New Fate/Stay Night Anime By ufotable Gets Teaser Trailer

By Ishaan . December 27, 2013 . 9:00am

Back in July, anime studio ufotable—responsible for producing the Fate/Zero anime—revealed that they were working on a new Fate/Stay Night project. This project now has a teaser website, Anime News Network reports. The website can be accessed here, and features the teaser video below.

The meta tags of the website list this new project as a TV anime, with more information scheduled to be revealed through Vol. 9 of Type-Moon Ace magazine. A piece of text on the site reads: “The story continues for next generation children.”

Please Please please please PLEASE!!!! Let the Apocrypha heroes be there!! Especially Saber of Black Sigmund AKA Seigfried, that would be epic!!

    • bassgs435

sorry to burst your bubble but this is Fate/Stay Night not apocrypha

  • Servant BerserCAR

I only humble wish is to see this new Stay Night project will be as epic as, or more epic, than Zero.

  • xe7en

I’ve just found out that this will be Heaven’s Feel arc not the common route/saber. Holy crap this will be amazing! o/

    • Alexander Marquis Starkey

We honestly don’t know yet as there was never a confirmation, only Ufotable saying that they’d like to tell Heaven’s Feel. For all we know, they could do all 3.

      • J_Joestar

well the teaser does show a few stills that are unmistakably HF route.

        • bassgs435

those are from the HF op of the Vita version of Realta Nua

        • InvestedInYourFuture

And then few stills that are unmistakably UBW route. And few stills that are unmistakably fate route.

    • Ereek

Honestly, as long as it’s not Fate route, I’d be okay with it. I’m partial to UBW, but Rider’s presence in HF makes it worthwhile.

  • Go2hell66

My most anticipated anime at the moment

  • gangrelion

What a weak trailer! The only new scene was at the very end of the trailer, and it’s a scene that was already animated many times before…

    • mojack411

The key word here is “teaser”. It’s not supposed to show you much, only that it’s happening. Which is plenty enough for me for the time being. Heck, at least this one had animation, most teaser trailers have like a single still frame and a catch phrase and that’s it.

      • gangrelion

Yeah…I know, but it was a long trailer, so it made me expecting for more…I feel fooled…

        • InvestedInYourFuture

This teaser is something they showed in theaters with the release of KNK 3D few months back. Its pretty much only purpose was to state that “hey, our adaptation of FSN is a thing that is happening”.

They just made it available online now because the website for new project is up. Expect new material in between Jan 25 to Jan 30

    • MSJ

da fuck, who in their right mind would expect anything new???

this is the same trailer that got people talking about the ufotable adaptation a few months back.

  • mojack411

Oh shizznit. I cannot wait for this, especially since it’s supposed to be Heaven’s Feel aka, the TRUE ending on FSN. Not the ending Studio DEEN did in their anime or the Unlimited Blade Works movie.

    • Aleister Crowley

You do realize that the existence of 3 routes means that there is no TRUE ending? It’s the Nasuverse, after all. Every ending is cannon. Even the bad ones.

Besides, the man himself said that if one was TRUE, then the others would dissapear for him because they would be meaningless.

      • Arrngrim

I remember the last time I used the word “true” to describe something…man was I flamed. Hahaha…

        • Aleister Crowley

Well saying something like “true fan”, for example, or the like yields results like that . But here we have an established multiverse with parallel stories, by Word of God. There is no TRUE route or ending, like in Tsukihime.

BTW, how did the Valkyrie gig work out for you?

    • Aleister Crowley

The purpose of multiple routes is multiple endings. All the endings, good or bad are true canon endings. Oops, sorry about multiple postings, my comments appear and disappear.

      • J_Joestar

While i don’t remember if HF was ever labeled the “True” End,
i would like to contest that Multiple endings doesn’t automatically mean that there is no True Ending.

        • Aleister Crowley

It was established by the author that the stories are parallel. In this particular case, in the Nasuverse it is like that. If you take Majikoi for example there are several heroines and respective routes but there is actually a TRUE route, where the protag doesn’t end with anyone in particular. Funny thing is, the sequel can start from that route or from one of the heroine routes.

