wow ce for this game really? SE iAM planning to buy the game to end the series but not after it droped to 20 or something i cant imagine anyone buying this ce though at full price and with the shipping costs to some there are other games ce 100 times better spending your money on (in my opinion) like the witch and the hundred, persona 5 ….etc but if you have the money go for it

    • Eddie

Although I’m gonna pay full price for the game I do get your point. I like the Final Fantasy 13 saga but I do feel it isn’t as good as other Final Fantasies mainly in the story and character areas. It does seem like whenever you critique or criticize a Final Fantasy title people automatically hit the dislike button a billion times. I’ve given Square Enix criticism on the Final Fantasy 13 series before, so I to have been a victim of the “auto dislike syndrome”

    • Herok♞

Better is completely subjective, I feel the FF13 games have been some of the best games in this generation, but who am I to say you can’t have your opinion, like personally I also really enjoy NIS games but looking at the witch and the hundred knight doesn’t really interest me. Also after playing the demo for LR:FF13 I am confident I am going to fully enjoy it so I would have no issue buying the LE at full price if I can secure the funds

      • brostar

Wow. I know that’s your opinion and you’re entitled to it but…. wow. Really? Final Hallway Simulator 13 and the two better ones? Wow. I don’t get it. But okay carry on.

        • Herok♞

a game is linear big deal, I rather have a straight forward game that gets to the point then one that just throws you in the middle of nowhere and is just as linear only with extra travel time thrown in changing nothing, seriously I can name games of all genres just as linear, and linearity takes nothing away, the lack of overworld and all that jazz was a change of pace for an rpg and I personally enjoyed it, also way to be your own person and come up with your own way of describing something, or maybe you are jontron, I really don’t know or care to be honest

          • brostar

It’s not really the linearity that killed but the story and characters. They were absolutely awful. Toriyama should not be allowed to direct a Final Fantasy game again. It’s why the two sequels are better in terms of gameplay but still shit in the story department

And your last point. Err… what? I did come up with a way to describe it. It’s linear. Like a hallway. Am I not allowed to use that because one guy on the internet who I’ve never heard of until now used it? Oh… okay. In that logic then Final Fantasy shouldn’t exist because RPGS had already been done. :p .

          • Herok♞

The story is perfectly fine, I don’t see why anyone would have a problem with it, but then again some people don’t like some stories and that is perfectly fine and most people have heard of jontron, if you take a joke from someone well known, weather or not you know about them don’t be surprised if you are called a thief, after all if go to see a comedian who stole all of his material from other people are you going to commend them anyway?

      • Chido55

        I feel you.
Really enjoyed XIII but not XIII-2, that’s a downer.
The review said that it can be finished in 60 hours, I played it up to 150+ hours.

Because killing giant turtlesaur is fun, I lost track of the time XD

    • negineBIT

Boooooooooo. If ya hate it, why bother?

      • Guest

dude i didnt say i hated it how can i hate a game i didnt even play yet read my post again

        • Vesperion

After reading the post I don’t know how anyone could think you didn’t like the game

          • Guest

i didnt like buying the game ce at full price because its not good enough in my opinion for now again how can i like or dislike a game before even playing it is behind me

        • Chido55

Must be caused of how you arrange the wordings. Cause everybody totally understand that you totally don’t hate it.

          • Guest

how can someone hate a game he didnt play i dont hate it and i dont like it yet because i didnt PLAY it yet

          • Akemi Homura

As hilarious as this whole conversation is, I must point out that there are reasons to dislike a game besides how it plays. If I hate everything a game stands for, I will hate the game. I do not need to play the game to decide that.

Hatred is funny like that, it can be directed at just about anything for any reason at all.

        • pimpalicious

The pic implies you are hating on the game. :P

          • transferstudentx

the pic implies that i am hating on the dislikes not the game

  • Eddie

First The Witch and the Hundred Knight and now Lightning Returns! So many good games that are releasing. I’m gonna be so poor after all buying all of this stuff… -_-

  • Stranger On The Road

If that pocket watch is a real working pocket watch, then I am getting 2 of those: one never to be open (per the rule) and the 2nd to extract the game and pocket watch from.

Now bring it over to the EU, I’ll walk with that pocket watch proudly.

