Crytek Develop First Free-to-Play Title In Collaboration With Mobage

DeNA, operators of the Mobage games platform, have a knack for teaming up with interesting developers to help bring games their way. In the past, they’ve teamed up with Square Enix, Cygames, Media.Vision, Capcom and more. Next on their list—Crytek.

The developer behind Crysis and Far Cry is teaming up with DeNa to develop its first free-to-play mobile game, called The Collectables. The game runs on Cryengine technology, just like all of Crytek’s other games, and has you assemble a team of soldiers to deploy into combat.

Collectables is a 3D game, and Crytek say it features diverse enemy types and “game-changing rewards” to unlock. It’s slated for release in 2014 on iOS and Android devices.

Was interested until I saw the “iPhone, iPad…” in the video title, and then my eyes glazed over.

Me too, but watched the video anyways because it’s so short. Could be a fun little time waster. Not bad, but not sure it’s something I’d wanna play on a touch screen.

I can see random weapon packs costing about 30$ …character packs costing about $100 with a 1% chance to get a decent one for either pack… Now I’m just guessing ;P not like they do this on every game…right…right <;o