The only place where HF is labelled as TRUE is in the Tiger Dojo, where “Nothing is true, everything is permited and Lampshading is king”. In a meta way it is. It’s the last route you play and the end of the game itself.

        • Romancer Ecclesia

Pretty sure that despite the ambiguities of all three, the fourth and true ending was Realta Nua.

          • Aleister Crowley

Avalon was added to give closure to Shirou and Saber in the Fate route (the only route without one in a more romantic sense). Granted, you can only get it after unlocking everything else, but that’s because it is extra content.

      • mojack411

Yeah I see your point. It was hasty of me to label it as “true” but I do think Heaven’s Feel carried a majority of the major plot points in general for the series. Without HF knowledge, people would be confused as to quite a few events in Fate/Zero, for example.

    • Sergio Briceño

I’m hyped too. I don’t consider any particular route to be true in this case, but it was about time HF had some love.

    • InvestedInYourFuture

There are no “true”endings to FSN.

All three routes exist equally canonically, just as all bad ends do. ITs less of a “routes”and more of a multiverse

If one wants to adapt FSN CORRECTLY, one HAS to adapt all three routes in exact order they are supposed to be played.

theirs no true ending in the F/SN or the nasuverse as a whole. whatever the event that occurs in the route or the ending that you got is part of titanic multiverse that has alot of alternate timelines that some character exist whiles others don’t. or that all the events of a history never ocurred thus leading us to another story but with some similarities and diferent characters

  • akai

They should do Heaven’s feel arc. If they don’t, I will be very disappointed.
    But I’ll still watch :)

  • Hagaren

    Emiya#0 from 02:10. Hype!

  • negineBIT

    Irisviel… ohman, so much feel…. T^T

  • Brotato Chip

Please give us heavens feel :<

  • RichyGaming

Has to be Heaven’s Feel. They already did Fate/Stay Night and unlimited blade works. I’m gonna KILL SOMEONE IF THEY DO SABER ROUTE AGAIN!!! Well no, not really.

    • Shirogane Takeru

actually, the original anime was an amalgam of the 3, so a pure Fate route is ok too

but yeah, Heaven’s Feel over that XD

      heck, even FHA

      • InvestedInYourFuture

FHA would make even less sense without adapting all three routes, because a lot of technical details of what is going on in Hollow Ataraxia, REQUIRES you to understand WHY There are three routes and why they are all canon.

    • InvestedInYourFuture

No they did not. F/0 pretty much ignored DEEN’s FSN adaptation trainwreck and movie recap of UBW does not count as adaptation.

If anything, to adapt HF correctly, you HAVE to adapt other routes correctly, as HF relies on previous two routes to be eventful or interesting. Without the information we learn in previous two routes and without attaching to characters in previous two routes, HF is nothing more than mix of kitchen scenes and sex scenes.

  • ZEROthefirst

I’m really excited about this, but at the same time I’m disappointed. My disappointment comes from the fact that when/if this gets brought over to the West we’ll probably have Aniplex US grabbing it and making you pay out the ass to get it. I really wanted Fate/Zero, but not willing to pay $300+ for the sub and dub version, and sure as hell not $600+ for the sub only version. There’s a lot of other stuff I really want from them too, but they are absolutely ridiculous when it comes to pricing their stuff.

Hopefully it will go on Neon Alley like Fate/Zero so I can at least watch it once with a dub. That or maybe we’ll get lucky and Sentai Filmworks will get it since they renewed the license for the old TV series and the movie.

    • Masa

i feel your pain, the price for these blurays is just plain robbery, i am still yet to own any Fate Blurays/DVD’s because of the prices.

      • ZEROthefirst

At least you can get the original series box set for a decent price, whether it be the re-released box set from Funimation or Sentai (not sure how much the box set from Geneon goes for now). The blu rays for the series and movie from Sentai are affordable too, especially if you get it from someone else on Amazon or something for a lower price.

I would have gotten the blu ray set from Sentai if I didn’t already have the original dvd box set from Geneon. It would be nice, but to slightly increase picture quality for more money would be stupid on my end lol

    • Wesley Kenneth Houpt Mattingly

You can stream Fate Zero on Crunchyroll in beautiful 1080P. And UBW is $20 to own and Stay Night is $26.