All the above being said, I would have appreciated another CE that included all the 3 games; like the limited edition in Japan.

  • Pouncebounce

Not as exciting as the UB in Japan but it’ll do.

  • Herok♞

I knew it, thats why I didn’t preorder it yet, but $90 +$50 + $80 = $220 only on CEs already next year wholly crap

  • Zonic505

Huh, that looks like a decent LE, especially that pocket watch. This seems rather temp…

“exclusively through the Square Enix Online Store.”

…..ooohhh….I’ll have to wait & see. Kind of hoped it’d be available via GS or Amazon.

    • Pat Kosa

I’m trying to buy on the Square Enix Online Store, but it seems to be stuck with adjusting my shipping information…which doesn’t need to be adjusted. Is that site always this broken?

  • Meh. Even a pocket watch isn’t worth it. I’m going to wait to get this one.

    • Herok♞

I would have waited but its a SE store exclusive, which worries me since last time I wanted a game from a store that was exclusive people bought them all up and changed ridiculous amounts, this was Ni no Kuni by the way

      • NNK’s LE was a bit more stylish with that giant tome. I didn’t care for the game, so I’m glad I got the regular version. Still, it was a unique idea.

        • Herok♞

also I just put my purchase in and it is from digital river as well so I am going to say if you have any interest of owning this get it now other wise it might end like NnK.

          • Eh, like I said I’m going to wait to get the regular edition of this game. It’ll go down in price eventually.

  • Q1 2014, Burn munny BURRRNNNNNN!

  • mockturtle

I have a question for Siliconera people. I was about to run and buy this, but then I saw that their store does free shipping for orders of $100+. I was going to add Final Fantasy Tactics PSP (which I’ve been meaning to get for forever) since that’s $10 and the shipping for this CE alone is $7, but I was two cents short because everything ends in .99. =

So I took a look around their store, and I found two possible additions to my order. Tomb Raider Trilogy for PS3, which is $15; or the Parasite Eve I & II soundtracks, which is $30 and I wasn’t even aware it was available in the US. I’ve only played the first Parasite Eve, but I love it and its soundtrack, so that seems like the better bet, but it costs more. Anyone have any suggestions on which I should go for?

    • Stranger On The Road

The game you don’t have or the game you most likely to play. Otherwise, pay for the shipping since you are not saving by spending more.

Any way, this a pre-order for February next year, you might want to pre-order something that comes between now and then -if they have anything like that.

      • mockturtle

Not sure I understand your response. But I’d rather pay $15+ for something than $7 for literally nothing.

        • Stranger On The Road

Basically, you have to option to pre-order 2 games, do you plan on getting Drakengard 3 or Final Fantasy X+X2? Look into them.

Although, make sure that they are willing to split the shipping for items that are released on different dates. Otherwise FF13 CE has to be the later one.

Regarding the ‘saving on money’ point, you see as saving US$ 7, I see it as wasting US$ 8. It is just a difference in our point of views.

          • mockturtle

Oh, I see, I wasn’t aware you were referring to either of those. I already have X|X2 HD preordered from Amazon, and I’m waiting on Drakengard because A) we don’t have a release date, and B) I’m hopeful that it might get a limited edition also.

            Anyway, to each his own.

  • I was going to jokingly ask if it came with a bonus costume for Lightning, but…

    Yeah. It does.

  • Artem Chashinov

Cool but there no shiping to my country.

  • Thrasher429

I would absolutely have bought this if it wasn’t exclusive to the SE store and didnt ship to my country

  • Muranasa

great, no shipping to germany, eu. bleeh

  • Slickyslacker

First ToS HD, then The Witch and the Hundred Knight, and now, most of all, Lightning Returns…

Well, at least I haven’t pre-ordered the former two yet. My wallet can hardly withstand this brutal punishment, however.

At least pre-ordering this guarantees the Cloud exclusives, as well.

Poor PAL, though. Even the most miniscule Latin American countries have easy access to this, but no Europeans :/

  • Muranasa

    No shipping to Germany/EU blehhh

    • Zohard

Euh why do you want to get the american LE ?

      • Muranasa

Because it looks good imho and I can’t know if there will be an EU one

        • Zohard

I’m pretty sure we’ll have the same here.

