    Great trailer!

  • RagingTiger44

Really getting a Crisis Core vibe from the combat system. That’s a good thing. I might give this series a chance because of this game.

    • Alex Shadov

I’m with you bro, love Crisis Core, long live Zack. (get it?)

  • Herok♞

I like how they are giving Lightning more of a sense of humor, he as opposed to the first game, where she was always serious and reserved, it was a really good trailer and something you could show to anyone interested

  • Nanaki

Awesome trailer! Just a bit more waiting.

  • Suriel Cruz

Maybe it is just me, but with these many trailers of a single game, I’ve kind of lost interest in it. To be honest, I don’t feel like it will be a day one buy for me. Next time with ‘Drakengard 3’ SquareEnix.! ^ ^

    • Alex Shadov

I’m with you, is like have already played the game … hate spoilers… but… I suffer the FF XIII-2 and… well… (I think I’m somehow a bit masochist) so, for me is a day one buy.

  • chroma816

This looks like a major improvement over the first 2, but I don’t know if I want to play them to get into this one.

    • Bobby Jennings

You don’t need to. This game has a habit of….making you believe the two games before didn’t even exist. That’s probably why it isn’t even called XIII-3

      • chroma816

        Is that true? Interesting.

Although I’m sure knowing the past 2 games would still be good. I got through half of 1 before I quit, and didn’t touch 2,

        • shuyai

no it is not true, it is a direct sequel of the 2 game before and all the same character

        • Vash bane

lolz I did the same thing.

        • Alex Shadov

Worry not, they probably are going to throw at your face all the important facts, FF XIII-2 have the story of the first.

  • Can’t Best Me

    meh..I’ll wait for price drop.

  • James Enk

the game looks better than i thought, but i find the guy talking in the trailer annoying

  • fairysun

    “Miaow … Miaow … Choco Caw ….”

    • Vash bane

now I need to hear that in the jp version lol
(im sorry I just found it quite funny)

  • Mimi

Do you guys think i would be able to understand the plot without having played the first two? If not whats the best way to study up without having to play them?

    • Yan Zhao

I dont think most of us who played the first 2 game understands the plot either loi. You’ll be fine. You can easily find a summary of each plot and that should be good enough to get started.

      • Alex Shadov

Ok… I played the first two games… and this is the plot… a resume of it, of course:
FF XIII: Keep walking… straight ahead is the next part of the story… see… I told you so.
FF XIII-2: So… who were you again?… Oh!, don’t forget save the world… and under any circumstance ask why we can’t go to the time line where Lightning save the world in FF XIII or why if Lightning could see the future, never thought that doing nothing could have being better.

    • Ehren Rivers

Supposedly, the Datalog in Lightning Returns contains most of the important highlights of the first two games. You should be fine to play fresh, as the goal during development was to make the game playable by people who knew nothing about the other two.

      • Vash bane

really now? interesting I was playing catch up by watching walkthroughs seeing as I no longer own the original (and pretty much forgot the story). that’s cool

  • Sesshomaru

    Aww I can’t wait!

  • Altumn

“I wan a go home, but I don’t know the way.”
“Here I’ll give you a hand.”
I love it! looks way fun and looks like square brought back some humor. It’s not all just a serious adventure. And they brought back (to me) Their old humor, Im so STOKED!!

Im also stoked you can move her! This is news to me, I thought it would be a great idea but didn’t think it they would do it!!!

    • Ehren Rivers

You can move her, but it’s only slow strafing unless combined with dodge or attack abilities.

      • Alex Shadov

Well… you know they will hate to make the battles that easy for you… especially if you can exterminate whole species in the game, beside… you can stop time… you don’t need to be a fast walker to kill everything in sigh.

    • Alex Shadov

Sorry… but in Crisis Core you can move your character… so… is not that incredible, especially because the went to this game with the only one playable character schema.

  • Luis Ibal

    looks amazing

  • Very nice trailer. I honestly am looking forward to it even more now =)

  • Raltrios

Welp, I’ve got about a month and a half to start and complete the second game now…

  • Alex Shadov

Is this really official… did anyone else heard Lightning saying that new battle system “…Is your funeral.” and about the extensive customization, “…you threw your life away”… seriously … Lightning hate Final Fantasy XIII.