  • I am very excited to see what Ufotable will do with Fate/Stay Night itself. It seems like they’re wanting to do a continuation of Fate/Zero, so I’m curious as to whether we will get any changes to the Stay/Night story (whether an altered Heaven’s Feel, an amalgamation of a few routes, or, essentially, a completely new route that builds off of Zero).

I’m now very eager for the new issue of Type-Moon Ace where we should be finding out a whole lot more about this new anime.

    Prepare your pants

I can’t say that i’m not hyped for this F/SN anime,.because i’m really hyped since i really like everything Type-MOON related
But I want more tsukihime love ):
And yeah, I know about the remake that i’m wainting to got released for years (Shion is right about Nasu)

    • X_Bacon

Yeah, I’d love to see a proper Tsukihime anime adaptation. :(
Maybe after the remake comes out…

well. shingetsutan was what made me got interested in type-moon. it still is one of my fav animes but after playing the VN know why they want to banish its existence

  • They updated their website

    • Aleister Crowley

Oooohhh, it’s not Sakura. I’m really hoping for a new adaptation with elements of the all the routes.

      • J_Joestar

forcing in elements of other routes is one of the things that made the original adaptation terrible.

        • Aleister Crowley

Touche. Still better than a pure HF. Or… remove those elements and make a pure Fate. But seeing the red cloth on Shirou’s arm, that’s unlikely. To be honest, as far as I dislike it, its most likely going to be a pure HF to follow Zero’s dark mood.

Wait! Maybe they want to do a non pure HF instead. Give more screen time to Saber Alter and kill off Shirou and I’m… still not convinced.

          • J_Joestar

yeah, HF is the most matching to Zero with it’s dark and depressing tone. Pretty sure Urobuchi had it in mind more than the others while writing Zero.

          • Aleister Crowley

Yeah, HF does end up taking the plot threads from Sakura’s plot. Each route follows with something from Zero. Saber and her struggle in Fate, Shiro and his principles in UBW and Sakura’s stuff in HF.

In a way, that’s what I dislike about HF. Other than important exposition about the War, it feels very empty to me.

          • InvestedInYourFuture

There are plot threads and metaphorical connections in Zero to all three routes, through all three heroines and their motivations.

Urobutcher did not dictate the plot. The main outline was given by Nasu. If anything, Urobutcher has outright said that his fav. FSN material would have been ubw.

          • Ni ~UNREAL BLACK THINGS~

            >Urobutcher did not dictate the plot
F/0 was supervisioned by nasu himself. even if Gen wrote the whole thing, Nasu had the final word of what was going to happen

          • J_Joestar

I never said plot, i said tone. two different writers given the same plot outlines and details to work with could still come out stories that feel very different with how certain aspects are emphasized or the different ways they can describe the same situations.

          • Ni ~UNREAL BLACK THINGS~

Ah, I see. But the tone of the fourth war always seemed to be darker even prior the release of Zero novel. the rumours that kept surrounding before its release plus how the interaction between characters and how the story was unfold during the final of the routes.

          • Daru Titor

those images came from the Vita version of FSN,
            if I’m not mistaken.

they’re from the intro videos for specific routes.
            (UBW and Heaven’s Feel)
            it’s from 2:00 to 2:10

          • jack

I kind of want them to mix in some UBW to honest. Heaven’s Feel’s plot is the most heavy but Unlimited Blade Works was the most heroic/epic.

    • Altin

Awwwwwwww snap, can’t wait for “REJOICE” *wink*

  • Aleister Crowley

The worst route gets the ufotable treatment. Dammit.

  • Zeonsilt

Is this Ataraxia TV or completely new story after original FSN?
p.s.It can also be a remake.

    • J_Joestar

Looks to be the 3rd Route unless the trailer is a lie.

      • InvestedInYourFuture

NOTHING in a trailer hints at it being a single route.

    • MSJ

the most likely answer is ufotable is gonna adapt all 3 routes, so glad we’re finally getting a f/sn adaptation.