  • negineBIT

I’m really tired of certain people who obviously didn’t care and hate XIII but still wanna comment..

DO NOT click on the article if you hate/dislike/meh it, capiche? Trolling ain’t doin ya any good.

If ya hate it, fine. There are some people who actually like the series, including me. Please don’t ruin the comment section. I mean, aren’t you guys tired on saying the same thing over and over again in every XIII-related article? sheesh

    • John Diamond

      constructive criticism isn’t trolling.
‘Lightning return sucks’ with a bad reason, or no reason IS trolling.

      • Implying most of the FFXIII articles have constructive criticism in them~

        • John Diamond

I don’t really see me implying anything. i’m just making a statement

          • KoRLumen

You’ll have to look harder, then.

          • John Diamond

No, there really isn’t anything. The first sentence is true, the second sentence is an example. I could’ve replaced it with anything

          • KoRLumen

It’s the fact that you brought “constructive criticism” into the discussion when the OP never mentioned them. OP was talking about the haters and strictly the haters. And haters typically don’t have anything constructive to say.

Now, it’s not like I disagree with you with your actual point. I’m just saying that you really did imply it, whether you intended to or not.

          • John Diamond

and people tend to conflate ‘constructive criticism’ with ‘hate’ Just look at the rap community if you want plenty of examples.

At the end of the day i was just pointing out the obvious. that is all. you guys were just looking too deeply into it

          • KoRLumen

Too true. And perhaps we were. Or perhaps the implication just isn’t as deeply hidden as you think it is. Nevertheless, it can and will be continued to be interpreted as though you were implying something. Which, evidently, you weren’t trying to.

          • John Diamond

eh, it doesnt matter either way. haha, no point in debating over this.

          • KoRLumen

            No kidding, haha.

          • Kumiko Akimoto

I think that’s really silly since there haven’t been any “constructive criticism” in the comment section

    • Eddie

I’m a fan of the series, I’d have to agree that constructive criticism isn’t trolling. I don’t think saying something sucks is constructive at all, it depends on how you word it. If an individual says “this part of the game wasn’t good and here’s why or here’s how it can be fixed” ~ I think thats constructive criticism. There’s nothing wrong with that in my opinion. I think people express their dismay because they care about the series and they want to see it’s problems fixed. I like to see people give positive critiques and I like to see people give constructive criticism, they both help. However there are some people that refuse to give anything but positive comments about their beloved company, even if they don’t agree with certain things. I think these people don’t really help the company improve. It’s disheartening to see someone give constructive criticism and then get 1 billion down votes, because he or she spoke about Square Enix, or Nintendo. (This goes for all companies.) I think people overall need to keep and open mind to things and learn to get along. In the end we all love video games, thats why we comment. (This is like my third comment on this article I’ll shut up now…)

      • DivinePhoenix69

There’s nothing wrong with constructive criticism, no game is perfect afterall IMO. But when you see the same people posting the same exact “constructive criticism” along with the usual 13 saga hate squad it tends to get a little tiring/annoying to read after awhile.

        • Eddie

I get what your saying. Sometimes it can be the same guy or girl. But I can’t help but think sometimes it just seems like the same person. Maybe it’s a different person but there’s a shared opinion. Similar to the way people usually post a shared praise for the series.

        • Guest

this is the first time i commented on this topic

    • transferstudentx

lol so everything you dont like reading is considered trolling by you
alse everyone is free to click hate like share anything they want in this site no the internet in general

    • PragmaticSoul

Funny, it seems the same FFXIII defense platoon posts the exact same comments all the time as well. Live and let live. “OMG Don’t say mean things about something I like!”

It comes off as whining from both you AND them. It’s not my fault FFXIII missed it’s mark as a good game. You have your opinion and I have mine, quite trying to silence what you don’t agree with.

      • Godmars

Aside from the unnecessary “e” you have in “quit” I wholly agree with you :3

Seriously though, if Square had simply moved on, put the developed from XIII’s sequels into something – anything – original, this argument wouldn’t even exist.

At the very least we’d be talking about how the next FF was overly pretentious and vapid. May just regardless.

        • Chido55

I agree. They should HD remake FF from 1 to 9 and then drop the series completely after, cause there is all where the love at.

