Rayman Legends Coming To PS4 And Xbox One A Week Early

By Ishaan . January 10, 2014 . 2:32pm

Ubisoft have moved the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Rayman Legends up by a week. The game is now slated for release on February 18th in North America and February 21st in Europe.

Buying the game on either platform will get you exclusive costumes based on other Ubisoft games and characters, including Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell and an assassin’s garb from Assassin’s Creed.

In terms of exclusive features, the Xbox One version will have ten inclusive time-limited achievements, while the PlayStation 4 version will use the Dualshock 4 controller’s touchpad for certain features. It will also support Remote Play using the Vita.

Rayman Legends is currently already available on PC, Wii U, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Vita.

Oh, the irony. A year ago it was delayed for an extra half a year…now it’s forwarded a week earlier.

  • E.T.993

Interesting…the game was supposed to be a Wii U exclusive, but then Ubisoft felt like whoring it out on every console, including Vita. Did it sell a lot, anyways?

    • AuraGuyChris

The game sold nearly a million copies, but that number is supposedly all the console versions combined. It did a lot more on the Wii U though.

    • Grape Monet

It sold below Ubisoft’s expectations, which is why these versions were made. I don’t think these versions will sell that well, either, since their already on everything else.

      • AuraGuyChris

That’s not entirely the reason. Ubisoft just wants to make sure the game is REALLY multiplatform.

Or, in my opinion, they are aware of the small shortcomings they came across with the Murfy controls when porting them over to other consoles.

It sold below expectations. Wii U owners will tell you that, if it hadn’t been delayed, it would have sold better. It sounds like wishful thinking though.

on wii u i could see it happening else where not so much

      • The game bombed across all consoles, but sold a little more on Wii U. Looking at the userbase on the Wii U compared to that of the 360 and PS3. It’s more of a crime for those systems than the Wii U. Also if it would have released during the early drought of games. It may have sold better. We will never know, but for sure we know. NO ONE BOUGHT THE GAME! Expect those versions to do the same!

I actually refused to buy this game because of how they delayed it just to bring it to multiple consoles, then gave more extras to those versions than the one for the system it was originally going to be for.

    • SlickRoach

Well you missed out on a good game. If it was Wii U exclusive I wouldn’t have bothered since I don’t own one and see any exclusives that pique my interests aside from Mario 3D World.

    • British_Otaku

Unless I’m mistaken, the game still plays best on Wii U regardless of the other content is being promised for the other version, but I guess you can help yourself to any version you want.

  • SlickRoach

But the biggest question still remains, do we get to play as Snoop Dogg?

  • sd28

im surprised they didn’t delay the game again so that they could have released all versions at the same time.

  • Kornelious

Huh, I wonder if the costumes are pre-order only….

    • DanijoEX ♬ the Cosmic Owl

I don’t think they are. Sounds like that they’ll be in the game already. I read that you can use Uplay points to get Funky Ray.

  • I’ve been holding off on the game, and a good thing I did. I will pick up the PS4 version.