  • Aleister Crowley

The worst route gets the best treatment. Ouch.

    • Eilanzer

IF this is indeed heaven´s feel…it is the best route…with best dialogue and plot by far.
      The worse is fate…sooo meh

  • So much hype! =^_^=

  • transferstudentx

    please be a remake

  • David García Abril

Will people die if they are killed here too? lol

  • boink

F/Z and KnK were amazing, so I’m sure Ufotable will pull this one off aswell.

  • Ryuki

I’m kinda waiting for a route that Shinji doesn’t die in. Poor guy gets killed off every time.

    • J_Joestar

      Unlimited Blade Works?

      • Alexander Marquis Starkey

        Fate? And Heaven’s Feel?

        • J_Joestar

he was asking for a route where Shinji DOESN’T die though…

          • Ereek

Better question: Why would anyone consider Shinji a “poor guy” and why would anyone want him to live?

          • MSJ

assuming everyone feels the same about everything, lol, dat flawed logic

          • DyLaN

Extra Shinji is a lot better than FSN one, so there tht.

    • bassgs435

      WTH? you like shinji? O_O

    • MSJ

did you even read unlimted blade works????

  • João Madalena

It totally is Heaven’s Feel you can see from 2:08 to 2:12 scenes from it.
Let’s hope it’s a success so they can remake the other routes especially my favorite UBW

    • Alexander Marquis Starkey

It has scenes from ever routes opening so it’s not really good evidence.

      • J_Joestar

where? i just see F/Z material.

        • DyLaN

The part after the “Trace On”. Those are the RN OP footage.

  • Prinnydoom

“Trace on..”= Goose bumps man. This looks amazing can’t wait for it.

  • Natat

    Oooh I see…

Shirou with Archer’s arm and Illya with the Dress of Heaven

    Heaven’s Feel I am ready!

    • bassgs435

they are from the openings made by ufotable for the Vita version of Realta Nua. no route confirmed yet

      • Natat

Wait what?! Daamn so much for that…
Still, here’s to hoping I guess

        • InvestedInYourFuture

Not to mention that the PV also contains scenes from UBW AND Fate. If anything this more than likely indicates all routes being adapted.

          • bassgs435

again , no confirmation here. just bits of the openings of the Vita version of Realta Nua which were also made by ufotable

      shut up shiki!!
go talk to nasu and see if we can get a tsukihime anime

      • Natat

He won’t listen! He said he’s too busy making his ETA of 2020 for the remake of the VN…

  • Amagidyne

The best route gets the ufotable treatment. Awesome.

(if it is in fact HF. I remain cautiously optimistic)

  • rpgmaniac

F/SN is one of my most favorite anime but Zero was kind of disappointing for me the only thing that it was better on Zero compare to F/SN was the animation that’s it everything else was meh.. too much blah-blah & “Zero” action there wasn’t this “EPIC” feel like in F/SN & also there wasn’t any attachment to the characters like in F/SN, F/SN is so special for me I remember how hard it hit me & I can’t forget it so many years after were I forget Zero the moment it’s over, so what I want to say is I really hope for this to be better than Zero & not experience the same disappointment once again.

you’re not going to like this “reboot” then. specially by the amount of text and dialogue that the source material has and by how Ufo and TM work together to do the adaptations.

Hopefully the animation quality improves. Fate/Zero was great but Fate/Stay Night was rather underwhelming.

    • Ereek

Are you talking about the SN anime or VN? Because I can’t understand how people can enjoy Zero but find the VN underwhelming.

That said, the anime is an abomination. It’s really a shame, too.

      • MVRK HNTR

What is ‘SN’ and ‘VN’? I bought Unlimited Bladeworks on Blu-ray along with part 1 of Fate/Stay Night ( and did not like either at all.

The animation quality I felt was poor (at least in comparison to Fate/Zero) and the characters were rather bland (again, in comparison to Fate/Zero)

        • bassgs435

          SN: Stay Night
VN: Visual Novel (the source material that DEEN fucked up and ufotable is adapting now)

          • MVRK HNTR

Thanks for clarifying. In that case, it is the Stay Night anime that I didn’t like. I have not seen the visual novel.