          • PragmaticSoul

This idea is both good and bad. Mostly bad though. I want to see the FF series grow with new content instead of constantly profiting off of the old. But Square Enix is just so bad at handling the series now so who knows what they would do with 1-9. I’d rather they remain a GOOD memory, know what I’m saying?

Plus, do you REALLY want to see another FF4?

          • Chido55

I was being sarcastic to the one I am replying.
At this very point, all the FFs coming out with completely divided fanbase, lovers and haters respectively. His point was “FF was overly pretentious and vapid”, which I find absurd because thats just 50% of the actual voice uttered towards XIII and up.

I dunno what kind of FF fans group I am in, because I accept all the release with hopes and arms open wide, and judges them after I tried. On the XIII series, only XIII-2 falls down on me, while I spent 150++ hours on XIII. LR? I wish I could play right now :D

        • PragmaticSoul

Your comment was nowhere near as critical as mine yet look at the thumbs down you got. It’s hilarious how thin-skinned the FF13 fanbase is. We should just go back to worshipping Lightning and being delusional about the series’s flaws so that we can get accepted into the comment section, huh?

    • Kumiko Akimoto

I like how everyone talking about constructive criticism being ok forgets that these articles are filled with people going”Square enix made a dress up game, they ruined her character, lol all square enix cares about is boobs”

    • Kudan

I’d say anyone is free to comment, positive or negative about anything, sure it might piss you off if you actually like it and read negative comments but i’d say there’s the bigger problem of people taking criticism towards somethng they like personal.

  • KingGunblader

Eh, while I am getting this game I’m probably going to skip the CE… hopefully that Aerith costume gets released on PSN/XBLA as paid DLC.

  • Shindoi Hayato

I’m really surprised SE has gone and made 2 sequels to a game that initially didn’t do nearly as well as they had projected. I would have taken that as a “Well, maybe we should go back to the drawing board when we work on the next sequel in the franchise.”
SE continues to surprise me though. Rather than working on new and exciting franchises or sequels, they would rather give HD facelifts to older fan favorites (and not even the most requested ones at that), or making half-ass sequels to Final Fantasy titles that really don’t need them. It seems as of late, their biggest success stateside would be their revamping of FFXIV, which I really enjoyed (I just need to upgrade my PC so I can play it proper), and their smaller titles like Theatrhythm.

What say you guys? Since 2000/PS2 Gen, what have you really enjoyed, and what have you really hated about SE?

    • I wouldn’t say I “hate” stuff about SE, but I don’t like how long it took to release half of their stuff, most of which wasn’t that great to begin with. Regarding things I like, I would say I like certain remakes of games that bring back the nostalgia.

      • Shindoi Hayato

I think my only problem with remakes is that it is just rehashing the same old stuff rather than bringing out something new, but I can see your point though. Part of me wants very much to play FFXHD, but I don’t know if I will sit through it again. I think it odd that they will give the HD treatment to FFX, but sternly refuse to give FFVII a facelift even though throngs of fans have begged for it. They have given their reasoning concerning this, but I find their reasoning questionable.
I would rather they localized FF-Type Zero, or any number of games that did well overseas that never made it stateside. I know it can be hard to market certain games here in the U.S. though. I love the Dragon Quest series, and would love for DQX to come out in the U.S. but I don’t think the market is big enough to bring out an MMO like that here.

        • The only thing FFVII could benefit from is a fresh new look. Aside from that, I think the game has aged supremely well in terms of story, script, music and playability.

          • Shindoi Hayato

I agree. VII was in fact my first RPG ever. Prior to that, I was mainly a Fighting Game and Platformer gamer. I had a great time with VII. The Soundtrack for VII remains one of my all-time favorites to this day.

    • Chido55

Because X, X-2 can deal with HD Remaster, while FF7 requires a complete HD makeover. Do the dew ~

      • Shindoi Hayato

Understandable, but I think they stand to make a great deal more money with an HD FFVII remake as opposed to the FFX/X-2 facelift. Personally, I could care less if they do it or not (not trying to be one of those people that says “FFVII sucks, FFVI is way better”), It would take a considerable amount of work, but they already have 3-D character models/Character Designs from Advent Children that they could work with (we’ve seen them do it on several of their anniversary titles). I don’t want to say it would be free money, but I think it would be a considerable amount more than FFX would bring in, especially if you package in some kind of Limited Edition with several trinkets that cost pennies on the dollar to make, and jack the price up from the usual $60 to $100. The fandom for the game is so sickeningly strong that it would sell out no problem.

