  • Gyro Zeppeli

Wow let’s make all the cool mobile suits that aren’t from SEED or Unicorn DLC only

    • Sardorim

Louise will be DLC too apparently with the Regnant.

If she doesn’t scream “GUNDAM!!!!!” every time she sees a Gundam I’ll be most saddened.

      • Kaihedgie

Whoa whoa, where’s the confirmation for THIS

        • Sardorim

It’s from te list that predicted these units and more despite many thing it was fake because of the files in the game supported 00 Movie units as DLC. So far that list has been 100% correct.

So Louise and her Regnant may be coming.

      • Gyro Zeppeli

Louise as DLC would be a great way to make no money at all.

        • Sardorim

Eh, she has fans and her Regnant is damn sexy.

  • sd28

i wonder if they will be as broken as wing zero endless waltz is

    • Kaihedgie

00 Qan[T] looks just as insane as Wing Zero.

    • Ni ~UNREAL BLACK THINGS~

Unicorrn and Qan[T} have 90% of chances of being broken

      • MrTyrant

        This.

Still I love Sinanju or a Zaku (?) I just like unbroken machine that can break the broken ones (!??)

  • bushin

    Amazing!!

  • Dark Zerato

Can’t wait for the Eng version. Hurry up BANDAI.

    • KnifeAndFork

And of course like usual, Bandai will localize this but not Extreme VS Full Boost or any other future Gundam title…

      • Renaldi Saputra

and there will be no SRW game

      • DaiRaiOh

Well considering this game has a bit more broad appeal, and has less copyright issues to deal with than Full Boost, it makes perfect sense to bring this over instead, as far as a business decision is concerned

        • Spirit Macardi

What Copyright issues? Bandai owns both the toyline and Sunrise after all, and all the Gundam series that have come to the US were localized by Bandai Entertainment.

This game seems like it would require more licensing, simply because they need to work out a deal with Tecmo-Koei; and possibly Ocean Studios if they decide to get the English VAs back.

          • DaiRaiOh

The music mainly. The songs in the game are basically a course full of hurdles as far as bringing it over are concerned

          • s07195

Well, since they have the normal and limited editions, with only the limited edition with the songs, wouldn’t it be likelier for them to at least bring the normal version over? (There’s still BGM edit anyways)

          • DaiRaiOh

The normal edition still has a ton of OP’s and ED’s and the such (At least has all the ones in the original game if I remember right). The limited just adds more along with the custom music option (from what I’ve read, seems to only be on the limited edition). And with that much music, they’d have to negotiate with so many labels to bring the game over, and I doubt they want to do all of that for what is honestly a game for a narrow market, as far as the west is concerned. Can’t really blame for it either. In the end, they’re still running a business and that would be an awful awful business move from a logical perspective.

          • s07195

Wait, BGM Edit only on the limited version? WHAT?

          • DaiRaiOh

Was reading a translated description of the limited edition bonuses on gundamguy and that was one of. Couldn’t find anything saying it would be in the normal version, though makes sense. They can’t exactly sell extra songs if you can just put them in anyway

          • Lynx

            No.

The only difference between G-Sound and the normal is that G-Sound has additional music that’s been pre-cut (AKA it syncs with the game). Edit is still in both.

    • Renaldi Saputra

idk, maybe Namdai now isn’t the 2010 Namdai anymore

  • Revorse

Is that a pirate Gundam? What’s up with that?

    • DaiRaiOh

Crossbone Gundam. It’s been around for a lonnnnnnnnnnnnng time now. Been super-popular for just as long

      • Revorse

It looks cool as hell. My knowledge of Gundam is extremely limited. Lol I like the mechs but I haven’t seen a series outside of G and SD.

        • Kaihedgie

So much you’re missin’ out on

By SD, do you mean super-deformed?

          • Revorse

Yeah. The one on Cartoon Network.

          • Kaihedgie

            Ah.

As for what series to start on, that’s a tough one. But speaking as someone who doesn’t have much of a problem with any one series, Wing is a good place to start. I definitely suggest checking out SEED and 00 when you can, as well. There’s a new series that’s out right now, but it’s for the long time fans since its concept is crossover-based

        • DaiRaiOh

To be honest, it’s a bit more than limited. You basically only watched the Gundam series that can’t really be considered Gundam series. Good shows, yes, but are off in their own little land and are nothing like the rest

          • Revorse

Oh man. I guess I got some research to do. You know a good starters series?

          • DaiRaiOh

Could always just start from the beginning and watch the Universal Century throughout from Mobile Suit Gundam. When it comes down to it, most UC stories (If you ever see the beginning of ZZ and Victory in general, you will understand), are fantastic with minimal amounts of bulls*** and deus ex machina created plot.

