Ultra Street Fighter IV Shows Off Ultras For Rolento, Poison, Hugo And Elena

By Ishaan . November 22, 2013 . 10:02am

Capcom have shared a more detailed look at four of Ultra Street Fighter IV’s new characters. The videos below show off the various Ultra special moves for Rolento, Poison, Hugo and Elena.

Rolento:

First up, Rolento. In Street Fighter x Tekken, we saw a rather cool new Super Art in Patriot Sweeper. Although this Super Art looked decent enough, it was not the two signature supers, “Grenade Sweeper” and “Take no Prisoners” that players have come to know and love. After looking at the four new characters’ Ultras and Supers, I honestly feel that Take no Prisoners is one of the coolest new Ultras amongst the new characters; if not one of the coolest Ultras period!

Poison:

Poison’s up next. Giving her a Super and Ultra that match her persona were something that were taken into account during their creation. In SFxT, her Super Art, “Love Storm” set the bar in terms of what Poison’s all about, so anything less than that would be waste. In USFIV, she’s been given a new Ultra, which kicks anything else you may have seen out the park!

Hugo:

Next up is the last member of the Mad Gear Gang, Hugo. In Street Fighter III, Hugo’s Supers Hammer Mountain and Megaton Press were pretty cool and had their uses. I think that they have been more than faithfully introduced into Ultra, with Megaton Press easily being one of, if not the best Ultra in SF4.

Elena:

Last but not definitely not least, the Capoeira queen, Elena herself. In SFxT she had one of her signature Street Fighter III Super Arts, Brave Dance, so it was a no brainer to add the two that were missing: Spinning Beat and Healing. I really feel that Healing exudes Elena’s love for the Earth and fun spirit across pretty nicely.

Ultra Street Fighter IV will be available for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 sometime after its arcade release, which will take place in April 2014.

Hugo bringing the pain, as always… Also, that Ultra2 from Poison, OUCH…

  • Tyler Beale

….Still waiting on that 5th character….(please be Mega Man X)

    • Just Tim

Better be Charlie, especially when SFIV saga is a direct sequel to II.

      • MrJechgo

Can’t… They keep saying that the character is related to SF, but has NEVER been in a SF game before. So…
        - Any character from SF1, or Fighting Street, is out, so no Birdie, Retsu, Eagle, Geki, Lee or Joe.
        - Every character from SF2 is already in USFIV.
        - Any character from SF3 is out, so no Alex (;_;), Remy, Sean, Q, Oro, Necro, Twelve, Urien or Gill.
        - Any character from SFA is out, so no Sodom, R. Mika, Karin, Charlie, Juni, Juli, Maki and [thank God] Ingrid.
        - Any character from SF EX is out, because they’re Akira IPs, not Capcom.
Now, I really cannot recall the exact statement, because I can’t remember if they said “never been in a SF game” or “never been in a FIGHTING game”. I’m saying this because I really can’t tell if Final Fight characters would be eligible or not. Sodom and Maki would still be out because of SFA, while Haggar could be either ok since he’s never been in a SF game before or not ok if they consider his appearance in UMvC3. So…
        - Any Final Fight character could be added, such as Carlos, Lucia or Dean.
If Final Fight is out, then all that remains is a Shadaloo Doll, excluding Juni and Juli.

        • Tyler Beale

All I’ve heard is “first fighting game appearance”….but since you claim that it’s Street Figthter-related, I have a statement for you…

The original Mega Man (and sometimes Roll) has been in various Capcom fighters like Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Mega Man Volnutt was in Tatsunoko vs Capcom. And as you know, he was in Street Fighter X Tekken.

That (and the lack of Mega Man X since X8) is the reason why I hope Mega Man X – the only major incarnation that’s not in any Capcom fighter….and no, Zero’s alternate costume in MvC3 doesn’t count – will be in USF4.

          ….even though it’s not going to happen…..

          • MrJechgo

Mega Man didn’t really appear in a true SF game. SFxT is a crossover. That’s like saying that Pac-Man is related to Tekken, when he’s related to Namco Bandai at most.
Wished Capcom just hurry up with the reveal already…

        • Kaitsu

It’s not SF related. They said the character is from a completely different game, but has not been in a fighting game before.

No clue, where you got your information, but you’re way off. D:

          • Sentsuizan_93

Closest thing that comes to mind is Nillin from Remember Me. She hasn’t been in a fighting game before. ._.