        • Ouch My Head Said Dionysus

An HD FVII would also cost hundreds of thousands (possibly millions) more than giving FFX an HD optimisation.

        • Chido55

The actual problem lies on satisfying the whole band of these nostalgiafags. If a flashy HD Cloud makes an appearance, kids over the 90s might love it for being HD, but, will this ‘new making of the highly sought FF’ up to par to the band of fans? This leave a cold sweat for Square, in case thousands of millions spent does not get paid back in total.

    • Herok♞

Can’t really say I hated anything about square since ever, sure some games people have differing opinions about FF12/13 but there are always the fans of stuff so it can’t all be bad

      • Shindoi Hayato

XII and XIII have definitely been some of the more controversial titles over the last couple of years. I feel from various forum posts you either love them or hate them (X-2 as well).

        • pimpalicious

I’m definitely in the middle on both FFXIII and X-2. Both have great battle systems but aside from that have other issues.

          • Shindoi Hayato

Yeah, those were definitely shining points for those games. XIII’s took me a while to get used to, because of my old school ways, but once I got used to it, I liked it. It was the characters that were hard for me to digest. X-2’s system was very fun, but the game’s dramatic shift in tone from its previous story is what threw me off.

          • pimpalicious

Agreed, though I still find myself looking forward to giving X-2 another go anyway, since I never did beat it on PS2. The Charlies Angels feel won’t catch me off guard this time and hopefully it won’t annoy me so much.

          • Shindoi Hayato

It’s a tough pill to swallow! Ha ha! I think it’s the voice acting that kills me on it most of all. I think had it been a stand-alone game, I could have really gotten into it. To this day though, I really love the Koda Kumi song that opens the game.

    • Ouch My Head Said Dionysus

I haven’t been very excited by SE since the 2000s. The SaGa series, my personal favorite Square franchise, is all but forgotten. Square went through a crazy renaissance period during the end of the 90s which resulted in some very interesting and radically unique games, ala Bushido Blade, Racing Lagoon, Einhander, Another Mind, etc.

We’ve never seen anything like this from them since, and we probably never will again!

That said, I’m very nearly bursting with excitement for Bravely Default and FFXV. I’m also cautiously optimistic about Lightning Returns.

      • pimpalicious

Bushido Blade and Einhander were awesome. I also liked Tobal no.1(wish the sequel which I hear is a lot better was localized).

        • Shindoi Hayato

Tobal No.2 was fantastic! If you can, import it. It’s absolutely worth the price of admission, as they say.

        • Ouch My Head Said Dionysus

I rented a copy of Tobal 2 back when it came out. It was pretty good! Fun to play, but a bit clunky. Ehrgeiz’s RPG-mode expanded on its ideas and made them more playable. But Toriyama’s characters for Tobal have an undeniable charm that Ehrgeiz lacked.

          • Shindoi Hayato

            Absolutely agreed.

      • Shindoi Hayato

Bravely Default! Absolutely! I upgraded from a 3DS to a 3DSXL for it! As for FFXV, perhaps once the PS4 comes out with its “slim” model, I’ll look into it.

But yeah, I remember that phase that Square went through. There were some really interesting titles released during that period for sure. Since then, it has been very Franchise Sequel oriented for sure.

        • Ouch My Head Said Dionysus

Yeah, tell me about it. I’m not getting a PS4 for a good few years yet. But who knows how far away FFXV is, anyway!

          • Shindoi Hayato

True. We’ve waited this long already just for confirmation that it even truly exists!

    • Amanda See

Their biggest issue is that they announce stuff WAY too early and wind up strapping themselves down because of it.

FF13 with Lightning as its lead was announced before XII even came out in the US, but they didn’t actually start work on the game’s structure or narrative until long afterward. But at that point they were committed to having Lightning as the main character, even though the narrative probably would have worked better as Vanille’s story. So we wound up with a game that constantly shoved Lightning in everyone’s face even though she does nothing to drive the plot forward on her own. Seriously, you could remove her from the game completely and it would have zero effect on the way the story progressed. I like Lightning as a character (her bitchiness is endearing for some reason), but it’s obvious that she was shoehorned into the story.