          • Kaihedgie

“and deus ex machina created plot.”

You didn’t forget NewTypes now did you?

          • DaiRaiOh

NewTypes aren’t really deus ex machina though. It’s just sci-fi elements in what is by all means, a sci-fi show. Certain character coming back in Seed Destiny against all reason or a lot of 00 season 2 however, is the definition of it. And not saying UC doesn’t have moments of it’s own with things of the such. Just saying that they don’t have entire shows that seem to run on them.

          • Kaihedgie

Z and ZZ centered around NewTypes, especially the latter. There isn’t a single significant mobile suit in that show that wasn’t run by a NewType and of course, there are the powers that those characters used such as Judau’s demon ghost thing or Haman’s psychic barrier repelling what’s suppose to be roughly the quarter of a colony-sized beam. And then there was Kamille’s infamous Waverider crash which was literally powered by dead people.

          • DaiRaiOh

Which aren’t really deus ex machina. Not really seeing your point here unless you really don’t get what a deus ex machina is

          • Kaihedgie

How using dead people as power ups not deus ex machina?

          • DaiRaiOh

Because there’s logic in the series that dictates as much. People who most definitely died being alive against even the show’s own logic with reasoning even the creator’s knew was bulls***. That’s deus ex machina. You just don’t seem to know what it even means

          • Kaihedgie

When did at any point in Zeta Gundam did it say that the Zeta could do anything like that? No one ever said a word about the Biosensor or that it could suddenly glow and swing around massive beam sabers just because the pilot was really really angry

          • DaiRaiOh

When they said it was an advanced psycommu system. It always made sense within the logic of the show. Just because they didn’t spoon feed it to you, doesn’t mean it doesn’t make absolute perfect sense when you look at what a psycommu and the biosensor itself does. Sometimes you need to think for yourself

          • Kaihedgie

Again I ask: when did that equate to dead people to power up your giant machine?

And some of the people Kamille used in that attack were dead a long time ago. The only thing we saw from NewTypes up to that point were controlling flying beam guns with your mind, not a Super Saiyan mode

          • DaiRaiOh

Yeah you don’t seem to understand what newtypes are or watched the original Mobile Suit Gundam, which makes this conversation extra pointless. I’m done with you. No point in arguing with somebody who is bringing up things they obviously know nothing about because they think they fall into the definition of a word they don’t know the definition of.

          • andref

But good job for trying. Since then new types and other spawn, have definitely been a bit super human in their abilities

          • Kaihedgie

Yeah no, I watched the original show and Zeta. I even watched the battles I mentioned. That stuff literally came out of nowhere

          • andref

I just saw it more of an eruption of his psyche though the conversations bit was a bit out there but its nothing new. I saw more as a way to strengthen Kamille’s resolve

          • Kaihedgie

It wasn’t just strengthening his resolve, they actually were there. They even stopped The-O from moving

          • andref

            Fair enough

          • MrTyrant

Seed, Wing and 00 probably. I don’t like them much but i think they are average and good for starting to see them. I would recommend the old ones story-wise but probably the visual would turn you off.

G Gundam isn’t much “Gundam” related in the sense that this one is more like super robot thing and all of them have super powers, fight in tournaments and all that but its still awesome to watch and have some very touching moments and very good characters. I did like this one a lot even being so different.

Then Gundam UC are damn large but they were the starting point of the whole Gundam stuff. You should watch Mobile Suit Gundam, Gundam Z, Gundam ZZ, Char Counter Attack movie and the latest ovas Unicorn Gundam, in that order. Z is my favourite with CCA movie and ZZ was horrible IMO but still important for the UC universe for various things.
What I strongly recommend is that after MS Gundam and Z Gundam, you should WATCH the ovas called: 8th ms team, War in the pocket and Stardust Memories. Those 3 ovas represent so much and they show very nice things, they are not directly tied with the main series.
F90 movie and Victory are not related with the ones mentioned even if they are still part of the same universe because of the time gap (many years in the future) but they were so damn good except that F91 was rushed as hell, it was supposed to be a normal anime with 12 episodes but Sunrise ended up doing a short movie.

After all that. You could also see Gundam X (who use UC concepts but it’s a different universe like Wing, Seed or 00) and Turn A Gundam, is interesting, very different from all the others. Is like a convergense of all multiple universes but don’t need prior knowledge the ones listed.

          • Kaihedgie

            Except they are.

You’re not speaking as a UC purist, are you?

