Zelda: A Link Between Worlds Has More Than One Reference To Majora’s Mask

Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma has been teasing the possibility of a 3DS remake of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask for some time now. However, in the meantime, Aonuma and Zelda team have also dropped a few references to Majora’s Mask in the upcoming Zelda title, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

The first, as you may recall, is Majora’s Mask itself, which is present in Ravio’s Item Shop in the game. Whether the mask plays a significant role in any manner remains to be seen.

Additionally, a second reference to Majora’s Mask was revealed by Nintendo this morning during a Nintendo Direct presentation. This comes in the form of a sidequest that involves a place known as the Milk Bar, which was also a shop present in Majora’s Mask in East Clock Town.

In A Link Between Worlds, you’ll come across a Milk Bar in Hyrule. The owner of the bar will tell you that a mysterious man who disappeared into the mountains has an affection for premium milk. Presumably, you’ll be required to meet this person during the quest, but just what you’ll get for completing the quest is unknown at this time.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds will be available on November 22nd. You can watch a new trailer for the game above.

      • magatama

        good one

  • Kaihedgie

    YES, DARK LINK 8D

    • Asturias_Knytt

Might be streetpass shadow link…but i’d be surprised if it wasn’t dark link himself.

    • Ric Vazquez

      That would be awesome

  • mockturtle

I hope that whole Ganon thing wasn’t a gigantic spoiler, because if it was, WTF Nintendo?

    But OMG so excited.

    • Asturias_Knytt

they revealed early on that yuga wants to revive ganon so meh. take it as you will.

EDIT: OH CRAP MEGA SPOILER lol

    • ChirotheHiro

Maybe it’s a dream link gets at the beginning of the game? Like the ones in SS and OOT?

  • mike dickson

*looks at moon * you f***ing bastard

  • Tyler Harwood Simpson

Lorule is actually Termina. Game is actually super prequel to Majora’s Mask. Ravio is the original Majora.

    • Diana

Oh, how I wish this were true. :D <3

    • D H

But… that’s impossible with the official timeline, since Majora’s Mask doesn’t even happen in LttP’s line, and we know this is a sequel to that… Please stop trying to make my head explode, I still need it ^,^,

      • RablaAndrews

        Timeline Merging incoming.

…urgh, why did I say that. Nintendo nooooo.

      • Ben Sylvia

Then maybe it’s the LttP timeline’s Termina?

Or maybe the place is just a magic illusion conjured by the Triforce because it was bored and felt like screwing with the newest in the line of Heroes.

    • Icarus-Progam

LOL. This is pure gold…and thinking about it now, increasingly likely.

  • Göran Isacson

2;13 WHOOP THERE HE IS. Guess we’ll have to see if it feels warranted or not then. Anyhow, that boss in total darkness, and the music… ooooh the music and the nostalgiabomb of feels it makes me feel.

  • 324234

Going to be disappointed if they remake it for 3DS instead of the WiiU, it really deserves HD treatment. OOT3D felt like I was simply playing a portable port.

    • ManSizeSextet

OoT 3D featured new models, redone geometry, lighting and textures. You might have forgotten what the original actually looked like but the 3DS version’s visuals were drastically improved. A HD WiiU MM doesn’t make sense as it’ll cost too much and take too much time and resources that are better diverted to the WiiU Zelda. MM3D makes far more sense on 3DS and I do need one of my favourite games portable.

  • Shawn

Aaaaaand the guy on the cliff who u give the milk to just gives you an empty jar in return. No more Majora’s Mask Easter eggs, I don’t think. Just beat the game. Amazing, but yeah — nothing more concerning MM