The same problems happened with Versus/XV. They announced it way too early, and it eventually became a joke. Worse, the announcement distracted from XIII in the PR cycle and probably contributed to that game’s negative reception. Long before XIII came out or even had any gameplay info released, the general consensus on Western gaming sites was that Versus would be the better of the two games (I guess because it looked grittier and had fewer Nomura zippers). People started LOOKING for problems in XIII before it ever came out, and places like Kotaku and Destructoid latched onto every negative talking point they could. FFXIII absolutely deserves some of the criticism it’s gotten, but looking back it really feels like there was a concerted effort to find fault with the title in an attempt to confirm what everyone thought they already knew.

      • Shindoi Hayato

Fantastic post. I agree about their announcing things far too early. You bring up some fantastic points. Well done!

      • KingGunblader

        You’re great.

  • Amanda See

I want it, but I don’t really feel like paying $7 for the cheapest shipping and having to wait 5 days after the release date for the game to arrive.

  • pimpalicious

Nice set but for me to order from the SE store and pay/wait for the shipping they’d also have to throw in a soundtrack. I would easily order it from Amazon.

  • They gave this Collector’s Edition a little spark for Lightning. It’s pretty nice, and I was getting the game anyway so why not lol. I think I’ll wait a little closer to release date to order though.

    • ShadowDivz

It’s the watch that caught your eye or the artbook?

      • The pocket watch certainly did catch my eye, but I like this collector’s edition as a whole. It’s pretty nice in my opinion.

  • godisdead

This is pretty awesome, given the fact that Square didn’t release a CE of XIII in the US, I’m pretty happy that Lightning Returns is getting one. An 80 page hardcover artbook is pretty tempting…

    • pimpalicious

XIII-2 did and was available from other retailers. Too bad this one is exclusive.

  • Furu Chi

Still waiting for that Final Fantasy Type-0 localization news

    • ElAbuelo69

      Keep dreaming son.

    • ShadowDivz

      Stop. It’s not happening.
If it WAS going to happen they would have atleast said it was in the works by now.
So far all we got is “we might be thinking about probably localizing it….maybe.”

  • The Watcher

The Final Fantasy XIII series is just “filler” so to speak. The game wasn’t made in the intent to be a masterpiece. It is just a placeholder for SE to hold RPG cravers until FFXV arrives.

What’s more interesting is Final Fantasy X-X2 HD comes out a month after Lightning Returns. Instead of a ~6 month or so gap. Which makes me think perhaps XV is not too far off than we think.

Then again there are those theories going around saying 20XV=2015

    • Chido55

      and PS5. =D

    • Godmars

More that it was an overreaching and overestimated attempt with unfamiliar demanding hardware which with the sequels turned into fan exploitation.

  • Steven Lamphere

Seems pretty typical that they would choose Aerith’s most painful looking weapon to use

  • juma086

Pre-ordering this. I’m about to bring back pocket-watches, son.

    • Servant BerserCAR

  • O_O Master Clueless

  • Sylveria

    *Sigh* I hate myself… *pre-orders it*

  • Yan Zhao

Finally. Now I can finally pre-order. Been waiting for this announcement lol.

Too bad we get no Lightning figurine like in Japan.

  • Ty Austin

Well this is annoying, I wanted the Cloud DLC from getting at Gamestop, but now I want this edition. Such difficult first world problems…

    • Sylveria

You get the cloud DLC if you order this from the SE store.

  • TheExile285

    This looks nice and all but…………$90…………… in February 2014………. ;________;

    • SerendipityX

      Its all a conspiracy.

    • Charmchar

I guess throwing the word “collector’s” makes it more expensive…

    • Ric Vazquez

I know what you mean, all the good RPG games I want are coming out in February like Bravely Default, I think I’m going broke on that month LOL, but still..IT”S HYPE TIME!

    • Arcana Wiz

they want to kill your wallet, i’m with seren, it’s a conspiracy.

