Senran Kagura Burst Pre-Orders In Europe Come With 3D Poster

Senran Kagura Burst is being released at retail in Europe, and the game will have a pre-order bonus if you pre-order it from GAME stores in the U.K. and other participating retailers in Europe.

Marvelous Europe  will include an A3-sized 3D lenticular poster with the game if you pre-order the game from any of these stores.  The poster will feature the Hanzo Academy ninjas—Asuka, Ikaruga, Katsuragi, Yagyu and Hibari.

Welp (Stretches), looks like I’m gonna have to buy this again lol

    • British_Otaku

Yeah, even with it being retail in Europe and all I wasn’t sure whether I wanted another copy… With a preorder bonus like this and it being the only retail release aside from Japan.

      I need this! :P
Going to see whether I can get it from a retail store for the You Got Guts achievement as well.

      • Death Metal

Fucking Nintendo and its fucking stupid region locking bullshit. Of course I am not going to do as they expect and buy an European unit just for some 3D boobs, but it’s seriously upsetting that you have no other option if you don’t consider piracy (and that wouldn’t come with poster, obviously).

      • http://epiclyamazing.wordpress.com/ AzureNova

Yeah, this is a must buy lol

  • omeganeko

That is pretty cool. I was going to just download it on the 3ds but now i’m actually considering a psychical copy now.

  • brostar

I wish GAME would stop getting all these pre-order bonuses in the UK for games. What happens if you don’t want to support those bastards at GAME? Meh. Not really a huge deal. I don’t really want that poster anyway. Seriously, am I going to hang it up? No. Imagine trying to bring a girl home with that in your room.

    • British_Otaku

ShopTo have gotten a healthy amount of preorder bonuses and limited editions (see Bravely Default) as well. Most preorder bonuses suck, so I don’t see how GAME are that bad for getting a bunch of em.

On whether we can put the poster up without looks from friends, family and our beloved… >_> Well I just store posters anyway.

      • brostar

Shop exclusives suck anyway. But I specifically hate GAME so it bugs me when they get exclusives. Not only are their games unsealed but they always price them way higher than ShopTo.

        • British_Otaku

Apparently, GAME have been doing well so I don’t expect them to price themselves competitively in the future too… You are right that store exclusives suck for the most part, sometimes there are really cool preorder bonuses like the Japanese ones for each of the Senran Kagura games. Drama CD, Mini Artbook and full soundtrack.

If the price difference is significant I could give this a pass as well and buy one from eBay (I bet there are dozens of those mini artbooks for Fire Emblem Awakening).

      • J_Joestar

Your Otaku Power Level must be too low if putting up a poster like this is going to change people’s opinion of you.

        • British_Otaku

With this, I will have everything from obscure manga/anime/video game posters to manly not for sale Berserk posters signed by various voice actors and a plethora of pervy stuff.

I just don’t have the wall space for it and my Otaku Power Level is so great that I wish to protect them till I get a bigger place.

EDIT: The amount of likes J_Joestar is gathering implies the faith in my Otaku powers is declining fast… I’ll have to think of something drastic.

    • Alicemagic

…what’s this “girl” you speak of?

      • J_Joestar

they are these fantastical creatures made of sugar and spice and everything nice.
just be careful of the ones that may have traces of Chemical X.

  • karldeck

If only you could touch the 3d boobs.

    • brostar

You can touch 3D boobs. There are loads of women outside. Though… you probably should ask them before you touch them.

      • Arrngrim

Why bother asking?! Waste of time, just do it!

        • J_Joestar

          unless you’re a certain busty blonde ninja-girl, i wouldn’t suggest it.

        • hazelnut1112

See, I agree with you on this. Women like guys that are spontaneous, wo isn’t that being spontaneous enough for them?

      • Darkrise
        • PreyMantis

If only I can do this in America without getting sexual assault charges on me…

  • otakumike

    I’m so jelly. :(

  • Pheria

I ordered from Zavvi. I wonder if they’ll be getting this bonus?

    • British_Otaku

You have a month to change your mind. Preorder bonuses are typically exclusive on a store by store basis, though Zavvi might get something else not that I’ve heard of them getting any preorder bonuses since they dropped out of brick and mortar retail stores.

      • Pheria

Thanks for the insight. I’m importing to the US, so I don’t know much about how different these UK stores are. I just know Zavvi had cheap shipping to the US.

        • British_Otaku

No problem. I followed through most of GAME’s system to see how much it would cost to ship a copy to the US and it seems it will cost between £2.95-£4.95 for overseas postage. My hypothetical Las Vegas address cost £4.95 which isn’t really much to pay.