          • Lumi

Zero is a prequel novel to FSN (the visual novel) that faithfully adapted and expanded on. The FSN anime adaptations are all pretty subpar, so it’s best to read the visual novel by itself (unless this anime will actually do it justice)

        • InvestedInYourFuture

          FSN – Fate Stay Night

          VN – Visual Novel.

The original FSN is a visual novel, which told its story through three equally canon variations of same event, played in certain order to tell the full story.

DEEN’S FSN “adaptation” and “movie” are not even canon by this point considering how trainwrecky they are.

        • Ereek

The other people covered it, since I’m a bit late, but you should really read the VN if you want to experience F/SN. It’s long enough that an anime can’t adequately portray it without cutting things or making it utterly confusing. The already-existing anime adaption is abysmal and this one will probably still be missing a bit of content as well.

  • Brandonmkii

    Dat EMIYA.

    • Shirogane Takeru

      yea, awesome version of EMIYA

  • WyattEpp

Siliconera: Welcome to the Well-Known Side of Anime ;)

  • Rick

    Can’t stand Fate. Highly overrated.

    • serpentear

Then why are u here, pRick?

  • wererat42

So many spoilers up in this piece.

  • neocatzon

Yay~ proper Enuma Elish once again. Also Avalon and every overwhelming Noble Phantasm can be properly animated and context corrected.

  • DawnWolf

Got to say I feel trolled to find that the very same day I finish the Fate route of the Fate/Stay Night VN they announce a remade anime. Trolled but happy, Ufotable is by far one of the best animators of all time. Definitly would pick up the English Blu-ray release like Fate/Zero

  • shuyai

i hope they keep the original song “Disillusion” by Sachi Tainaka, i dont know why but that song get my skin crawl with excitement

  • Ketsuyame

Wait, is this a prettier remake to FSN or another chapter moving the series forward? Like new characters in a new holy grail war? I’ve seen F-0, FSN & UBW so I’m trying to figure out what this is.. I’m sorry just a little clarification would be great. Thanks guys.

    • Ereek

It looks like it’s a re-adapation of the Visual Novel (the source material for the anime). There are definite teases of all 3 Paths in the trailer, so none of us can be quite certain what exactly is going to end up in it. I just hope it’s not all paths at once like the original anime attempted.

    • InvestedInYourFuture

Its what it says on a tin.

Its Fate Stay Night, a sequel to Fate/Zero that covers the fifth grail war.

Remaking FSN is not just about “pretty”, as FSN version by DEEN is only around ~10% faithful to the original VN it is based upon – having tried to fuse all three routes into one, having failed to adapt any of character development(in case of main character any of character growth for him was outright cut out from that adaptation) and having stuffed about a dozen of anime original nonsense(hint: around ~70% of that anime NEVER happens in source material) into it.

  • MSJ

lol leave it to the retards to try to devolve this thread into complaining about aniplex pricing and the holy route wars *facedesks*

  • serpentear

Please let it be kajiura who handle the ost again…that zero gave me goosebumps thanks to the soundtrack…

  • OMG a remade of the anime adaptation by ufotable?!?!?! I love the original adaptation, but a remake by ufotable is going to be great!!

  • Croix Zapp

Hell YEA……….after this maybe they can remake tsukihime?

    • Lumi

Tsukihime remake requires work on TYPEMOON’s part, so… sigh.

    • InvestedInYourFuture

Don’t….expect it till Tsukihime VN remake releases.

  • Astrotrain

  • s07195

So long as people die when they are killed in this one.

  • Eder García

    2006 FATE anime never existed

    • DyLaN

Ppl should be grateful tht the botched up anime itself tht introduced a lot of ppl to T-M. I myself started to be aware of T-M products after F/Z.

      • InvestedInYourFuture

Just because it introduced people to a franchise, should not excuse its flaws.

The 90’s batman movie franchise introduced A LOT of people into batman. That does not change the fact that Batman&Robin was pure kitsch though.

        • DyLaN

I never said tht the flaws can be excused. My point is, ppl should acknowledge the flawed adaptation rather than treating it as unspeakable shame tht never happened.

