By Ishaan . December 31, 2013 . 10:00am

Tony Swatton is a blacksmith that creates weapons, armour and props for movies, but is also fully capable of creating real-life weapons. In a YouTube video series called Man at Arms, Swatton makes real-life replicas of weapons from different videogames and pop culture, requested by his followers, and his latest creation is Chrom’s Falchion from Fire Emblem: Awakening.

Other weapons Swatton has created in the past include Kingdom Hearts’ Keyblade, God of War’s Blades of Chaos, Zelda’s Master Sword, and the Buster Sword from Final Fantasy VII.

Frick frick frick HE DID IT.

    I love this guy.

  • Jesse

I love those weapon building videos. ^^

  • CptPokerface

Not as detailed as the actual Falchion but incredible nonetheless. Doesn’t really get any better than that.

    • 하세요

I believe he recreates these as if they were in the real world, as these blades are real ass weapons, not just some cosplay props.

      • CptPokerface

Ah, that makes sense. Either way its still cool as hell. In hindsight i doubt most would notice the finer details of the blade anyways, especially seeing how easily it sliced through those thick soda bottles.

    • colorblindnightmare

The amazing part is that he always makes them practical. A bit of detail is passablr wouldn’t you say?

  • Thrasher429

I have mixed feelings about these videos. On one hand I love them cause they are amazing….On the other hand I really wish you could buy them T_T

  • Derek

    That was awesome!

  • Go2hell66

Taking nerdiness to the next level

  • colorblindnightmare

Man at Arms is an amazing show. So many awesome weapons and such skill. Makes me proud to be a smith in training.

  • Anewme…Again

He also did the Keyblade, which is one of his most awesome sword he made until now imo.
Edit: Nvm i didn’t see that the Keyblade was also mentioned.

  • Suriel Cruz

Why I haven’t seen this, WHY??!!!…. -goes to subscribe and suggest Sephiroth’s Masamune Sword-

  • Jesse

I’d like to suggest some Tales weapons to them. =D

    • Van’s sword from Abyss, Lloyd’s swords from Symphonia…

    • Prinnydoom

Dein nomos do it. Do it now.

  • TheGioG

*Skips to 4:15 in the sword making video*
…Fellas, what are you doing? Fellas, stop… T-T

  • You forgot to mention my favorite so far. Sokka’s Meteorite sword, which he made with actual METEORITE!!

  • Pdugna

I keep suggesting the Dragonslayer from Berserk since he has done big swords before.

    • BossBullet

He isn’t going to make the big swords like those because he said in his buster sword video. The weight and size was a big problem.

If it was like ichigo’s sword it might happen.

he used aluminium to forge the Buster Sword right? I remember he saying that if he used iron no one would be able to wield it.

        • BossBullet

Yea he used aluminium, and other things .
After i re-watchi it he never said Anything about iron.

    • MrSirFeatherFang

It seems to be impossible for a human to wield such a slab of iron… besides Guts :P

  • LBattle0819

Just found himself a new subscriber

  • Ace Esper

I wonder if he could make Ragna’s Bloodscythe.

  • fireemblembeast

    :U Coooool!!!!
I’d love to see Ragnell, as well

  • Anesia Hunter

    And that was just awesome.

man at arms needs to be tv show asap. or some kind of internet series.
the latter is better since i don’t watch tv anymore

  • shuyai

now make Samuel Rodriguez sword or Ga-rei michael 12 that can fire the fricking sword then i will bow before you

    • TheDarkEmpress

Or Rai-Dei the Blade’s sword from Trigun, although that one is essentially a basic-looking katana with a gun in hilt, but still same concept.

  • Pekola

Looking at this video, I have earned newfound respect for blacksmiths. You see all those swords and designs paying extreme attention to detail and you have no idea how much attention goes into it.

That said, I think the actual Falchion is heavier and thicker. But considering how much work and how realistic it needs to be, I’d say they did an amazing job.

    “Anything can change!”

  • cyberkinghardy

I wonder if these blacksmiths are also otakus.

    • neocatzon

By open definition of otaku they are.. Smithing Otaku!

  • Gosh, anime weapons sure do look pretty silly in real life.

    • Mike Pureka

Eh; I thought this one looked pretty usable. Certainly no stranger than the weapons for The Hobbit or The Lord of the Rings, most of which were designed to at least seem usable.

  • zuuum

He should have let Falchion wear 2 bows that says:

“Falchion the divine dragon slaying sword of legends!”

” Falchion the royal fruit knife of Ylisse!”

  • David García Abril

I tweeted the video to Yusuke Kozaki, the character designer of the game, and the guy who designed the sword.

Looks like he loved it! :)

    • D-Omen

Ha ha, yeah, I saw it! “So awesome!” :D

  • Anthony Birken

  • Mordina

So cooool! I want one! >.<

  • Dianatos

Pointy Demonspanker has never looked better.
