Demon Tribe, Sega’s Demon Collecting RPG, Is Out Today

By Ishaan . November 21, 2013 . 5:10am

Demon Tribe, Sega’s smartphone RPG that appears to be inspired at least in part by Shin Megami Tensei, is available on the iTunes App Store today, the publisher has announced.

Demon Tribe is created by Sega’s Masayoshi Kikuchi, who has produced and directed games in the Panzer Dragoon, Yakuza and Jet Grind Radio series. As the title suggests, you capture and use demons to do your bidding in battle. The game is a blend of action-RPG gameplay mixed with MOBA-style engagement and card collection.

Battles in Demon Tribe take place in real-time. The game has a single-player mode and co-op clan battles with up to three players in PvP battles. You can pick Demon Tribe up for free—like many smartphones titles, it’s supported by in-app purchases.

SMT calling ANY monster, even angels, demons is cool and original. Anyone else doing it is a blatant ripoff or no longer cool -.-

isn’t SMT technically a part of sega now ? Pretty much making that point rather moot

But I’m pretty sure they weren’t when this game was first announced.

I’ve been looking forward to this game for a while now. It’s always great to see awesome new IPs for iOS. Though to be honest the more I see of this game the more I wonder if it’ll actually be any good, but I’m still going to check it out :D