Though when used in a joking manner I can live with it.

  • Eilanzer

this version will be the heaven´s feel route?!

oh god…please someone say yes *o*

    The best version!!!!!!!³³³

  • DyLaN

New official art of queen Arthur Saber.

  • Lutfi Ardiansyah

the chronicle of shirou emiya : The birth of Alchemist hero Unlimited Blade Works !

  • KanjiLikesBoys

so it’s a re-telling of the first anime? will it be less harem-y?

    • InvestedInYourFuture

It has nothing to do with the first anime.

      • KanjiLikesBoys

no? Why did this trailer show the 2 sisters and that guy who summon’s saber in the first one?

        • Mr_SP

Well, it’s likely got nothing to do with the first anime, which was a fair bit different (and worse) than the Visual Novel it was derived from. However, it’s surely an adaptation of the visual novel, though whether it’s Fate, Unlimited Blade Works, or Heaven’s Feel is unclear.

          • KanjiLikesBoys

            I seeee
            thank you!

    • Ereek

It’s honestly a bit distressing to me that some people’s only exposure to Fate/Stay Night is the anime. It’s no wonder people think it’s overrated or bad if they’ve only seen the anime.

Er, to answer your question, no, it’s probably not going to be less Harem-y. Especially if it takes Heaven’s Feel elements.

      • InvestedInYourFuture

Agreed on second part. Most of HF’s depth and emotional impact comes from the previous two routes. Without it, it might as well be a porn movie(or cooking handbook)

      • KanjiLikesBoys

is it really so distressing that so many people’s first exposure to this thing is a very popular (and yes terrible) and heavily marketed localized version show that was available to watch on regular cable? and not the far less popular novel and psp/ps2 game?

        • InvestedInYourFuture

Its as distressing as the fact that so many people’s first exposure to vampires is Twilight instead of Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

      • KanjiLikesBoys

but thankfully I’ve gotten answers to find the true origins from helpful people

  • Nothing but goosebumps… OMGGGG YES

  • jack

This has to be heaven’s feel. Fate already got a series and the slightly more accurate tv movie special. Unlimited Blade Works (my personal favorite) got a movie. Heaven’s feel being arguably the most in depth and interesting deserves it’s own series (or movie). I’m not extremely excited for and dreading this, since as awesome as Heaven’s feel was, Sakura’s backstory seriously depressed me. like heart wrenching, stomach churning, I paced back and forth in my room depressing.

    • InvestedInYourFuture

F/0 ignores DEEN’s trainwreck FSN adaptation.

UBW recap movie DOES NOT COUNTS.

HF is only most indepth if the other routes are adapted before that. Without the correct adaptation of other routes its ~40% cooking scenes, 49% sex scenes and 1% really badass fighting. And unlike fate, which at least had Saber carrying it through less interesting parts, Sakura is not in anyway interesting or capable of leading a route by herself(hence why HF lead role is pretty much hijacked halfway by Rin and Rider)

Shirou’s character is yet to be done correctly, fate and UBW are yet to have correct adaptations, without whom half the HF will feel like a random asspull.

Also if it was HF, they WOULD NOT be using EMIYA song, there would NOT be UBW-realta-nua-op scenes in the PV and they would NOT be focusing on Saber so much in the PV and the website, as Saber has pretty much zero importance in HF.

Hey, hey, everyone, what if ufotable just write their own route, having the elements of the 3 routes implemented with their own recipe. Everyone happy?

        • InvestedInYourFuture

So basically you want ufotable to do the SAME mistake Studio DEEN did? Nope.

          • Ridho Siregar

that was DEEN’s recipe. and what they did is not writing a new route. What they did is cramping UBW and HF elements into Fate.

and I thought you guys have faith with ufotable.

So you’re saying this is Unlimited Blade Works? Cause UBW is actually my preferred root.

Maybe they can do like an Amagami SS version. Covers one route, starts all over with the next route.

    Looking forward to more Fate

I’d love nothing more than a straight up Heaven’s Feel adaption. Maybe tweaked a little to get characters the route doesn’t focus on a little more development.

so am i the only one that hates shirou with passion ?
