Metal Gear Rising PC Version Coming To Steam “Any Day Now”

By Ishaan . December 14, 2013 . 4:00pm

The PC version of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is still coming—in fact, it should be available any day now, say members of Kojima Productions.

During the latest episode of Kojima Productions Alert (via: Metal Gear Informer) Kojima Productions staff revealed that the game should be available “any day now”. Answering a question from a fan regarding the game, Kojima Productions staff shared:

“Yes, it’s coming, and it’s coming sooner than you anticipate, actually.”

“Bottom line is, Rising on PC is not cancelled. It’s coming very soon.”

“Stay tuned. It’s coming sooner than you might imagine.”

“It’s in the final stages right now. You’ll be seeing it pop up on Steam any day now.”

You can find the quote around the 35-minute mark toward the end of the episode.

I don’t really like these practices.

Can’t they just annouce a fixed release date? Feels like PC ports just pop up on Steam whenever they feel like it

Oh well, definitely buying this on a sale.

    • Brion Valkerion

Because there is less wait time between Steam and “traditional” aka archaic methods of distribution. PC ports of stuff thats already been out for a while can just come online pretty much soon as the publisher/dev is ready which is awesome.

But yeah sometimes it might be better to at least announce it a week ahead or something haha #staresatff8

    • SolRevr

Yeah, doesn’t bother me. Might as well have a little mystery in life. We get used to knowing everything about everything now with the internet. No surprises left.

Kinda fun to log into Steam and…oh hey, FFVIII!

A nice respite from the hype machine feels good sometimes.

      • FitzpatrickPhillips

lol seriously, that was mye exact same reaction to FFVIII

  • subsamuel01

Played the game 3 times through, won’t even bother with the PC version but great for those who haven’t tried it yet.

    nanomachines, son!

As the only Metal Gear game I can play without saying “this is garbage”, I’m very hyped for this. The console version was impressive enough as-is, but I really wonder how this will look.

This is the best third-person melee action game … ever. The combat system takes quite a while to grasp on a deeper level, but once it all clicks, the flow of battle will have you looking forward to being attacked by ten enemies at a time. It is gloriously fun, and it leaves everything in the genre well behind. The last time a game this good in the genre came along was Ninja Gaiden on Xbox.

  • Triplicity

Suppose they need extra time to prepare all those nanomachines

Can’t wait to play the game on my PC.

  • Göran Isacson

I do hope it will feature all the DLC when it drops: I would instabuy it if it’s one of those “all extras included” special release.

  • xxx128

One does not need steam to obtain a non physical incarnation of this game. With that being said i would like to purchase a physical copy or else i shall pay you with imaginable currency :D

  • shadus

Think I will be able to stream this to my NVidia shield?

  • CirnoLakes

Glad to see they haven’t given up on this.
It’s been a long time, so hopefully that means they’ve been fine-tuning the PC port and making certain it is high quality.

Perhaps Konami realize that success in the PC market largely depends on a game’s quality of working within the platform. Many options are standard that some Japanese developers don’t realize, as they’re new to the development.