You could try that out instead.

And when I said “one month to change your mind” I assumed the game was releasing late next month (14th February isn’t a bad date either), so you may as well change your order sooner than later and consider asking them whether you are valid for the preorder bonus before ordering just to be sure as well.

          • Pheria

Neat. Yeah, that’s not bad. I did exactly that. I shot them an email to be sure the pre-order bonus would still be included and shipped on an international pre-order.

Zavvi had shipping for £.99, and it was priced at 24.99 instead of 29.99. So the difference is about £10 to get the poster as well (assuming I can).

          • British_Otaku

GAME being the biggest guys around like GameStop in the US, always charge the most. In the UK, I’m pleased to see any games below the £30 mark in this day and age, but in dollars I imagine the price looks like a joke… GAME would charge that much with or without the poster.

Just to be sure, you have a European 3DS right? You won’t be able to play the game without it.

          • Pheria

Yeah, 35 GBP is getting very, very close to the price of a brand new console game in the US $59.99 (the exact exchange is currently about $58.20)

I don’t have a European 3DS, but I’m aware they’re region locked. I’m just a fan of the game and also a fan of having physical copies. I keep almost all of my games and hate the idea of losing/missing out on one because it was digital only and removed from the store for some licensing reason. Especially so on Nintendo platforms since purchases are frequently tied to the hardware rather than an account.

In short, I don’t want the game to get de-listed from the eShop years from now, then have my 3DS die years from that, and not be able to play anymore. With a physical copy the worst case becomes “Get a European 3DS” instead of “Never play it again”.

Most of all I just like having a boxed copy of things, though. That poster would be a great bonus, too.

          • British_Otaku

I see. I plan to import Code of Princess (physical anywhere but Europe) and Guild 01 (physical in Japan) for similar reasons, it is great being able to put the game in another system no matter what happens to the eShop version or if it hits some sort of barrier like Marvel vs Capcom is.

Since I got a digital Japanese version of Burst, I’m partly getting it to fill that place in the shelf (perhaps I’ll get the Japanese one too >_>).

On the poster, a few commenters said that GAME won’t post it outside the UK, so you may want to change back to Zavvi assuming that this is true and they email back with that sort of response. Perhaps, you could grab it by purchasing it off a reseller on eBay or something, but it seems you are more attached to having a game in case things go wrong and completing your shelf than anything.

          • Pheria

Yep. Back-up + shelf lust are my main motivations. I’m doing essentially the same thing with Monster Monpiece – importing a physical copy for now, but will still probably get the English PSN version upon release.

I’m definitely keeping the Zavvi order until I get confirmation from GAME. That poster would be a great bonus that I’d pay a little bit more for to get, but I don’t know that I’d want to pay a reseller’s premium. If they won’t ship the bonus internationally I’ll just stick with the game. I didn’t even know there was going to be a poster until earlier today, after all. :)

          • Pheria

GAME just replied to my email. They won’t ship the poster internationally. Bummer.

          • British_Otaku

At the least, they responded quickly and you will get a physical copy on the side regardless (the main goal). I imagine it is more trouble to ship something as small as a game with a A3 poster than it’s worth but CDJapan and such always let us import for a premium price if we want too…

I hope they and GameSpot expand eventually, there are a bunch of games I wouldn’t mind ordering from them if it is an exclusive limited edition or something.

Hope you enjoy the physical release if it comes to the point where you need to use it, or Nintendo wise up and unlock the region lock stuff.

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

    Man….I want that poster…

  • XypherCode

    Dammit America! :(

  • artemisthemp

I hope other retailer is carrying this Pre order bonus else… Bye bye EU

    • British_Otaku

Like I said to Pheria, preorder bonuses are usually exclusives.
Some junk or something cool which the publisher can produce to please a big retailer and increase sales as well hopefully. I’m sure GAME will increase stock to account for the interest gained with a preorder bonus.

      • artemisthemp

Game doesn’t ship the bonus out UK

        • British_Otaku

Unfortunate. I guess you guys could try finding a reseller or something. In the case of Senran Kagura, I got both 3DS games (physical second hand for the 2011 release and digital release for Burst) and the preorder bonuses separately. :/

  • Ren Yuumei

damnit i like there cover more :(

  • XypherCode

Kinda awkward buying this over the counter xD.

    • RagingTiger44

      Bring your best poker face.

  • ronin4life

    Wait… a 3d POSTER??
    WHAT WITCH-CRAFT IS THIS???
    ?[]?/

    • Go2hell66

      Burn the witch!

