More On Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes’ Xbox Exclusive Raiden Mission

Konami have shared more details on the Xbox-exclusive Raiden mission in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, which will see the cyborg ninja infiltrating the Cuban containment camp in the game.

Raiden is tasked with investigating a “bio-robotic incursion” and is dropped on the periphery of the camp. The bioroid presence he’s looking for are “Snatchers”—who disguise themselves as marines and take over people’s bodies. Since Raiden is a cyborg and has no human body to “snatch,” he’s best suited to this particular assignment.

During gameplay, the Snatchers produce an inhuman X-Ray when you tag them using Ground Zeroes’ marking system. As Raiden, you need to eliminate them while avoiding detection by the humans charged with guarding the camp.

Additionally, Konami have revealed that, in the U.K., Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will be available both as a download and at retail for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The game will cost £39.99 at retail, or can be downloaded for £29.99. In North America, the next-gen versions of the game are so far only confirmed to be download titles.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will release on March 18th in North America and March 20th in Europe for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.

  • I hope the US gets it retail for the next gen version too with a collectors edition.

    • Aoshi00

Definitely hope retail for next gen in the us too, otherwise this dl is going to be huge, takes long and hoard hdd space.. Even though playing it means a big install as well.. If no retail for XB1 I’ll have to get on 360

  • I cant help but dance a little on my chair reading “Snatchers”.
I WANT A FOLLOW UP! Or a remake!?

I wouldn’t say no, but i always felt that plot thread wouldn’t leave much room for Snatcher’s game-flow. It’d be cool if they made a prequel where you play as another Junker, ala Sdatcher.

    • fearlubu

Yeah, I’d very much appreciate a remake of Snatcher, SD Snatcher, and Policenauts. <3

Also, Kojima needs to go ahead and connect the MGS universe to them.

    • Daigure

After seeing this trailer, I immediately downloaded Snatcher to relive the memories. I would kill for a port.

    • neocatzon

I would bite Tokimeki Memorial on glorious Fox Engine.

  • Arcana Wiz

i kinda want this content… but no xbox 360 :(

    • alexis cortes

I’m with you, I hope it get’s released on ps3/ps4 as dlc and vice versa for the xbox owners too, otherwise I’m gonna have to settle for watching hd gameplays of it on youtube.

  • idrawrobots

This is going to be a great 29.99 spent.

  • dahuuuundge

Because of this I’ll wait for a definitive version with both sidemissions included, or wait all the way until The Phantom Pain is released.

    • subsamuel01

Doubt there will be a definitive edition, the phantom pain was meant to hold people over till MGS5 which isn’t expected anytime soon. People are saying late 2015 or early 2016. The game is only 19.99 so I’ll definitely pick it up.

  • Dianatos

Why did he refuse his sword? How’s Jack gonna rip things up now?

  • Helepythia

I’m fine with that…if PS owners get an exclusive David Hayter voice over DLC.

  • Sergio Briceño

I’m curious as to what he will play like. If they will go for completely traditional or have him control a little more fluidly like on rising.

    • neocatzon

One thing to consider, Raiden refuse using his sword and went with rifle instead. I think he will play like Snake in MGS:V demo.

  • Ouch My Head Said Dionysus

it’s currently 29.99 gbp on amazon. So…preorder before the price goes up, i guess!
