Dekamori Senran Kagura Might Be A Download Game, But It’s Pretty Big

By Ishaan . January 21, 2014 . 1:58pm

Dekamori Senran Kagura, the PlayStation Vita rhythm-cooking game where failure equals stripping, will weigh in at 3 or 4GB, producer Kenichiro Takaki shared over Twitter.

Dekamori Senran Kagura will come in two different packs when it is released as a download title. Pack A will include thirteen different characters, while Pack B will include another eleven. Both will cost 2,315 yen to download.

Alternatively, you’ll be able to buy a third pack at launch that includes both A and B. This is the one that will take up 3 or 4GB, going by Takaki’s tweet.

Dekamori Senran Kagura will be released in Japan on March 20th.

Jesus, that’s huge. Guess I’ll go buy a 16 GB card.

  • SetzerGabbiani

Umm…that image of Homura in nothing but an apron…….thank you for this bountiful blessing.

  • http://epiclyamazing.wordpress.com/ AzureNova

Wow, that is a lot. Good thing I have a 16GB memory card lol

    • Kumiko Akimoto

Good thing they are cheap now if i get one i can use my 4 gb for switching psn accounts

  • ivanchu77

Is this like in the vita? Where if you delete the game you also delete the save?

    • konsama

Well, the game is in the vita, so pretty sure it works like the vita lol.

How i hate the savedata management on it. PSP was awesome on it. -_-

      • Kumiko Akimoto

you have to move the whole game over to computer if you don’t want to lose it unless you have ps plus i want to slap sony

      • ivanchu77

Oh my god, i was thinking of the 3DS when i writed this xD, and yeah, it’ s really silly that deleting your game also deletes your save :(

        • Herok♞

You know you can back up saves for downloadable games. On 3DS you have to go to data management

          • konsama

Problem with that is not every game got given that option, and on top of all some are the games i care my saves the most, like MH3U and PKMN Y. -_-

          • OlimacFTW

I don’t know about those two games, but at least, with my 3DS I have made many backups for all of my digital games.

          • MaximDualBlade

how do you back up saves?

          • Herok♞

System Settings >> Data Management >> Nintendo 3DS >> Save Data Backup Mangement. keep in mind that it only works for Downloaded games

          • MaximDualBlade

thank you for the info. I thought you were talking about the Vita

          • Herok♞

For Vita its just pluging it into a PS3 or PC and backing up your whole memory card unless they changed it to PSP style.

          • MaximDualBlade

I have tried that and it didn’t work. I will try it again

          • Herok♞

            Good luck

    • Kayseur

      Right. It is.
You can back up your game beforehand on your computer or on your PS3 though, and if you’re a PS+ subscriber, you can upload the savefiles in the cloud (though that would require a JP PS+ here, but since you already need a JP account to get this game anyway…).
So I think it’s not that bad.

      • Fronkhead

The local backup isn’t the best solution really. I think the problem lies with how expectations have changed — we expect something like cloud saves to be handled automatically for us and for free, like it’s done on other services like iCloud/Game Center and Steam.

I lost saves for a few games because I didn’t realise how Vita handles save management, and even afterwards it’s not an optimal solution.

      • Tenshiken

You can backup the save files via local storage. When you back up the game to your computer there are separate folders for game data and save files. Just delete the game data while keeping the save files.

        • Kayseur

Never thought of that (not that I used this feature much anyway), that said I think the most problematic aspect here is the time the back-up takes, not really the place it takes once on the hardrive. (Stockage is fairly cheap nowadays.)

    • Tenshiken

Back up the game to your computer. From there you can separate the Save files while deleting the game data.

      • Learii

        that what I do lol

      • MXC

Like this guy said. Just open up the Application management app.

  • konsama

Big fan of rhythm games, and dat pic…

    But also dat game size…

    But dat plot…

    ROAGHWRUGHRWUWGH

    • PreyMantis

I bet it’s those huge plots that’s giving the game a huge size.

      • hng qtr

I’m sure there will be a lot of backstory in these 4 GB’s .

  • Kumiko Akimoto

    I need a bigger memory card….

  • Kayseur

Glad I got a 32Gb. (A couple of weeks before the 64Gb announcement, but whatever). Though I won’t have anything left after I get this one.

What’s funny however is that Shinovi Versus doesn’t take as much space as this one. But then again, full-ver music might be what takes a bit more space, but hopefully it’s also good features/contents.

  • Max

A physical copy alternative would be nice.

  • Pheria

So I can get a Japanese PSN account for this from my understanding, but isn’t switching back and forth on the Vita kind of a pain since it only allows one account at a time?

Does this just relate to the “downloadable version” implying there’s a physical one as well, or is it strictly download only?

Could make importing more tricky, ironically.

    • niko

Strictly downloadable (from what we have heard so far) and yes, the account switching at times can be a pain.

  • FetusZero

Does it come with another price drop on memory cards (and a huge one on 64GB cards)? Sorry but with games like Atelier, my 16GB can only hold so much.

  • XiaomuArisu

My 32GB card aint big enough…

    • Sentsuizan_93

      I know that feel man
      (also has a 32GB card)

    • RagingTiger44

      I have 8GB…

      • http://s1.zetaboards.com/Espada_of_Alexandria/index/ konpon568

        Not big enough!

      • XiaomuArisu

        Sterk: ” Still not enough….”

    • Aoshi00

I got a16 at launch and now constantly running out of space :( thank god the muramasa dlc size are not big.. Still everything adds up.. Wish they have a retail ver instead of dl, thought this usually happens for eng localization.. I’m not ever resetting again to switch to my Jpn acct on vita, just a total pain.

      • XiaomuArisu

        Muramasa DLC comes today!
Thinking about buying 64GB but the prize….

        • Aoshi00

I’m thinking I might need 64Gb eventually :(.. PS+ has so many free games, gb here 2Gb there and DLC.. 3-4Gb for a game too big now.. also I don’t like to reset my system, too bad no physical for this, would import right away.. also buying it digitally on Jpn PSN w/ playstation yen tix cost more..

I just beat the Muramasa Nekomata DLC the other night, so good, hard bosses :) new music too. can’t wait for the farmer one and the rest. good Aksys localization as always.. there’s the true ending too if you go around the map and beating all the bosses after the main game..

    • Ping92

      time to go 64gb. i have 64gb

  • ragingmerifes

    • J_Joestar

  • Kaetsu

    Pretty big, huh?

  • Luis Camargo

Can people’s memory cards hold so much plot ?

  • Weeb

Oh boy. I have to buy another overpriced priority memory card now.

  • Edzo04

im hoping they might release a physical limited edition sort of like phantom breakers. i dont want to waste that much memory on this game

  • Keko

    “where failure equals stripping”

I guess this is a game where I’ll never beat a single song.

    • KuroNathan

Wait no, but if you beat your opponent you strip her! (or him)

  • Peace Legacy

    “It’s pretty big”
Probably thanks to those… HUGE ASSETS inside the game’s contents right?
    *Bad dum t’sh*

  • Zak Ledward

Time to buy a memory stick JUST for this game

  • Guy Wesley

    Look at that huge size!
I mean 3-4 GB? Somebody better get a 32 GB memory card for that.

  • AkiraScare

  • Callonia

  • http://playstationallstars.wikia.com/wiki/PlayStation_All-Stars_Wiki Sackchief

Failure equals stripping? Doesn’t that mean people will lose on purpose?

    • MrSirFeatherFang

Seems like if you win, the loser has to strip ^_^

  • rdreamz

I think we already knew the pair of games would be pretty big.