  • Sentsuizan_93

    THAT’S IT! Pre-ordering at GAME it is~

  • http://twitter.com/#!/kaishou Kaishou

    3D boobs, oh shit

  • transferstudentx

preorderd god damit wallet dont die on me!!

  • ShimaPantsu

    Enjoy the physical copy, Eurobros.

  • ReidHershel

    *HEAVY BREATHING*
    I WANT THAT SO BADLY.

  • lozffvii

As much as I like that preorder bonus, I actually want to have a girlfriend sometime in the near future.
So I’ll be sticking to my original plan of getting the download version.

    • J_Joestar

I dunno, i’ve seen lots of girls who like these kinds of anime-related material.

      • lozffvii

I don’t want to sound all ‘woe is me’, but I live in what can charitably be called a ‘backwater’.
As such people who share the same hobbies are few and far between. Only my close friends do but they’re all away for one reason or another.

  • http://s932.photobucket.com/ usagi_san

Preorder bonuses from GAME are UK only. Just a little heads for some of you.

I must get this. I WILL get this.

    • Nier

So they wont ship the poster to the people who pre-ordered for shipping outside the UK?

      • http://s932.photobucket.com/ usagi_san

That would be the case. Unless you have a friend in the UK that can get it for you.

    • http://www.salarymandaishi.net/ SalarymanDaishi

Thanks for the heads up! Would have been a bummer to spend an extra £2.95 for delivery and still miss out on the pre-order bonus. Oh well, posterless Amazon.co.uk copy it shall be.

      • http://s932.photobucket.com/ usagi_san

        No problem. :D

  • Crimson_Cloud

Any news regarding the Senran Kagura Estival Versus?

    • British_Otaku

We don’t even know what PlayStation system it will be on…
Since there were two other Senran Kagura games announced on the same live stream with much more progress, platforms, characters, price points, limited editions, gameplay videos and intros shown.

You should probably wait for the cooking game to come out at least and probably till Senran Kagura 2 releases in August as they wouldn’t want to completely overshadow a title.

    • J_Joestar

we’ve barely gotten any details recently for SK2, they are just pushing the cooking one at the moment i think.

  • KuroNathan

boo, we missed out in the US

    • hazelnut1112

At least by us buying the game on the eShop we got enough for the game to be a best seller eve through digital distribution. Plus it gave a boost for this game to be released in Europe and got a lot of pre orders in Europe Gamestop. So this means that the chances of the second game getting localized and getting a physical release in the US are nonexistent because it already guarantees the other games are going to get localized. This is good news for all.

  • Kornelious

    You…..Lucky….Little…..JERKS! >:( (jk lol)

  • Nier

So, if someone pre-orders from GAME.co.uk for shipping outside the UK, do they get the poster or not?

  • hazelnut1112

I guess the US were guinea pigs seeing how well it did over here while Europe got the physical version with a pre order bonus. Lucky you, sort of…
So far I seen it was number 1 list of all pre orders in EU GameStop, so good going Europe, you have increased the chances of Shinovi versus getting localized as well as the second part of this game. We did it, SK is accepted overseas.

    • brostar

Nah. It’s simply because Xseed didn’t have enough money do a physical release in NA. Zen United the people publishing it in Europe can afford a retail release because it’s already localized so they don’t have to spend any money on that.

    • British_Otaku

Guinea pigs? Victims of circumstance more like.
They didn’t have enough resources to pull off a physical release in America like brostar said, I’m sure you guys will have the better preorder bonus for your physical Shinovi Versus out of the two of us.

Also, I keep forgetting that we have GameStop too… >_>

  • Repede91

I have my wallpaper cycle to a random image every 15 minutes. What luck the exact same image be the current image when I saw this article!

    • Pheria

Pardon me, but is Magikarp your trash can? If you keep treating him poorly, he won’t be nice to you when he evolves. :<

      • Repede91

He doesn’t get rotated into battle very often and I don’t keep Exp. Share on so I don’t think I have much to worry about…

        • Somebodyissilent

Sure you say that now until he uses splash.

    • theboobness

May I ask where you got your icons from?

      • Repede91

The images themselves I got mostly from Danbooru (NSFW) and Google. Then I used Preview to erase the background from the image leaving just the character or item. Then right click the application choose “get info” and drag the new icon to where the icon appears in the “get info” window. Voila!!!

You may need to relaunch your dock to have all the changes take affect too.

        • theboobness

          thanks ill try it out!