  • Zangetsu777

And here I was about to buy a watch

  • Josué

The watch is cool and ball, but I was expecting this to include the soundtrack…

  • NightzeroAX

Never ordered from SE and I really don’t want to. I’d rather preorder from Amazon so I guess I’ll sit this one out..

  • nathaniel

    :D i’ve always wanted a pocketwatch. plus i’m a sucker for artbooks

  • Sardorim

Wonder when they’ll do the FFXIII Trilogy Edition that includes all the games + DLC.

    • 하세요

I can see them doing a trilogy edition, but not including all DLC. That’s a HUGE price tag.

  • Tiramii

Mannnnn, I just finished paying this off at Gamestop on Monday. :/ I might just preorder this anyway and give my friend my copy.

  • Kornelious

I KNEW IT! sorry but this was inevitable

  • Loli Summoner

I like how the commits blow up when its about FF13.

  • karasuKumo

Please be just as good in Europe.

  • Julio D. Zulkarnain

February, aka the month video games squeezes my poor wallet.

  • gRiMmYdArK13

It’s so unfair that only NA gets this sweet edition whereas Europe receives the game alone. Why can’t it be the same as FFXIII Collectors Edition and FFXIII-2 Crystal Edition here as well?

    • RoxasTheUnknown1

NA did not get a collectors edition with the original XIII.

  • Michael Martin

Anybody else having difficulties ordering? I checked out with Paypal, but nothing is showing pending in my Paypal account nor have I received any sort of confirmation email. It gave me a reference number, but never actually said ‘thanks for your order!’.

  • ShadowScipio

Oh lordy, I was gonna resist but I’m a sucker for pocket watches and hardcover art books.

At least I went with the cheapest shipping so I’ll have a few days to enjoy Bravely Default and Dangan Ronpa before this gets to eat up all my free time.

Why is it that everything seems to be coming out on Feb. 11? Well, not like I’ll have plans for valentine’s anyway.

    • ShadowDivz

im a sucker for artbooks too.

Pocket watches? i don’t know, but i do think they’re really fancy.

  • Altumn

FUCK YES! Actually comes with a art book, not 5 pages. And a actual case for the game. Im so stoked!

  • EtherealEarth

From what I can imagine, FFXIII-3 Artbook is a fashion magazine with Lightning as the main model XD

    • ShadowDivz

      …..I’d buy it.

  • Detrimont

i’ll be getting the game, but this will be the first time i won’t be getting the SE, stupid school fees

  • Christopher Nunes

Online Store only? That bloody sucks… :<
However I'm still pre-ordering it from GameStop for the Cloud Costume, but getting it from SE Store might net me both Cloud and Aerith Costumes which is what I would get the most.

Well they release these special Costumes at a later date or are they pre-order exclusive (which I hate the most)?

    • 하세요

Bet they won’t let you know until after so you’ll be more inclined to get the more expensive version.

      • Christopher Nunes

Alright, I’ll grab it off of the online store. Though, do I need to register or anything to get it?

    • ShadowDivz

Most likely release at a later date. BUT sometimes, costumes really are pre-order exclusives.

      • Christopher Nunes

Don’t you just HATE the pre-order exclusives? It makes me feel like I have an in-complete game or I can 100% the game if I want to.

I remember back in the game where all these secrets and bonus items were in the game at the start and you can get it when you complete certain requirements. I miss those days… :'(

      • Christopher Nunes

Think the Samurai Costumes will be released at a later date? I’m getting the game from SE’s Online Store as I’m afraid I might not be able to pick up the game at GameStop as I will be helping my father for the next four months at his work place and it’s ALL DAY long. T_T

    • ShadowScipio

I preordered from the SE store and a cloud costume was automatically added to my order. It seems the Cloud costume is for every preorder, regardless of retailer.

Gamestop’s exclusives are the two samurai costumes.

      • Christopher Nunes

Samurai Costumes? IS there no way to get ALL of the Costumes from one pre-order?

  • Theofratus ‘Geese’ Lester

I’ll just continue sittin’ here and wait for Final Fantasy Mystic Quest 2 to be made… o.o

Hey, at least I didn’t criticize Final Fantasy XIII, unlike others. :p

  • artemisthemp

Now I just wait for Square Enix to announce the CE for EU
