for a spring 2014 release, and will serve as a prologue to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Release details can be found here.

I’m curious as to what it could be. If it’s just cosmetic stuff, I’ll stick with my 360, but I’ll grab it for PS3 if it’s something more significant.

I love Kojima and all, cannot wait for this game, but a multiplatform game which has exclusive content for one console is always BS imo.

    • Corey Schulz

The game dev is essentially bribed by Sony/Microsoft to put out exclusive content for X platform. If they want to make a good deal of money, it’s not really in their place much to say “NO!” and turn down the offer.
Sad, but that’s how it is.

sounds interesting, looks like there will be side missions in GZ, too. which should make the game feel longer

*Crosses fingers for crab battle exclusive dlc*

I wonder why they even bother making a multiplatform game if one console is going to have extra content the other won’t have. Even though I prefer Playstation over Xbox, I’d feel peeved if I was a Metal Gear Solid fan who was only going to buy the next Xbox.

That “Metal Gear Solid fan” was more than likely a former PS2 owner that when bought a 360 and heard about DMC 4 and expected all else to come with it.

Not surprised since MGS was a PS exclusive game

I don’t quite understand the need for all the down-votes. He is right… MGS debuted as a playstation exclusive title, so it makes sense that it is getting some love from Kojipro. Microsoft and Nintendo have only gotten ports and multiplats (with HD, GZ, and V).

      • Vesperion

I only down-voted because he says that like it’s supposed to make sense

        EDIT ^ there you go

        • Shinobikens

That spelling of sense doesn’t make any sense

  • benhofb

Heh, it would be pretty cool to see a costume for snake that makes him look all polygonal (yes, I know that is Solid, not BB. But it would still be cool!). But then again, there would be no reason for something like that to be console specific.

Wow I am so behind. I did not realize Ground Zeroes was different from The Phantom Pain. To make sure, do they both utilize Sutherland? If so, I’ll just wait for the David Hayter DLC, thank you.