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

As someone who has had SKB for years via the JP version, I wish that one came with a poster…

    • British_Otaku

Did you pick up the preorder bonus for SKB?
I went out of my way to get them for both 3DS games as they have the soundtrack, an artbook and drama CD in a neat package.

This poster is pretty cool, but Japan still won out of the three regions.

  • Kayriss Wins

Damn, we may have gotten the game ALOT faster then Europe did but I ask you gentlemen at what cost… AT WHAT COST?!

  • artemisthemp

Hopefully another shop will get this pre order bonus also.

  • Romancer Ecclesia

ahh i thought double Ds were big enough… now they give us triple Ds? xD

  • NeoPancho

A 3D poster?! -NeoPancho looks to his collection of 3DS Japanese games and see both Senran Kagura games- It can’t be helped, will have to buy again!

  • Shippoyasha

Well, excuse us for indulging in some sexy, funny action game series!

  • British_Otaku

I get the feeling that I know your case from your reply to brostar above, but still.

You should give the game at least more of a look and the game is more than just the fanservice (plot, life, hometown etc). >_>

  • J_Joestar

even beyond the fanservice, there is still a good fast-paced beat’em’up game with nice VN-style storytelling sequences.

  • Alicemagic

Hardly phenomenal. If your opinions on a game can be swayed to either direction with something like a preorder bonus, it’s safe to assume your interest was already at rock bottom long before you saw any meaningful criteria, like gameplay.

  • Original Sayin Prince

hey man, they gotta get their nuts off from somewhere. no std’s

  • MaximDualBlade

Dude let people be happy. It’s just a poster.

  • buddyluv324

You do realize this is only a video game right? Meaning basically that its all fiction and the people who buy ANY sort of game knows the different between reality and fiction. Just because there’s T&A in games doesnt mean we all wait it to the the standard to real life nor that it plays into any of our daily lives.

  • J_Joestar

The ability to enjoy 2D and 3D aren’t mutually exclusive.

  • Shippoyasha

Funny thing is, I know several gal pals who would fawn over posters like this.

  • RichyGaming

    That’s not possible.

  • Death Metal

It’s amazing how fellow gamers think so negatively of one another because of things that don’t even concern their own. It’s sad, really.

  • British_Otaku

    That’s an option in Versus?

I knew I was missing out from just playing the 3DS games, but woah, Senran Kagura 2 needs to step up to this level. Hopefully while not charging for costumes, Attack on Titan 3DS may be rough around the edges, but it gives the players tons of options to work with for character creation and even just letting Mikasa or Sasha fight as an idol.

  • Shippoyasha

You can do freeform character costume editing in Versus. You can dress characters up, dress them down (Kind of how people can make false nude characters in Soul Calibur 5) or make animals near a character or give them giant sunglasses.

  • British_Otaku

Sounds like it could give Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (probably the most flexible game that comes to mind that I have) a run for it’s money.

I REALLY hope that feature is present in SK2 now. Especially, if they happen to have less characters than Versus (so far we expect 14 people, the 2 guys, the 2 new girls and the standard Hanzo and Homura gangs), it should be a little easier.

I want to spend TTT2 or Elder Scrolls amounts of time designing characters in this series too…

Also, can you “save” customs of your character costumes in Versus? So you don’t have to pick through a dozen menus and remember a ton of specifics to change between two favourites…

Sorry for going off topic, but I might get a Vita sooner than I thought. >_>

  • Kumiko Akimoto

Really? I could barely get the chun li things to fit right on the bun hair maybe i was doing it wrong

  • Shippoyasha

Yeah you can save the customization and it carries over into the main game and you can see them in character interaction segments too. It’s pretty funny making one character dress up in another girl’s colors and outfit styles. You can do all sorts of funny or risky or stylish things with the changing room.

  • British_Otaku

I’ve got all of the volumes up to Season 2 Volume 1, but still am on Volume 2… I’ll have to get through Genshiken again after getting through 20th Century Boys, Watamote, I’s, Hellsing and such… >_>

It is one of my favourite reads and I hope the anime is worth a watch even with Hiyama not voicing Madarame anymore in the second season among others.

  • TrueDefault

I always quote this one whenever someone says how anyone could find a drawing attractive.

  • British_Otaku

The original SK and Burst let them carry on into the character interactions, but even more silly costumes where you can’t see the face of the character is a whole ‘nother thing.

Looking forward to Shinovi Versus as well now, hopefully it will come through as cleanly as Burst before it. I just know if it gets the the Monster Monpiece treatment it will even miss out of content that was fine and PEGI 16+/ESRB T before.