          • MrJechgo

            http://shoryuken.com/2013/07/17/ultra-street-fighter-ivs-mysterious-fifth-character-will-be-making-their-fighting-game-debut/

This is where I got the info. It’s not a crossover character, but please define how FF isn’t considered a crossover at this point. They have 6 characters now. That’s like comparing it to how Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive got merged together. One series is the spin-off of the other… sort of.

The 5th character is related to SF, the 5th character will be making its first appearance in SF, the 5th character will be making its first fighting game apperance and the 5th character isn’t from another Capcom game.

So… it’s not a SF character from previous games like Alex or Karin, it’s not a character from Rival Schools like Batsu, Asura’s Wrath like Asura, Remember Me like Nilin or Mega Man and it’s not Haggar because he already appeared in UMvC3 making his bonafide fighting game apperance. It’s either a Shadaloo Doll that escaped Juri’s assault on Bison’s HQ and seek revenge from S.I.N. or a Final Fight character trying to stop S.I.N. just like Guy tries to.

Final Fight is now almost considered a spin-off of the SF games, so it wouldn’t count much as a “crossover” if the last character would come from that series.

One last thing that DID threw me off is this picture:
            http://www.capcom-unity.com/street_fighter/go/thread/view/7411/30095749/retsu-is-the-fifth-character-picture
Retsu’s on it, and it’s a picture that definitely represent USFIV since Elena and Hugo are present. Now, do they consider SF1, or Fighting Street, as a SF game since it didn’t look like SF2, I don’t know, I really don’t know…

        • Chee Yang

Yeah, I remember them saying the 5th is SF related, so Megaman is out. Plus I see no point in adding a different character from a different franchise into the SF universe. It has to be a character that can progress the Street Fighter story and not just a one-shot like in all those crossover games.

I’m hoping it’s something like why Capcom decided to put Gouken in SF4. He’s an important character and it helps with story progression.

          • MrJechgo

Final Fight is the only series that has been merged with SF. Sodom, Guy, Cody, Rolento, Poison and Hugo are prime examples of that… so characters from Final Fight could work and they made it clear that it’s related to SF.

          • Chee Yang

Yeah, Final Fight and SF, since Final Fight was originally the SF successor.

    • hazelnut1112

It’s going to be Bad box art Megaman X.

  • 『ED−X』゜〜★* 平和

    Poor Ryu. . .

  • Freakmasta

Ultra changes have been pretty significant. Seth just got bombed with nerfs while Honda and Chun-Li got buffs.

  • leingod

Elena has a different voice actor? Oh well, she still sounds cute.

  • BentoBlame

    Hugo’s Ultra 2… whoah!

  • Pockystix

love that they kept her healing skill

was so useful against Gil lol

  • Sentsuizan_93

    Hugo’s Ultra #2
    HO. LY. SHIT….

    • Quacker

      Never played 3rd strike?

      • Kaitsu

It’s not that. it’s the fact that they made it so brutal looking compared to 3rd Strike’s.

  • fairysun

    Poison new ultra ….
That should be one hit KO for male character.

  • MVRK HNTR

I hope Hugo will be able to go into Megaton Press via the wall throw special he has otherwise it’d be a pain having to rely on baiting opponents to jump (much like Zangief’s U2 or T. Hawk’s U2, I believe).

  • hazelnut1112

Damn, Elena looking cute as always.
Gonna pre order this because why the hell not?

  • 하세요

Dat Healing. Should be interesting to see how that plays out.

  • Göran Isacson

Oh goodness, Poisons techniques. That ultra. There will be youtube videos of her kicking like every character in the crotch in slowmotion up the day the game releases.

  • Ninjagoon

I cant wait to see the 5th Character. I know that the 5th one is SF related and has never been in a fighting game and they already shot down Asura and the girl from Remember Me. I think they denied Megaman too. Maybe its someone from Street Fighter lore. Like Ryu’s or Dan’s father. Maybe they might work some of the anime characters in the game. I remember seeing concept art for a character called King Cobra so it might be him. ARGH! all this guess has me even more excited to see who can be.

    • leingod

      Lucia Morgan?

      • Ninjagoon

i never knew she existed lol. Thats another possibility.

  • Ixbran

Poison is the Ultimate Glamazon <3

    RuPaul would be Proud!

  • Notquitesure?

Elena reminds me of Christie and Eddie

  • fenix7

Maybe the 5th char is Dante or some1 from Onimusha!