          • DaiRaiOh

I’m saying it coming from a viewpoint of Gundam in general. G Gundam in the end, was Shonen fighting with Gundam pieces. SD Gundam was, well, SD Gundam. SD Gundam things have always been their own thing. They were good, and I personally love G Gundam, but compare it pretty much any of the main Gundam series and it’s just night and day

          • Kaihedgie

“You basically only watched the Gundam series that can’t really be considered Gundam series.” So what does particular comment mean? You make it sound like they’re not “true” Gundam series

          • DaiRaiOh

It means that the things one could consider the traits of a Gundam series, it doesn’t have. The message, the tone throughout, the moral grey zone and not so well defined villians, etc. etc.. It was always it’s own thing since the start and they knew it when making it. It came with the territory of being stuck making a tournament series because higher-ups said so, and only being allowed to change directions a bit of the way through

          • Kaihedgie

The tournament was created to avoid war in the first place.

          • DaiRaiOh

And? It doesn’t really change anything about what I’m saying at all

          • Kaihedgie

The things you describe aren’t really exclusive to Gundam. Sometimes it isn’t about war and the villains are very much played straight with no “gray zone” to reference.

Exactly what gray zone is there when your villains constantly resort colony dropping after gassing the people they claim they’re fighting for?

          • DaiRaiOh

Who cares if it isn’t exclusive to Gundam? What matters is that it’s things that the vast vast majority of core Gundam series have run on and are what any long time fans expect. And you also don’t seem to understand by what I mean by gray zone so there’s that much as well. Not really much point in arguing with you keep up like this

          • Kaihedgie

Who cares? You kinda do. You claimed G and SD couldn’t really be considered Gundam shows because of those traits you described.

          • DaiRaiOh

I’m saying who cares if outright not Gundam shows have them. THey don’t matter in what I’m saying and have nothing to deal with my point. They do no matter so there’s 0 point in bringing them up.

    • MrTyrant

Tha manga was released in the early 90′ and fans were waiting for a an anime adaptation for so lonnnng. If you watched the F91 movie, the pilot of that Gundam is main character from that movie. It’s like a secuel and it’s interesting to see the setting. They are pirates because they asemble the remnants of the antagonist group from the movies and the story show us how is Jupiter like in the UC timeline (we knew little of that in the original series)

      • Sardorim

        Thought it was F91 Movie.

Anyway, Crossbone is still going strong with Ghost.

        • MrTyrant

Damn I got mixed up with the F90 manga haha and I use the F90 in Gundam generation games.

  • KnifeAndFork

They are really trying everything they can so Japanese consumers don’t just buy the game beat it in a day then sell it and majority buy it used…

  • http://fr.twitch.tv/Nhatalya Aleksandrina

Can’t wait for this game. Love the gameplay (funny thing is that the gameplay of Gundam and One Piece Musou is more varied and unique than the DW/SW/WO series. Not trying to say DW/SW/WO sucks, it’s just an observation).

    • andref

Its probably because SW and DW despite being different series still fall within the same style of gameplay. So after much of the same sword/bow/gun style fighting, its nice to see a reskin with a different style.

    • Pyrofrost

It’s definitely the best entry in the series, imo. I had a few gameplay nitpicks with it personally; but all-around, it’s the best.

So look forward to an awesome musou game.

      • http://fr.twitch.tv/Nhatalya Aleksandrina

Yup, agree with you. I believe the Gundam Musou are one of their best franchises, personally. The next one (for the series’ 10th Anniversary, probably) should be even more awesome on the next gen. ♥

      • 愛憎

Interesting. I liked the third the most, honestly. Getting many of the mobile suits for everyone’s use, as well as unlocking most of the characters, is more of a grind in this one than any other.

        • Pyrofrost

As far as 3 goes, it’s my least favorite in the series.

As for this game, it is a bit more of a grind to unlock everything; but, for me, it was also a lot more fun to play.

  • monkey king

Qant was really cool in gundam extreme vs, but hold on is that playable DENDROBIUM?? Now I have 2 reasons why I need this game.

    • Mr_SP

Thankfully, it looks to be Orchis, not just Stamen.

  • Phill XVII

Cool. If they now DLC it should be 99% guaranteed that they appear in SGM2 right from the start.

  • Isaac Newton

    Dat Unicorn! Dat Unicorn!
    *Drools*

  • Aristides

So how about NB readies a western release too lol

  • DanielGearSolid

If From Software ever made a gundam game, with the difficulty and variety of Demon Souls… I would sh** my pants

  • Sardorim

Wont be surprised if the sequel has Official Modes for 00 S1/2/Movie. Especially if Louise and Regnant proves true as DLC.

  • eilegz

sigh i really hate DLC for roster, sigh what its worse its that namco bandai never release a complete goty edition….

another game that i have to wait to a further reduced price…

  • Vash bane

    Full Armor Unicorn?

    google here I come XD
