Tired Of Shoot-em-Ups With Precise Timing? Game Center CX 3 Has Something For You

Game Center CX: Arino in District 3 is all about the retro, all the time. The latest game reveal for the upcoming Nintendo 3DS retro-inspired title is called Zoliates. A top-down, scrolling fighter game, it’s a hat-tip to originals such as now-defunct developer Hudson’s Star Soldier back when gaming was in its infancy.

Sure, the genre’s now developed its way to become mostly involved in bullet-dodging craziness like seminal hit Ikaruga, but every now and then I don’t want to have to deal with all that stress of making the perfect micro-frame adjustment. I just want to shoot things with absurdly impractical and huge lasers coming out of my I-can’t-believe-it’s-that-tiny spaceship. And soon, I’ll be able to do just that.

For retro fans, this game is looking to be getting better and better. It’ll be available January 2014 for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan.

XSEED!!! Please bring this over. Por favor!

    • They lost all their money on the first one. :(

But of course! Arino sucks at them.

  • This game looks great. Didn’t the second one have 16-bit games? This one appears to be going back to 8-bit? Whatever the case, looks amazing.

I don’t like what shooters have become. Too hard! I just want to have fun. The shooters in Retro Game Challenge were some of hte most fun I’ve ever played. But even the Mii Force game in the 3DS Mii Plaza gets a little hectic for me at times. :)

  • I don’t enjoy “bullet hell” games but I do enjoy a good old fashioned shoot em up.

I have to agree with this–and what was said about the “huge lasers” in the article.

However…I can’t say that huge lasers are impractical if you want to destroy everything in front of you. lol They get the job done…with damn good style.

Perhaps we should demand Namco Bandai to release it themselves here in the United States
