Yuna’s Final Fantasy X Outfit Confirmed For Lightning Returns In America

By Ishaan . January 21, 2014 . 12:46am

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII has Yuna’s “Spira Summoner” outfit from Final Fantasy X, which not only dresses Lightning up in Yuna’s garb, but also gives her her victory pose from that game. This costume, Square Enix USA announced today, will be available first as an Amazon pre-order bonus.

Later in the year, the outfit will be made available via other means as well. Lightning Returns will also feature Yuna’s Gunner outfit from Final Fantasy X-2 as DLC, but just how that costume will be made available in the west hasn’t been revealed yet.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will reach the U.S. and Europe in February 2014.

So long as those of us who paid an extra $30 and sold our souls down the digital river for that Aerith costume don’t permanently miss out on it, I think this is pretty neat for those sane people ordering it on amazon.

    • Zak Ledward

Indeed. I swear to Christ, if Square Enix forces us to choose I’m just going to say f*ck it and buy two copies

      #nofucks

      • Warboss Aohd

when you do that that only encourages them to make more store exclusive DLC.

      • Steven Lamphere

If I am not mistaken, and I pretty sure I am not, All the cameo dlc costumes such as Cloud, Aerith, Yuna, etc, will all come to the PSN as purchasable DLC.

      • Slickyslacker

It’s all going to be released individually on PSN, eventually. Even the samurai store-exclusive outfits from the various Japanese retailers might even become available.

        • Crevox

Not really. The Aerith one went up on accident for sale in Japan, and they had to take it down, cause they said they’re not going to sell it.

          • Slickyslacker

Well, there are a few exceptions like that. Free, pre-order bonus DLC such as this and Cloud’s outfit should eventually be released regardless.

          • Xerain

While I certainly agree with the sentiment of “should” 100%, S-E’s handling of this particular DLC in Japan points to a different reality.

          • Slickyslacker

Other than the Utsusemi Samurai outfit (which is already guaranteed after completion of the demo), yeah, the other samurai garbs don’t appear to be likely to happen.

As for “other means as well”, I had presumed that this particular Yuna outfit was going to be available by having an X/X-2 remaster save file – or is that the Yuna Gunner outfit?

          • Xerain

Based on the content of this article I would assume that is the gunner outfit.

    • Herok♞

Exactly if we are willing to buy a collector’s edition they should let us have every dlc costume day one especially if they are going to make the exclusive one something people get get later

  • Warboss Aohd

in related news, Jesse Cox is apparently gonna do a Let’s Play of this.

    Should be funny as hell

    • LightningFarron19

Uh, how about a source on this?

      • Warboss Aohd

his facebook page, he put up his schedule for the for January through March, Lightning Returns was on there.

  • artemisthemp

Aint this costume suppose to come with Final Fantasy X HD?

I wonder how EU is getting and Aerial costume.

  • Espoir

    …hawkward

  • Tiramii

Urgh really? I have two copies of this damn game preordered already for the damn costumes.

  • XaviIniesta

So I take it the Cloud Strife costume won’t be included for those who pre-order on Amazon in America?
Is that for Europe’s pre-orders only? A bit confused.

    • dmysta3000

No, from what I could gather, you get the Yuna AND Cloud costumes as pre-order bonuses by pre-ordering from Amazon.

They also confirmed that they will eventually put it up as DLC on PSN/XBL.

      • XaviIniesta

        Ah, I see. Thanks.

    • Slickyslacker

Pre-ordering from anyone (SE online store, Amazon, Gamestop, etc.) will get you the Cloud costume. As long as “supplies last”.

  • Serephitus

Oh fucking hell, I preordered the collector’s from Square, it better come with this one too, I dont want to buy another copy just for the costume,

    • Rintarou

Then don’t! It’ll definitely be available on PSN/XBL not too long after it’s out, as it was with the pre-order DLC for XIII-2.

  • NRool

I opted for the cheaper option from one of Play.com’s subsidiaries, figured I’d pre-order cheap and just buy any DLC outfits I want once they are out.

I mean, from GAME (UK) the game is £40-45, and I snagged it for £28, the extra for the steelbook and Cloud costume simply isn’t worth the money IMO.

I am a paitient man, I can wait thank you very much.

    Lighting Returns: Fashion Fantasy

    • Kumiko Akimoto

I thought everyone was over that?

      • http://uglylarvas.tumbrl.com/ Kanimir

SE is not, why should I? :)

        • Kumiko Akimoto

But this costume was already announced now it’s just confirmed for coming here so

          • http://uglylarvas.tumbrl.com/ Kanimir

That doesn’t change the fact that it’s kind of ridiculous for me, all those outfits. Yes, I don’t have to buy them, but I don’t have to like them either. I miss the days where we could just buy a game with everything included, with no DLCs, exclusive pre-order stuff and billion patches because the game isn’t ready on the release…

          • Kumiko Akimoto

I thought not having to like them would be just as fine as not having to buy them.
The game is ready though. Dlc is added bonuses and patches are god send now that we don’t have to worry about buying the same game for updatedness.
